No cover, clean space. Drinks reasonably priced. Definitely room to sit. DJ was playing hip hop, rap and r&B on saturday night. It was low key

Absolutely a horrendous experience for the valentines night event. After tax the ticket cost us $ 100 for 2 tickets. The sound went out during the first 15mins and kept cutting in and out until we decided to leave and get a refund. Overall, this night cost my fiancé and I at least $ 500 – 600 including über fare, my dress, his suit, my shies, dry cleaning, my shoes. It was a shit show. I’m disgusted. Steer clear of cinespia events!

Just another stupid club, not necessarily a bad thing but I sure as hell wouldn’t want to wait in line just to get in.

I really wish they would bring back dinner and a movie night. :o(They haven’t really done anything like that since 2010. Not a fan of the club itself. It’s a small venue, and the drinks are expensive.

Love it! Been going here for years and only got kicked out once and it wasn’t even our fault. The guy next to us hit on some guys girlfriend, then the guy straight punched him, the guy fell over on us and the bouncer thought we were involved in the fight too. Me and 4 of my friends, so they escorted us out lmao. We were already so drunk and had been there for several hours so we didn’t really give a shit but that was kind of unfair. The bouncer was like«Well I saw you push him» And I’m like yeah I was pushing him off of me because he fell on me when he got hit, what was I supposed to do? Leave his drunk ass laying on me? So dumb. but other than that one incidence this is my place. I go for Dim Mak Tuesdays, I can’t vouch for any other night.

I went here for the first time on a Wednesday night and was amazed that I hadn’t stumbled upon this club sooner! I was at Cinespace to watch my friends performance, and although the club wasn’t packed like it might have been on a weekend, I could easily see the potential this place has to offer. The crowd was your typical Hollywood scene, but I was amazed to be in a club/lounge with so many seperate rooms and places to move around. When you first walk in you immediately go upstairs, and although the layout seems somewhat like a maze, the bars are spread out = hardly any waiting. I look forward to going back on the weekend!

Hmm, kind of small club, way too loud and the drinks were damn expensive. Nothing was really pleasant about my experience there.

Came here last night to see Matty G and Cotti spin. I haven’t been here since I was 18, my good old clubbing days(gross) and I can’t say I missed it. I’m not sure why they had us enter thru the side in the alley it was a bit strange. BARSELECTION– I cant even explain how pathetic is was. THEONLY beer they had was Heineken light and colt 45. WHATTHEFLYINGSHIT I thought he was kidding, and get this $ 5 for a colt 45 can. I feel stupid for buying that crap, see what alcohol does to you? I heard the mixed drinks were strong. BATHROOMS. UM a unisex one? Apparently there’s only 1 bathroom it has like 5 stalls and 3 of those had urinals. Which means I couldn’t even use them. I didn’t care about sharing a bathroom with a dude UNTIL this dude made comments about me putting on my lipstick, awkward? Only plus was how big the venue is, Pretty spacious which I liked. Not having a dude rub on me on «accident«pervs. Would I go back? sure, but buy alcohol there? HELLNO

This was my first experience here and it started off on a sour note. I arrived with 4 porcelain dolled up hot girls, and my guy friend. At the door the ladies walk in without hassle, but upon giving my VALIDCALIFORNIAID, the bouncer hustles me and says it’s not a valid ID, if you want in you gotta pay me to let you in. SERIOUS?! He tells me, if he was cop, he would say this ID is no good. Having been pulled over many times living in L.A., my ID has always been good. I was getting HUSTLED?! My guy friend had to pull out a $ 100 bill for him to let me in. I’ve been to many bars/clubs and never has this happened. I came on a Tuesday night so it was electronic music. Mind you I too was dressed up in proper attire. I justify the one star because I can tell this bouncer at the door has hustled MANY before because he was looking to make $ the wrong way. He had a dirty smirk especially seeing that I was walking in with 4 hot girls and wasn’t going to just turn around and call it a night. The bouncer was quite obese, not tall, shaved head and was Caucasian(white). Unilocalers beware of this guy. Though I give 1 star because of the bouncer(and the loss of $ 100 to him); the DJ’s that night were amazing. I haven’t heard music this amazing unless you were from the UK or Spain. But the greatness of music is because the DJ’s hired that night were great, which does not mean they will be there another night. The club itself is very grungy down feel, it’s an old building. The sound system is powerful so much credit goes there for bass you can feel and dance too.

Dear Cinespace — I mean«Dim Mak Tuesdays,» It’s been a great four years hanging out at this place. I’ve seen some really cool up and coming bands. I’ve seen some cool acts and good deejays. And guess who I saw there? Lady Gaga for free one week before she hit it big. I mean huge. She was there with her super buffed out dancers. She was utterly amazing. I thought wow that girl can really belt out a tune. I was so close to the stage. It was not even funny. She sang POKERFACE. It’s good to know who is going to be hot before everyone knows who they are. I feel as though this is a privileged skill that I have learned. Anyway, another super fun night to go is to go on DJ Steve Aoki’s birthday. It is so packed and the line goes all the way down Hollywood Boulevard. This is one of the most entertaining nights to go there. The music just gets super crazy, super interesting and just plain birthday party level music. Hope they keep bringing good acts and new cutting edge deejays. This place makes L.A. what it is.

Well, after being kind of bored with the wacky music the DJ was blasting in the little room(called a dance floor), I realized that there was like a 15:1 ratio of guys to ladies. After realizing that my best friend and I were outnumbered, I held on to her for dear life! Especially when a few of the guys looking over us. Luckily, however, we came with our guy pal and his guy pal! The venue has a whole bunch of televisions that air some weird 70’s commercials. Not sure if that’s what they were aiming for… On a brighter side, FREEVODKA drinks from 10:00pm-11:00pm! I came on a Tuesday for house music Tuesdays. The DJ that night was not that good/Some music was just plain bad, some were chill. We did try to dance to our best ability. $ 10 dollars for cover was definitely not worth it.

ALLKINDSOFGHETTO Y’ALL… and not just your plain ‘olé«run of the mill» ghetto… it’s the type of ghetto, where you go home and contemplate your goals in life and how’d you get to the point where you ended up there… lol! But I Loved it, what can I say?! And I was there for a good friend so I had an overall good time, but let me keep it real… …THISPLACEHADTHENERRRRRVETOCOST $ 20TOGETIN… and the«V-I-P» was«S-H-I-T»… The only thing that separated the two areas was a long ass«pleather» couch that was home base for chicks to grab onto while gettin’ felt up by dudes who look like«50 Tyson»(youtube it), while showing everybody how they can do «the dougie», «toot it and boot it» and«the jerk»…lol. Ok, I’m a little jealous, because I can’t really do any of those dances… lol. And to top things off… Wait… I’m not even gonna say… unless I get enough feedback to determine if it’s even necessary to write(I’ll save it for the update, should I find myself trapped in hollyHood again)… Too picky perhaps… IDK, but the craziest shit happened when I went… and I’m just gonna’ say it involved: a hair weave, a Deney Terrio Dance Fever splits attempt and an ambitious 22 yr old who had waaay too much to drink… Holla.

I am the farthest thing from Hollywood so this was a funny Sunday night here at ol’ Cinespace. I was told it was free before 10:30 pm but the door lady said $ 10 cover. When I said«I thought it was free.» She looked around feverishly and just pointed to the stairs. So it’s back to free now? Ok. I headed upstairs and viewed a room of maybe 15 people. People were ordering free vodka and the bartenders look PISSED. One snapped at me when I ordered another drink. Not sure why. I was tipping and even was fine with paying when the promo was over. Attached to that room was hipsters smoking and looking depressed. A few women were giggling. I am guessing it was the coke. They were giving free haircuts this evening. One dude told me the best band ever was playing at the other end of the club. I was excited. I went to see this band of 2 hipsters play to a room full of hipsters. Every single dude/chick/can’t tell what it was looked like: 1) Russel Brand but skinner and weirder 2) Flat ironed hair, anorexic, lil hat, flannel, stoic look. I felt like I was in «The Shining» except this was the hipster installment. Everyone looked the exact same. Even SF hipsters aren’t THIS bad. Finally, we left. Very«unique» scene. Beware of that chick charging cover. She’s probably pocketing it. I’m too fly for her scam :)

Tuesday at 11:15pm, we arrived. It was pass 11pm so we had to pay $ 10, instead of $ 5 despite being on the guestlist(which is over at 11pm). I tried to talk to the short ugly asian cashier but no luck. Whatevers, my friend paid for me anyways. It wasn’t crowded and the epic open bar was over ;(. The other section of the bar was closed off so it was just the small dance floor and the«outdoor» smoking area. We spent most of our time in the smoking area smelling weed we couldn’t locate. The drinks prices were hefty aka the usual Hollywood prices so I went with a strong classic of mine, dry gin martini with extra olives, for $ 15. That did the trick and I was enjoying the scene a little more. I met and talked to some people my age, and checked out others. It’s mostly the hollywood crowd that accessorizes to the max. Since it was house music and dancing got a tad boring, my friends and I just started rating people. One by one we rated and rapped them with our brutal number system. We drank more and chilled. I like how it’s lounge-y and you can actually meet and talk to people here as compared to a regular club. Overall, my Dim Mak experience was Wack. But I still had a good time. The onions grilling in the hotdog stand outside smelled so good when we decided to leave… I wish I would have gotten one! Haha whatta fatty hindsight!

Came on a Tuesday night, which apparently is a really fun night to come. There were definitely a lot of people, but we had to pay $ 10 and $ 15 for cover when I heard it was only going to be $ 5. Lame. Anyways, the best part was open bar(I think it stops at 10:30). That made up for everything. Oh, save $ 4 for the yummy hotdogs for sale outside afterwards. The atmosphere is OK, it’s not club-like at all. More like a lounge with a smallish dance floor. I don’t know if it was just that night but there were a TON of dudes, like 10:1. There’s another room in the back too. Overall, the place felt dirty and just kinda… «meh». As Serena T. mentions, it doesn’t look like the pictures at all. I probably will not be returning.

Dim Mak, DIM Mak, Dim MAK, DIMMAK! I think I can stop there and people get my love of this place, but I’ll elaborate the whys and environment shizzaz I love Steve Aoki. He’s a sweetheart to talk with and also such an energetic powerhouse that it sets the tone and bar for everyone else. I love when DJ’s lose their damn minds and just go and dance for a bit… then realize oh shit I’m fucking DJing! Go back to that, mix and head bang some more. I like big epic sounds and it’s not for everyone, but the Dim Mak night usually does that nu-electro right with people like Bloody Beetroots, Them Jeans, etc throwing down. I like the ambiance, its cozy. I dont like some of the layout as sometimes it makes it a clusterbitchfight to get to another place but thank God they dont sardine this place like some clubs do. It’s a nice space, but its pretty ghetto fabulous in a hipster way… plastic cup dranks abound. Sometimes there’s cups, but I honestly think my friend brings his own cups for the bartenders to store as we were the only ones with cups. I never asked why we had real cups but either way it’s balling and legit. Hahaaa Doesn’t have to be glittery to be a pimp cup, Baby Boo! I’ve gone and over done partying that it’s almost embarrassing to have been spending more time at clubs each week than all other things combined before. This, oddly has a special-ness that none of the«hot spots» really make me feel and I can’t wait to come back to it after all this«cool down» period. Here, you will find me being the old crazy self… then I can come back to reality and go back to being my «adult responsible Vegas suburban living self again.(Who would’ve thought? Me– a suburbanite. Le shock!). Doesnt even have to be a Dim Mak Tuesday(wheres Banana Split?!), the spot has a penchant for drawing in good names from all divisions of electronica art. The drum and bass nights have been pretty awesome in the past.

How was my NYE at Cinespace? Well, it ended with a trip to the ER after staff, security, and bouncers at this place proved negligent after an incident occurred. For legal reasons(and safety) I will not be returning to Cinespace.

I was there on a Tuesday. The crowd is supposedly 21+, but most people inside look way younger. Maybe I’m just gettin old. The music was indie/electro. There were a lot of people inside but it didn’t feel packed. Didn’t have to wait long to get drinks. Getting in wasn’t a problem. And there were sitting areas inside. If the music was different I’d definitely go back.
