Seekers of comfortable opulence may think they’ve died and gone to heaven when they arrive at this posh urban spa. Less formal than other spas in the municipality’s chain, the Echo Park Lake Shallow Pool is perched on a knoll overlooking the splendid 101 Freeway. The open-air ladies room made of resplendent concrete is attractively decorated in mellow shades of governmental gray. A helpful attendant inside may offer clients a hot gravel backrub or a parking lot pedicure — both rate highly among the spa’s many fine civic services. Poolside, as you admire the resort’s breathtaking freeway views, guests are spritzed every so often with bottles of water and empty Big Gulp cups by attentive passersby. The outer beauty of the setting will soon be mirrored within. Among the zen-like oasis’s many charms is the descent from the pool to the walkway where guests may be overcome by the powerful scentualizations of Awakening Masculine Wisdom or Scent of the Golden Dew. Nearby, guests will find the resort’s flag-ship fine dining restaurant on wheels, parked two blocks east. After admiring stunning sunset panoramics reflected in the pristine alpine Echo Lake, male guests may choose to wander across the street into the park in search of a complimentary loving hands massage.

i feel bad giving this pool a bad rating cuz it’s not really their fault, but this place is gross. we went because my roomate was babysitting a four year old that’s afraid of the water and it was the first one we found that he could walk around in without his head going under. that’s it and that’s all. this place had nothing else to offer. it was so stinky(lots of homeless around and the walkway to the pools reeked like urine). it was dirty due to this as well. there was no room around the pool to even lay out a towel and consequently you are only allowed to bring flip flops and tanning lotion up to the pool– no towels. my roomate spoke to one of the workers about the lack of cleanliness specifically on the stairs going to the locker rooms. she said that the city owns it and they have repeatedly asked them to do something about it but the city ignores them. they try to wash it down with a water hose, but that’s about all they can do. so this place is really terrible, but not because of the workers or anything. the place just sucks. if feel bad for them, but i think even they would give themselves only one star and show it to the city and they’d probably still get ignored.
