Crate 88 Fine Art Handling

This is the WORST shipping company I have ever dealt with. They are completely unprofessional. Crate 88 is charging me an extra $ 170 because they they only had one man to move my 300 lb crate from the gallery to the truck and had to do a reschedule a pickup with an extra person. They say this was the gallery and my fault, not theirs. I paid over $ 2000 for the delivery and pick up from a Seattle gallery.
I was also notified that the one of the guys picking up wasn’t considerate of the fragility of my artwork and was willing to turn the crate over or do whatever was necessary to just get the job done.
The senior person, Victor, said «you don’t want to charge the gallery for the extra cost because I you trying to «please your ‘little gallerist.’ and are scared to offend him.» I was not notified of the issue with delivery until weeks later. Victor also accused me of not reading my invoice with the details of the charges, which I never received. I appreciate a shipping company that is communicative and wants to work together in the future. Victor made no effort to be kind and accommodating-​just the opposite. He was very insulting and rude.

Great small art handling firm, I have used them countless times, and Jose and Kim are the best. Victor is funny and the voice of laughs over the phone, female owned and operated. Independent, go here before LA Packing! Tip Jose and Kim.
