A small farmers market, but I felt the prices for produce was less expensive than other farmers markets. There were only three certified organic produce vendors at the time of my visit and I ended buying a bag of fruits and veggies from one vendor. The persimmons and apples were super sweet, and the kale inexpensive. I didn’t see any signs that said«pesticide free.» The highlight of my visit was eating at the Chicharron Place. I saw the long line of Latinos in line and I knew it would be amazing experience. They had two varieties of chicharrones(pork rinds) — with«meat» and without. One guy told me that he comes every Saturday just to eat here. He also told me that he is thin, but has high cholesterol, but still comes back week after week for more. I don’t really buy meat when I cook at home, especially pork, so I had to order something here! I try to have a meatless diet when cooking at home or eating seafood only when I cook. I asked what I can get a plate of and the lady recommended I get the carnitas tacos. Along with that I ordered a small back of both varieties of chicharonnes. These tacos were fantastic and probably the best carnitas tacos I’ve ever had! They also had a huge selection of agua frescas(fresh juices) such as pineapple, horchata, jamaica, lemonade with chia seeds, etc. The pineapple juice(without ice) was so refreshing and perfect to pair with my carnitas tacos. Highly recommended!!!

Tiny, tiny little farmers’ market. I’ve been trying to incorporate more fruits/veggies into my diet and have started hitting up farmers’ markets for organic goodness. There’s one organic stand that I frequent. Nice guy at the counter. I forgot the name of the farm, but they’re the only ones with ORGANIC on their banner. They have the best yellow peaches, apricots, cherries, raisins, almonds, plums, etc. Always sweet. The only fruit that weren’t sweet were their white peaches. Bad batch I guess? Other than that, yes it’s a bit pricey, but the freshness and sweetness of their goods are well worth it. There’s another stand that was selling cheap strawberries. $ 5 for 3 little crate things/1 box. So $ 5 for a box. They were the best tasting strawberries I’ve had in a long time. So good. Unfortunately they didn’t have a banner or anything with their name on it so the next time I went, I didn’t see that same lady, so I left without any strawberries.

I love that my community has a farmer’s market. It’s on the small side, but it’s quaint and the produce is fresh. I had a great tamale from one vendor, though I don’t remember the name.

I enjoy going to Farmers Markets anywhere I can get a chance. This one is definitely on the smaller side but something about it being small makes it just as enjoyable. I frequent the Northridge Farmers Market and that’s obviously bigger, more vendors, and crowded. This one here in Canoga Park runs along Sherman Way Blvd between Owensmouth and Wyandotte. It’s not as crowded but has the same vibe as any other farmers market. They even have live music to enjoy as you stroll around. There’s fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers being sold, and a few food booths such as pastries. It occurs every Saturday mornings. They have tables set up to sit and enjoy your food as well! If you live in the area, pay them a visit. :)

This is definitely a smaller farmer’s market, but I like that. I was able to talk to most of the vendors and since I plan on going here weekly I’m hoping to establish great relationships with them. Though most of the vendors were not certified organic, most of them seem to use no pesticides, but I’m sure the strawberries everyone had were not organic at all. I’ll definitely be here every weekend while I live in the area and I hope to be a part of it’s growth.

This farmers market is very small. There is one vendor who sells organic fruit, and a couple of others who sell fruits and vegetables that are not certified organic, although they say they do not use pesticides. I did get some nice peaches and a few other things, but nothing I couldn’t have found at the Studio City farmers market, which I will still have to go to tomorrow anyway to get the rest of my food.
