Located across the street from a major hospital, DOT can be a bit hectic to get to during the rush hour. Thank goodness for the valet because street parking is pretty much non-existent in/around the restaurant. DOT’s space sort of takes you away to a different place and time when you enter. The patio in front is raised up and away from the sidewalk for a chill-like feel and gives you all the privacy you might crave. The space inside is open, boutiquey with exposed wood frames, has skylights and big windows throughout that offer lovely lighting, and provides an almost a cabin-like welcome. The menu during our visit was a set one because we were here for a birthday event. The tomato/moz and sausage/mushroom flatbread pizza were delish! Our entrees of salmon nicoise salad, chicken and mache salad, and penne bolognese were incredibly tasty. The mache salad is topped with candied pecans and grapes that offered perfect texture to the fresh greens. Service was spot on despite our huge crowd and was attentive at all times. What an awesome space to hold a special event in this atrium like section of DOT on the second floor. Must get back here for some private time and noshing! On the pricier side but the service and quality measured up.

Duplex is such a cozy, charming space with furry pillows and tufted furniture. And they have an especially great happy hour from 4 – 7 during the week with small plates and wine/drinks. Parking is always dicey in this part of town, but valet is only $ 4, or if you arrive before 6pm, you can probably find street parking on the surrounding streets.
