So I’m still forced to come here because UCB has all their classes nearby. The daytime baristas are all pretty chill. Never really crowded. Great place to use the restroom because they don’t really pay attention to who comes in and out and they are shared with a few other businesses in a public hallway. I appreciate that they use Stumptown coffee.

I think this place is called Hudson’s. Stopped by for a cup of coffee, turkey and swiss with bacon, a basic green salad, and wifi. Was able to kill some time while my motorcycle was being repaired down the street. Nice place to hang out for a bit — nothing fancy, but very comfortable. Mens bathroom was very clean.

This place is just okay. I actually like the décor and how everything is set up inside. I came here after learning that Café Muse’s(next door) griller was broken. And so to spite that fact, I went next door. As a vegan, the only option was the PB& J for $ 5. Now, I love a good peanut butter and jelly. I am very picky about what ingredients are in the carb-y products that I consume. So, upon ordering I quickly asked what’s in the bread(I only want Whole Grain/Whole Wheat, no High Fructose Corn Syrup). And I was a little saddened when the cashier/sandwich maker pulled out Trader Joe’s $ 3 loaf. Now I love TJ’s a lot. But if I’m paying $ 5 for a sandwich, I want something a little bit more gourmet. Heck, I could have just bought the whole load and slathered some on myself. In the end, the sandwich tasted blah, but the cashier was super nice. Muse next door is much better. However, from other reviews, their drinks seem great, but I’m not in the mood to spend $ 5 on a speciality drink at the moment.

Afternoon mirage no more. They are open, and worth popping into. Good WiFi, strong espresso. Nice artsy vibe. Perfect at intermission or pre/post show next to the Hudson Theatre. Sandwiches look promising; dessert selections seem sweet and local. WHile getting my car done around the corner, this is heaven sent. But really, I think it’d be great to swing on purpose. Very soothing but with a pulse. Yeah!

Whenever the boyfriend and I are in the area to see a play, or improv, we always stop by. It is pretty middle-of-the-road as far as cafes are concerned. They sell beer too, but beware, a bottle of something as gross as Bud Light will run you $ 5! Both times we’ve been here, the chick behind the counter has been really friendly and sweet. The place is beautiful, with its dark red painted walls and art hung everywhere. Some of the people that lounge around in here are a bit pretentious though. Creepy looking men in artsy-style-business suits that are just sitting and staring at each other, no one talks. My friends and I are always the loudest people in there(without even being loud.) I guess that’s what you get for being in this part of town. The coffee flavors are fun(the Milky Way latte is my fav) and they sell fresh cookies and all types of yummy snacks. I wouldn’t dare go out of my way to come here, parking is an awful situation. but if you find yourself walking up and down Santa Monica Blvd and are thirsty, I’d choose this place over SBux. :)

After showing up literally 3 minutes late to our show, West Side Story, we were forced to watch another show(Eat the Runt) until we could sneak in to West Side Story’s second act. After watching Eat the Runt(which was interesting to say the least but if you’re in the West Side Story mood, the dramedy Eat the Runt is not the best complement) we killed some time at Caffe Bacio. All four of us felt obligated to purchase something and we got hot chocolate, hot tea(Tazo brand), juice and bottled water. Nothing really amazing. This is just your run of the mill café… attached to a theater so you feel a little obligated to purchase something if you’re sitting around and it’s just you and the server/barista. Service was very pleasant though.
