Don Toños Restaurant

Nice staff. Food was delicious. If you want anything spicy I guess you have to ask but it was incredibly flavorful nonetheless. They were probably just sizing up their mark. Two things surprised me here. 1) The food was plated in a very appealing way. Not ornate exactly, but you could tell someone cares back there. 2) Their fruit side was fresh and sweet. I usually steer clear of the fruit salad at cheap joints but this place is definitely an exception.

Just left the restaurant with my husband. Small place with very friendly service and delicious authentic Mexican food. They made tortillas chops right away and with the green salsa it was a killer. Will definitely come back

The food here is amazing– enchiladas, tacos, fajitas, taquitos, etc. family owned business that takes great care in preparing delicious and well crafted meals. I have used the owner twice to cater each of my daughter’s wedding receptions. Located in El Sereno not too far south of South Pasadena/​Alhambra. Parking on street around the corner from the restaurant. This place is a gem

5 stars for several things, food was spectacular, very nice young man who served me. 0 stars for his hair style blue red and black hair? (joke). Parking is rough but I dont care I will be back. Its good being the Weto de El Sereno. The other Unilocal reviews where spot on.

Exceeded my expectations! The prices are fair, the tacos and tortas (asada) went down great with some cold smoothies. Air conditioning is provided (great for the heat). Service was quick and friendly. Overall good experience.

A hole in the wall with 5 small tables and street parking only. Service was fast and friendly.
I had the carne asada burrito and it came with fresh fruits. Pros: hot, fresh, quality food. Cons: no seasoning and bland tasting. There’s potential for this to be a good burrito because the basic ingredients are good. It just lacks taste overall. The wrapper? No taste. The meat? No taste. The bean? No taste. The rice? No taste. The salsa? No taste. Well not really no taste but I was trying harder than needed to taste something. The sum was not greater than the parts.
The fresh juice smoothie was good though. I had the mango strawberry smoothie. It has good balance flavors and not overly sweet.
The price was $ 6 burrito and $ 2.5 smoothie. So the value is good but I don’t know if I’ll return. As I write this review I had already forgotten what the whole thing tasted like.

This place is amazing. I had been wanting to try this place for a while because it has such great reviews and because it was recommended to me. The food was incredibly delicious. Great service. Very kind and awesome people. It feels really cozy in there. I seriously need to steal this man’s recipe book.

This little whole in the wall is so delicious and seriously surprises me. It might be small but my does it’s food pack a punch. Family-​run business that has such caring individuals working there. Their salsas are one of a kind and they make your food taste so amazing! Prices are reasonable and the quality/​quantity of the food is perfect! May I say that it almost seems healthier then regular mexican food that you would get at other spots. Definitely healthier then the way I cook it lol

This hidden little spot is the best. Prices are reasonable and food is really good. Nothing too different from Mexican food but I can’t complain about food.

The hidden treasures of the inner city best burritos in town… Especially with the guacamole cream they make!!! It was bomb !! Just tried their fajita tostada bowl whole lot chicken with great spice!!!

I can’t believe this place doesn’t have more Unilocal reviews! It is so yummy! This is actually my second time here in less than a week. First time I had a Carne Asada taco and a Potato Taco. The Carne Asada was outstanding and the potato was good too. Today I made a special trip to El Sereno just to bring my husband here! Here’s what we had:
Carne Asada Nachos — I was expecting shredded cheese and they came with cheese sauce, but they were still good and with regular jalapenos. Now I know where to get my bowling alley food when I’m craving it!!!
Carne Asada Tacos — same home run as last time!
Chicken Tacos Dorados — crunchy and excellent
All of this was way too much food for the two of us but we ended up eating it all because it was so great!

Great little restaurant! The open early with yummy smoothies priced right at $ 2.50. They have a varied menu with sandwiches and salads. They also do Mexican food which was fresh and really tasty. I tried the spicy chicken enchiladas which came with rice and beans. Filled with chicken breast and great sauce that finished with a kick. my husband had a carne asada burrito filled with meat and came with a side of fresh fruit which was a nice twist. They are only open til 5pm so get down there early. They also do take out. I was told they will have a new menu soon and we look forward to coming back and trying more!
