The food at Celaya Bakery was delicious and the staff was very friendly. When you walk in the bakery goods are on the left and tables are on the right. The counter for ordering food is toward the back. I ordered the huevos a la mexicana with a bolillo. The bolillo was freshly baked, incredibly soft, and tasty. I regret not getting some for the road. I also ordered vampiro which was great. The food tasted homemade. A definite gem in the neighborhood!

I used to like this place but the quality is not consistent. It’s hit or miss. The last straw was when I ordered a bionico and it came with whip crème only and a few granola pieces. When I asked them about it she rudely replied that’s what they come with and refused to change it. She continued end by insulting me and leaving a sour taste in my mouth. I too love to go to mom and pop shops(when the owners seem to care) but this one is not worth it. They’re bread is good but this is not a mexican bakery. I’ll have to start going to east LA for the real deal. $ 8 for a not so good wanna be bionico knockoff is not worth it. You guys know how to turn a regular into a disgruntled ex-customer. Save yourself the headaches with this place, don’t waste your hard earned cash here. They don’t appreciate it. Sad to say but I got really disillusioned with this place. The service was less than zero stars, I’d say a negative one.

I honestly cannot say enough good things about the Celaya Bakery. Not only was Susi(my contact) honest, sincere and attentive to my requests but I felt a sense of personal pride in the work she does and the relationships she creates. As well they have good prices but you most certainly get what you pay for. We were on a tight budget and this was a good place to get good cake. She simply provided options and her input from experience and then let me make the decisions. I changed my mind time and time again and she was always relaxed and accommodating. I received numerous compliments on the Cupcakes. They take pride in their work and it shows. I will recommend the Celaya Bakery to everyone. They have earned a very loyal customer!!! Thank you very much Susi for being so patient with me! Wedding: 08/31/2013

That girl is right. There’s 2 on the same block. One on the east side of the street and the other on the west. I went to the one on the west. Ok, let me start by saying i LOVE mom&pop shops, but this one… *rating based on bakery not food* There was NO kind of selection of bread. They looked a bit stale. And they had a tart cake that must have been an 11 inch?(Big enough for 7 – 10 people) for $ 30!!! Are you kidding me! 1. It looked like it had been there since last christmas. And 2. I can get that shit at Portos for like 18 – 20 bucks and its the Next time I’ll go to east L.A. where they have that fresh made good stuff!

This bakery has a secret that needs to get out: they make some of the best sandwiches in LA. I’m talking about their Torta De Milanesa. You won’t see any signs for this, you have to ask for it. Don’t ask me how I discovered this, since I don’t speak Spanish very well, or even at all. But I’ve been getting these for years now, and I love them. They’re just damn good.

There are two Celeya Panaderia Bakeries on the same street! I decided to go to this one b/c it was simply closer to my apartment. I never knew that Mexican bakeries can be so awesome! They had a wide selection of sweet breads, pastries and cakes. And MUCH better price than Korean bakeries. Presentation-wise, it is not as as pretty or well decorated; but everything still looks very good! I only tried this one bread with a cracked/crumbly top to it — it reminded me of the ones I get from Korean bakeries. I will definitely come here again soon! I paid cash, didn’t ask if they accepted card. Street parking.
