Dr. Bluestone was the PCP for my good friend’s son so naturally when she had her second child he came by Cedars to check out the newborn. Lucky for me, I was visiting her and got to see him in action. WOW. He literally a walking encyclopedia of medicine.. . My friend’s first had a rare blood disorder that no other doc in the area was familiar with but Dr. Bluestone knew it.. . he had served in the armed forces(as a doctor?) many years ago and a buddy of his had it. You can’t beat experience. I knew right then that he HAD to be my unborn child’s doctor.. . heck, I wished he could be my doctor. I didn’t even contact Dr. Bluestone to ask him if he was taking any new patients.. . I didn’t research any other docs.. . I was so confident in Dr. Bluestone that I just gave his name when I had the baby. There’s never a wait at his office. We’d show up and usually be led right into the examination room. The baby then gets weighed and measured by the techs. Dr. Bluestone then performs the check up. The basics of the check up are the same every visit but new checks will be added as your baby grows. He will also ask you questions about the baby’s progress. After the check up you move to his office. Here, it’s almost like he’s your mentor & you’re at university. This is where you really can tell that he has taught medicine for many years. He’ll go over what he’s noticed in the check up/tests and let you know what to expect with the baby in the next month. He’ll tell you what you can do as caretakers to help your baby in the next month. And you can talk to Dr. Bluestone about any concerns you have. My husband and I were never once rushed. Well, there isn’t a busy waiting room filled with patients because he needs the money to pay back his medical loans. No. This isn’t that office. This is a breath of fresh air.
