Very disappointed in this place. The service was the worst. Although, it was a holiday weekend, and the place was busy, I think the service could’ve been at least a little more decent. Sadly, I will never eat here again. It was also too pricey for the quality.

Best food on the street. My wife and I drive from Orange County just to have lunch. Been coming here for over Thirty years.

I’ve been coming here since before I was born(figure that one out) and I’ll say that the quality of the food never ceases to amaze me. My go to meal the #3 with an additional side of 2 taquitos because let’s keep it real, 3 taquitos, salad and beans just is not enough. I am a lifelong customer. The server does not age. I can remember him as a kid and I swear he looks the same.

Don’t try any other place … This place is 4th generation family owned. I have been ordering the number 3 for 30 years! It used to be $ 3.50 but now it’s $ 6.50 still worth the drive and wait! The taste brings back great memories of pre game Dodger baseball meals. If you want to start a family tradition eat here because this place will be here for the next 100 plus years. Great taste, great service, great times!

The best place anywhere for hard tacos! Been going there for years and would rather eat there than a 5 star restaurant. Their tacos are made just like your mama used to make them. Ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. For a little extra, have some guacamole put on them. The tacquitos are delicious as are their pork burritos and bean & cheese burritos. I highly recommend everything on their menu. The service is great(Debbie) and fast. Try it, you won’t be disappointed!

My late grandma Anita brought me here for the hard shell ground beef tacos when I was young & we loved them… Now I bring my boys here & their favorite is the shredded beef, bean & cheese burrito. The best part are the green chiles in the beef broth, we top it off with more green salsa served on the table, it’s spicy and memorable.

Very pricey for what it is. Sub par service Sub par dining area. The food was not very fresh. For what I paid I could’ve ate at many of the sit down restaurants next to this establishment. The authenticity of the food was there it just did not taste very good. The chili was watery and had no flavor.

«4th generation at your service since 1930.» El Rancho grande is must. Located in the heart of Olvera Street, this charming Mexican joint offers culture, consistency and delicious food. Whether you want a snack or full meal, you can get full here. The prices are low and la comida es tan rica!

I have been eating here since before I could walk. Or talk. Or breathe, actually. From the WOMB! No joke. These guys have watched us grow up, and we have been coming here, faithfully, through the years. The special is off the charts. i’m not sure what type of heroin they use for the guacamole sauce, but it’s top notch. Once you’re hooked, there’s no release from its powerful clutches. Tell them the Johnsons sent you.

We had such a wonderful experience at El Rancho Grande! The food was excellent, the service was top notch and we even had entertainment from a live mariachi band! We will definitely be returning!

Tiny spot in the middle of Olvera St, and is super worth it! They have a pork wet burrito that taste just like nana’s(my grandmas) recipe. The guy that helped us was super nice and was quick with food and refills.

Delicious enchiladas. It kind of tripped me up to not see the cheese melted on top but it still ended up being really good.

Best tacos and taquitos in Olvera Street. I especially love the avocado sauce and chili. Been coming here for years. Everyone there is so attentive. They work so hard there and I don’t know how they do it in those hot days, but they always have a smile on their face and are so nice. Debbie and the guys are the best. The prices make this spot an even better stop for homemade Mexican food. Been to the other places in Olvera Street and the service and food don’t even compare to El Rancho Grande. If your visiting Olvera Street make this your stop for food I guarantee you won’t be let down.

I’ve been eating at El Rancho Grande since before I was born, and nothing has changed but their price and they added rice to the menu! 30+ yrs later I still love it! I love everything about this place. Their taquitos with their guacamole sauce is finger licking good. Can’t ever have enough of those! Their enchiladas are really good also, covered in their signature red sauce that tastes home made. AND I love that they give you a little side of salad with Italian dressing. The prices are a steal and the guys that work there and Debbie(works week days) are super nice! As long as El Rancho Grande is there, I will continue eating there and hopefully one day bring my kids!

This is why I come to Olvera St! No salad, extra beans please! I’ve been eating here since the beginning of time, and the gentleman who took my order, has been working here longer than I’ve been coming here!

I was looking for a great Mexican restaurant in Olvera street that doesn’t cater towards white tourism, and I think I’ve found the place! Their two taquitos, taco, and beans plate is such a steal. Their avocado sauce is the best I’ve had from all the other places in Olvera Street as well – I wish they sold it in a tub so I could take it home! The taquitos were crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside, and the beef was flavorful and not dry! Their beans are also quite amazing, they definitely know how to give the beans a good, home cooked quality taste that will remind you of your momma’s refried beans. They’ve also given me free horchata because I was a beautiful woman… okay, so I’m biased, but any place that gives me free horchata is automatically a winner.
