Is there an option to give this place zero stars? It’s the only thing they deserve! Just left the place with over 60 $ bill, I asked for something weird covered in chocolate and I wanted to make sure that there was no cinnamon in it, of course after the first bite I could taste a strong flavor of cinnamon! My friend paid the bill so I kindly asked a girl to refund her for the disgusting piece of pastry I was disappointed with, and I also made clear that there was a lot of cinnamon(what if someone is seriously allergic?!?)… No money back, no chances of talking to a manager/owner. First and last time there, don’t waste your time. Customer service close to zero.

Horrible customer service, I felt as if I was annoying them by placing an order. Also, got at least a 2 day old éclair, the bottom fell out when I went to take a bite, and I got a nasty prune muffin after confirming twice if it was a blueberry muffin… all in all spent $ 15 bucks! on a muffin, éclair, danish(which was decent) and a cup of milk. Overpriced and low quality with bad service, trifecta of uh-un.

Went this morning to have a breakfast with friends the food was really not good and the pastries very old not fresh I believe they put some shortening in the cream when I try to talk to one of the employees they can’t answer to my question I believe this place need to have less then one star.

It’s a great bakery, they produce high quality baked goods. I was there today and bought some Hanukkah donuts. My concern wasn’t with the quality or the service, but rather the behavior of the owner towards her employees, a bitter woman with a permanent frown etched on her face. There was a bit of a line for the(one) cash register, but the ladies working had already helped all the people in line. The owner started barking orders at her employees in front of all the customers. I felt embarrassed for her to be acting like that, especially since everyone had already been served… I also felt sorry for the employees, I suspect they endure this abuse on a regular basis. The owner’s daughter, who was working at the register, apparently also picked up on the drama and told her mother of in Farsi…

The older woman with red hair kept interrupting the woman taking orders. We had to tell her to stop and she just had an attitude. Bathrooms are not serviced, didn’t have soap once when I came and the the next time they didn’t refill Toilet paper or toilet seat covers.

This place was disgusting. First of all the staff there is so rude and not helpful. They made a mistake on my order and ended up wanting to charge me 11.00 dollars for a bagel and cream cheese, when I asked why it was so expensive, she told me it was a mistake but she couldn’t exit out of the screen because she put the order through so if she could just charge me and then take my information and reimburse me at the end of the day?!? No! Then I got my bagel and it was stale! The food is not fresh ATALL. The manager refused to give a refund or give me something in exchange! The other person I was with also had issues with her order and the owner was so rude! She doesn’t respect her customers at all! She should not be in the restaurant business or in front of people at all! Please do yourself a favor and do not go there! She does not deserve your business!!!

Walked in with my husband for breakfast Sunday morning. Went to the counter and scanned the display … My eyes were greeted by a tray of MOLDY shriveled melon, next to a tray of clearly graying and mushy cut strawberries and other fruit. I asked my husband to notify the manager because they could get FINED for that … He tells her, she says«oh it’s still there from Friday closing«(they are closed from Friday afternoon until Sunday am) the cut up fruit has been sitting unrefrigerated the whole weekend … She send her worker to check it out. The girl comes over, opens the display pulling out the tray. She chucks the melon but after a 2 second inspection she determines the strawberries are fine … Puts them back right before my eyes saying«the rest are still fine ». Holding back my gagging I pulled my husband out of there. We went somewhere else but I was still nauseous. Thanks Eilat bakery .you totally deserve the A you have in the window

oh no… what have I done?! I went in here thinking it was Beverlywood bakery! :(duh, my fault for not realizing my mistake until I had paid and saw the bakery’s name on the receipt!!! Stupid, I now. They are renovating and had some tarps and ladders outside the establishment. I thought maybe they had changed the name, I mean, what are the odds of there being 2 bakeries in a 1 block radius? Anyway… I looked and there were about 4 cakes. I chose the opera one, paid $ 37.00 for it. I was disappointed upon reading the reviews, HOWEVER, was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the cake was! I took it for a co-worker’s birthday lunch and EVERYONE loved it! Got so many compliments on how moist it was, how good the chocolate tasted and how fresh it was. I wouldn’t skip this little bakery without first trying it. Customer service was wanting, but it was a Wednesday at 7:30am, maybe it was a rough week, maybe something else is going on in life… I don’t know. We all have good and bad days, I suppose. I’d say try it before totally skipping it, and always remember to take Unilocal reviews with a grain of salt :) will definitely keep in mind next time I need an opera cake!

The product isn’t fresh and instead of an apology the owner argues with the customer that’s been going there for 20 years. How cheap of the owner for the cost of $ 3,not make a customer happy Bad product Bad business etiquette

I just want to say, I don’t know how this place is still open, yet alone has another revenue. The owner is just like a bunch of business owners I’ve met in the past, horrible costumer service and thinks she can get by that way. I was trying to apply for a job here, and just on the first day, I was thrown into the open to speak to customers. Which is not a problem, I am not«shy» as the owner liked to tell me I was. The problem was that she gave me literally no training or over view before-hand. You see the problem with this is that she most likely does that to all her employees. Meaning, every time someone asks a question about an item, I had to run to another employee and ask them to find an answer(which is again, not a problem.) but each customer has more than one question, so imagine an employee doing that each time. That would annoy the customers and make not me, but the place look very bad. She herself was also very rude to customers. I noticed as well,(as someone who has worked in several restaurants) that the rags they use had no proper ‘bleach bucket’ meaning none of them were properly sanitized. On top of that little fact, they wash all the dishes for their café area with an old sponge and HANDSOAP. ALSO their employee bathroom’s sink is not working, so they do not wash their hands as they leave. Of course they would have to wash out in the front of the restaurant. I could not get myself to want to work here, and even eat their food. I could have dealt with the horrible boss(who was very threatening even if I haven’t started working and told me that she withholds the first 10 hours of your work for 3 months to make sure you stay, which is very illegal) I could have seriously just brushed her off because I needed the job, but this place is disgusting. Please do not give people who do little for their business and customers the power to do it some more with your money.

Really just underwhelmed by the value of this food. They were slow to take our order and my $ 10 bagel with lox was quite mediocre. I would value it at about $ 4-$ 5, meaning I would have felt my money was well spent if it had cost that much. The bagel and lox is worth maybe $ 4. For $ 10 I could practically buy a whole pack of wild caught smoked salmon, a container of cream cheese, and a pack of bagels.

Note: The business hours posted on Unilocal for Eilat Bakery are not correct. They close at 9:00PM not 10:00. Now, back to your regularly scheduled review. I needed a cake for my most important coworker’s birthday. Another coworker recommended I come here. Came by two nights ago to order the cake and they were already closed(see above). So the next day I went to Whole Foods(it’s close to where I work) and looked at their cakes and asked about having«Happy Birthday» and my coworker’s name written on it and was told«sorry, we need 48 hours notice». I needed the cake today and had resigned myself that I couldn’t get one decorated. I was just going to get one at Whole Foods and let it go at that. But I couldn’t. On my way to work I decided that I would give Eilat Bakery another chance. Pulled up out front and went in and was greeted by a man who asked if I needed help. I explained my situation and his response was«No problem. Sure, I can do that». He asked me to write my coworker’s name and in less than 10 minutes I walked out of Eilat Bakery with a fabulous 7 Layer(yummy) Chocolate cake. All my coworkers loved it but especially the birthday girl. She was ecstatic!(I cheated and asked one of her best friends what her favorite cake was). Shhhh… don’t tell anyone. Doh!!! After paying for the cake I explained about the mistake about the business hours. He was extremely apologetic and sorry that I had made the wasted trip. Please try this bakery for yourself. I’m so glad I gave them a second chance.

I wish I came to Unilocal before I ate here. I bank at chase next door so I thought it would be more convenient than the other bakeries I like. Its really not. First they skipped over me in line in favor of some shmeggegge in a kippah.(I wear a kippah under my sports cap so no one really knows what’s my story.) Then, they gave me a «stuffed pita». its a sliced closed face sandwich on a pita. Not stuffed at all. It made a difference to me because I don’t like when food just spills all over. I prefer a stuffed pita or a larger bread so there is less mess. I asked for harrissa and they looked at me like I asked for mars rocks. Alao, The«day old» black and white cookie felt hard as a rock. I used to be a baker and I feel like it’s three days old. I hope i remember not to eat here again

Oh boy where do I start. This place used too be decent I guess, but the last several times have been horrific. Went in to get a couple boxes of sweets for a dinner I was invited too, there where flies in the showcase, when I brought it up too the clerks attention she Rudely looked at me and said so what do you want me too do about it… I was shocked, it literally seems like the people working there are doing they’re best so you don’t shop, HOWISTHISPLACEEVENOPEN

If anyone believes these 5 star reviews… believe me they came from the owners, employers, or friends of either. just to keep the doors open. Well, I’m calling the health department, the better business association. Let them open this restaurant in Israel, where they really appreciate bad food. l

Do not go to this restaurant avoid it like the plague! the owner practices discrimination she clearly said that she couldn’t believe that I was Jewish and refuse to serve us food! The only reason I gave it one star is because I couldn’t post this review without a star. Also, she did serve us our meal and refused to refund our money. We walked out of the store without eating, even though one of staff members admitted that she served us the wrong food.

I stopped by this Jewish bakery for a quick cup of coffee and pastries. It’s cute and spacious inside. My pastry was fresh and coffee was good. There was a corner sink that you can wash your hands without going to the restroom. They keep the area nice and clean. There were many seafood dishes on the menu, and yes, this is a bakery. I was told that Eilat was a name of a seaport. Ah ok, now I see why they have many kinds of fish sandwiches on the menu. I didn’t have time to try those this time but definitely would like to come back for them. The service was ok. They weren’t rude or anything. Hope I won’t get a bad service and attitude as other Unilocalers mentioned on their reviews and tips when I return. I will be back soon to find out.
