This place has normally pretty good service but tonight the bartender Damion, really blew it for us. He gave an open seat at the bar my wife and I were waiting for to a pair of women. Also, Damion informed us we could it order off of happy hour because he could not handle the volume. We finished our drinks standing and left asap. We’ll try another place instead of coming back here.

I usually love this place. My husband and I are regulars here. But tonight, they may have lost us. We came at around 6:30 and knew we might not get a table by the end of happy hour, but we thought we would try. The guy behind the bar, was so rude, we didn’t even want to stay to eat. First, he wouldn’t let us order food. Then when a seat at the bar opened up right in front of where we were sitting, he offered it to other people(who were there after us, yet he claimed they were there before us. And either way, bar is open seating). so he did let us order one small appetizer and then he said«what are you going to do, eat it standing up?» With the same condescending ride tone he had been using the whole time. I remember the guy, because last time we were here he was speaking down to him in front of customers. So sad that one person can ruin an amazing restaurant!

During Happy Hour this might be one of the top sushi places in LA. You can’t go wrong picking *literally anything* from the bottom-half of the Happy Hour Menu. My two favorites are the Calamari Tempura Roll and the Philly Unagi Roll, but really, all of the ones I’ve had a chance to try have been delicious!

One of the best sushi places. Was there last week on Wednesday afternoon. The place was packed. The food was amazing. It was me and my 2 boys and my friend with her kid. We all enjoyed every order and kept ordering more. The place was clean the atmosphere light and the service was prompt and kind. The only thing I hope they can maybe improve on is there waiting area as there is none. and it was very crowded and un comfortable. Fortunately not for too long. I would recommend them and would definitely go back.

Went there for dinner last night with an out of town visitor and had a really good meal. Sushi was fresh and delicious. Happy they are back on track!

Great sushi! I’ve been coming here for years. The fish is always super fresh and their special rolls are really filling and delicious. They have a large selection of rolls so you’re always bound to find something to please your appetite. Happy hour menu also features amazing deals. $ 1 sake can’t be beat — and goes well with the beach salmon roll, rainbow roll, and discounted sushi selection. Great place to bring friends. Love this place and will keep coming back.

Happy hour is everyday 3−7pm. Late happy hour is Thurs 9:30−11pm & Sun 9:30 — 10:30pm. FYI– the 8% off check in on Unilocal cannot be used during happy hour! Valet is $ 3.50, but there’s also metered parking on the street. Surprisingly when we came during happy hour it was pretty slow, good news for us! The garlic albacore sashimi & salmon sushi is bomb dot com. Quality of the fish was really good. The service was also great– the waiters are very nice & quick too! Will definitely come back whenever I’m in the area.

My favorite is the yellowtail sashimi. The sauce it comes with is so delish that I dip everything else in there too. The albacore roll with crispy onion is really good too(forgot the name). Haven’t had anything I didn’t like here. Great quality fish. Valet in the back

5 Star Sushi! My favorite place in LA to get sushi, especially on the West side. I’ve tried a bunch of places after living here for 3 years and En Sushi NEVER disappoints. I probably come once a week to get my Crispy Onion Albacore roll fix! It’s magical! But so is everything on the menu! They have a great happy hour, yummy beers/drinks, and freshest fish. The service is always on point too! We’ve never had to wait and I tell all my friends to come to En Sushi!

The sushi was good. Before coming here during happy hour, decide what is more important to you-happy hour food prices GOOD service. I came here for the first time and I enjoyed the sushi and the happy hour menu, however the service was horrible. When I rate restaurants, I’d only read them on their food I read them on the overall experience, which very well includes the service– which is why I gave them three stars. We had to ask for the check three times and 20 minutes went by until they finally brought the check. Not to mention it took a very long time to get one of our rolls, in fact so long that the sushi didn’t even come out until after we got our check, How ridiculous is that?! And to make things worse, the sushi that they brought wasn’t even the right one so we had to wait another 20 minutes to finally get the actual sushi we ordered in the first place. The place has a nice atmosphere with a very friendly looking bar, seems like a nice hot spot to come when the sun goes down. But like I mentioned it doesn’t seem like they have enough servers here since the service is extremely slow and when you ask for something it takes quite a while to receive it.

For the price, you can’t beat this place. Their rolls are exceptional, and I’ve been fortunate to always receive good service. I’ve gone enough times to the point where some of the waiters recognize me. Let me break it down more in detail though. 1) Ambiance — As soon as you walk in, you’ll notice that it provides a really nice atmosphere for both taking someone out on a date, or even just having a casual dinner. Somehow, it is able to pull it off. If you feel like watching the game(which ever sport), they have a couple of tv’s that you can watch on the left side of the restaurant. The rest of the place is dedicated to having a nice meal with someone. I like this, as it can cater to various people. 2) Food — I usually only get the rolls here, because I feel that it’s their strongest point. I haven’t tried any of the other dishes yet(so I guess that could be the next thing I try). I guess some could argue that there rolls are standard, but I’ll have to disagree and say that they’re pretty damn good. The one thing I wouldn’t really recommend though, is the sashimi. I’ve had fresher/better at Hide Sushi on Sawtelle. This alone isn’t enough to make me knock off a star. 3) Customer Service — As I mentioned previously, I’ve always had good service. The model they run is that several people will come by to see how you’re doing. I find this to be effective, so that you’re never wondering, «why hasn’t anyone come by to help us?». Although several people come by to check on you, you still have a main waiter who takes everything down. Ask for a guy named Richard! He’s one of their best waiters and has always given me great customer service. 4) Price — For sushi, alcohol, the ambiance, and the service you receive, the price is extremely reasonable. Especially if you’re on a date, you don’t have to burn a hole in your wallet just to treat them nice. And if you go during happy hour(which ends at 7p), then it’s even cheaper! I went the other night, and made happy hour by one minute(they were nice enough to accommodate us) and we ordered 3 rolls(crunchy, spicy tuna, in and out), a bottle of sake, and a cocktail and the total bill was only 40 bucks. Pretty good right? All in all, this place is awesome and is easily one of my go to places on the west side.

This is set to be a new fave. I was recommended this place by a friend that has become a regular, and it did not disappoint. The happy hour menu is fantastic, goes until 7, and actually has dishes you would want to eat(on its list, ie edamame, crunch roll, salmon hand roll, etc). The décor is nice, ambience is relaxing, and service is great(our server was hilarious, and had every refill on the table before having to ask). I left fat and happy for $ 20, can’t ask for much better than that here(especially here in the land of overpriced everything). Parking was easy on the meters right out front, the menu was extensive otherwise, the quality of food was good. I’ll definitely be back soon, thanks En Sushi.

Favorite roll was the happy hour Pokemon roll! I never imagined lettuce being such an amazing compliment to sushi, but it was simply delicious with the creamy house made sriracha mayo. Definitely my favorite plate I ordered and almost ordered a second plate. Ample parking in the neighborhood in the streets behind, if you don’t mind walking a block or two! The service was slower, but we came mid afternoon so they probably had less staff. The atmosphere was really great also! I always peer in through the big glass window, and I’m glad I got to finally dine in. Love the modern Japanese ambiance/decoration, it feels relatively new and my table and table settings were not sticky or oily to the touch. Servers were extremely friendly also.

found this place after our message and fell instantly in love. The service is great and the sushi is plentiful. I personally like the veggie wrap sushi but everything here is pretty good. There’s a selected drink menu and there’s a bar! The interior is great and there even a special table inside for a big party! It’s great location right on Santa Monica but I’m not sure how the parking is since we parked across in another establishment.

This is without a doubt my FAVORITE go-to sushi spot in LA. I am a west-side girl, so as you know in LA, convenience of location means A LOT. That’s not to downplay how amazing En Sushi is, but I’m also saying there are a ton of amazing hole in the wall sushi spots in every hood of this city. If you are in the West LA area though, this is the place to go! The service is always fast and friendly, and their happy hour menu is ridiculous(and by ridiculous I mean SO affordable it’s stupid). Ambiance is open and the interior is beautiful. Not super trendy like more expensive spots, but the big space with high ceilings, and dark leather booths by candle light offer much more than your average sushi spot. The menu is fun and has a ton of options. If you like traditional sushi OR sushi with lots of inventive, layered flavors– they cater to both. The food rivals Katsuya at a fraction of the price. I would even dare to say this is in my top three sushi spots in the COUNTRY. Favorite Rolls: Beach Salmon Roll(so refreshing!) Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna(classic) Crunchy Roll(another classic) Crispy Onion Albacore Roll Also– if you like dessert, they have mochi! If you don’t know what that is, it’s about time you tried it!

Okay I am starting to become slightly obsessed with this place. Besides the fact that this is one of the only full bar sushi spots in town it also has some of the best quality fish around for the price. The first time my GF and I came here we were lucky enough to have the freshest slices of yellowtail. So fresh the meat was still very pink(after about an hour it changes to a more white color). We have now become regulars and the servers(Rich and Jenn) greet us by name when we walk in the door every Thursday… Kind of like the show Cheers. Tonight however, we sat at the bar and had the pleasure of being taken care of by the sushi chef, Ken. He entertained us with facts about the fish quality and the standard they hold themselves to. After telling him how much we loved their uni he let us know that we were eating some of the best uni on the west side. Quality is so high that they really only have it on the menu as a service because they pretty much sell it at cost. Ken was also so kind to suggest that we try the blue fin today which is something I have tried before but at absurd prices like $ 16 per order($ 7 at En if you wanted to know). The tuna melts and all we had to use to chew was our tongues, which left me licking my chops like a fat purring kitten. He did mention that they are consistently striving to nab the best fish at the market daily, however this quality of blue fin only comes around once or twice a year so we got a really special treat and at a fraction of the cost it would be at a high end sushi restaurant. En Sushi consistently has shown us that they are a sushi lovers delight. Amazing quality, service and of course booze. See you guys after Christmas.

We were seduced by the happy hour menu. 3−7pm and 9:30pm to closing. There were $ 5 martinis, $ 4 rolls, $ 5 sashimi!!! Of course we way over ordered. What we should have remembered was you get what you pay for. The quality wasn’t the best. Nothing crazy, not like you’ll get sick, but just not like this-is-amazing-fish-I-love-every-bite quality. We especially realized it when we ordered items off the regular menu. The quality was substantially better!!! Overall I’d say stick to off the happy hour if you want above average. If you’re fine with average, go with the happy hour and get whatever you typically order(there aren’t any real standouts). You won’t be overly disappointed and you won’t be overly satisfied. PS. The drinks are STRONG! That’s where the real impressiveness in the happy hour menu comes in play! Plus the more you drink, the better the sushi will taste. Just sayin’…

HAPPYHOUR! We just stumbled on this place while riding our bikes to Santa Monica and saw my two favorite words — happy hour. Sake for a dollar, beers for $ 2.50 and they even had a food happy hour. The food wasn’t a huge discount from your typical sushi restaurant but I’m sure this spot pays a pretty penny for their rent. They have a full bar too! Servers were really nice and helpful and came by to check on us often. What we ordered : California Roll Tsunemono(cucumber salad) Shrimp Tempura Hand Roll Garlic Albacore Sashimi Hot Sake Kirin Light All of this was about $ 20 bucks! I didn’t order enough food to make a solid review on this place so I will definitely come back!
