I must give their website writers a lot of credit — they somehow made this sound like a good idea. In reality, it’s a gym full of grown men throwing objects at you as hard as they possibly can. It’s too crowded to be able to see all the objects potentially about to hit you, and you will get hit a lot, and some of the times it will hurt. I don’t recommend it. Good news is, they won’t all hit you in the head. Bad news is, the ones you remember will. If that’s your idea of a lazy Sunday, go for it.

Yeah, I know. You saw that movie with Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller too. But do people actually play dodgeball in real life, with funky costumes, and a pirate? Yep, you betcha. Maybe minus the pirate. Enter Eagle Rock Yacht Club(see what they did there?) that not only has full grown adults running around throwing balls at you, but the ulterior motive is to hang out and do some good for the community. What good can a group of hundreds of people do for their community? Well, you’re going to be challenged to give clothes or food to a charity, give your time to kids’ after school programs, cultivate a community garden, teach healthy-eating cooking classes for kids, and«do good.» Besides benefiting the common good and getting some exercise, you’re going to meet a bunch of fun cool people. For starters, they go for beers and camaraderie at the local Verdugo Bar after working up a sweat on the dodgeball court. Then groups of people get together for bike rides, museum visits, chess games… you name it. No, getting hit by a ball does not hurt one bit.
