I have been going to Ellis Salon for over a year and I couldn’t be happier with the results. For years I would go to beauty schools and local mom/pop salons for $ 15-$ 30 hair cuts and I would dye my own hair with drug-store dyes(I know, blasphemy). Now well into my 30’s I decided it was time to grow up and get a «big girl» hair cut. I met Stacey through a mutual friend and it wasn’t until after a year or two after knowing her that I decided to stop by for my first haircut. My hair had been growing out for over a year, it was long, dry, tons of split ends, a complete disaster really. She worked her magic! I told her I wanted an edgy haircut but still professional enough that I could still go to work in a fairly conservative work environment. She nailed it! She cut probably 4+ inches off, did a color gloss treatment and gave me a natural color. I told her I’m super low maintenance so I wanted a haircut/color that would last. I now visit her every 8 – 10 weeks and its only because my grey hair starts to show. The cut grows out perfectly and the color, although it fades with time, turns into a new shade that I still get compliments on it. Stacey goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable in her space. The playlist is perfect, although we are talking most of the time, the décor(grey and yellow) is so chic and the location is easy to get to — refreshments anyone? She’s got you covered! She also takes great care in making sure she documents your color history. I had never seen this before, but she takes a book out and jots down the colors she used to make sure the blends are just right. She’s also very meticulous in all the little edges but still is conscientious of time. Once I told her, I have to leave early so I can’t do color, she said, don’t worry, I’ve got you and was able to get it all done in a little over an hour — WOW! As they say, you get what you pay for! It truly is an investment in yourself but when you look great, feel great, people feed off that energy! I’m happy to pay significantly more for a cut that makes me feel kick-ass afterwards compared to the past haircuts where I was disappointed and stuck with a crappy job until it grew out — it really does affect you! I always feel great after a haircut at Ellis Salon and I strongly recommend her! See you in 8 weeks! :-)

When my usual hairstylist was unavailable for my wedding, my maid of honor recommended that I use Stacey for hair and makeup. As I always admired my friend’s haircuts, I agreed to check her out. Stacey was so easy to get along with and seemed to know exactly what I was looking for, so I booked her for the job. On the day of my wedding, she executed the look I wanted, and went far beyond my expectations! I received so many compliments on my hair and my makeup stayed just how I wanted it to all day long. I still get compliments from friends and family on how great I looked! Since then I’ve switched over to her for my regular cut, and she continues to nail it. I’m one of those people that always gets told I should go short and when I do I hate it. Stacey managed to kill it in this department as well — I be never been so satisfied with going shorter. Plus she is as sweet as she is talented!

I have been going to Stacey for years. She’s amazing, I followed her from Byu-ti. Even the actual salon is adorable, she obviously put a lot of work into it. Plus she’s really easy to talk to, which is great because we all know how awkward those few hours spent alone with the person doing your hair can be. I won’t let anyone else color my hair. I can’t say enough good things about her.

Stacey came highly referred(by a great stylist) but my experience was disastrous. I came in wanting Arizona Muse’s hip bob and said I didn’t want a bowl cut. She gave me a bowl cut. I have been spending the last few months trying desperately to grow my hair out with the help of expensive hair pills. Not to mention the lack of confidence from the way I look and the whole experience. Its been a horrible experience overall and one I won’t be able to put behind me for some time.

Stacey is as good as it gets! I’ve been getting my hair cut with her for 4 years + I ALWAYSLOVE my cut! She’s creative, talented + most importantly, she listens! She provides solid styling tips, she’s always a super sweetheart + it’s a joy to be in her chair — and yes, her warm New Zealand accent + gentle spirit make her irresistible! Her prices are in par with her high-quality service + she’s worth every penny! Parking is a breeze under the building + she’ll make sure your validated. If you are seeking a new stylist — I can assure you, Stacey will not disappoint! Love her!

Ellis Salon is the première salon for women and men whose hair matters. I moved to LA just over a year ago and was fortunate to be referred to Stacey Ellis. I could go on and on about Stacey, but suffice it to say she is SIMPLYTHEBEST! She goes above and beyond to provide five-star service and really knows her stuff. Thank you Stacey for always making me look my best!

LOVE!!! Ellis Salon is tucked in the new Sola Salon Studios. The atmosphere is so open and cheery. Stacey does amazing coloring and cuts. The prices are in-line with higher end salons in LA and so worth it as the colors and cuts last. She also does make-up. Park in the garage around the corner. Ellis Salon validates for two hours of parking.
