Talk about flying under the radar Did that Jack Black movie Shallow Hal teach you absolutely nothing?! It’s not about the looks, it’s about what’s underneath! This nonchalant café tucked up in the lobby of the AON building in DTLA is so stealth you would never think to stop by unless you were really in need of coffee or something to drink. Little do people know they have a full menu that you need to get from the counter and a kitchen tucked up in back fully capable of making your favorite breakfast bites. Triple B = Beastly Breakfast Burrito Word on the street was that there’s an awesome breakfast burrito on this menu that no one knows about. I made the long and grueling 60 second trek across the street from my work in search of this mythical creature they speak of. After walking past the café twice I realized that the little coffee stand looking place was it! Had to ask them for the menu but sure enough, there it was twinkling in my eye…“Breakfast Burrito — Bacon, hashbrown sausage, eggs, cheese, spicy aoli”. I had to order it. Sure enough, a couple minutes later a wizard appeared from the small kitchen in back with my hot and steaming burrito. With the tortilla exterior still a little crispy from the grill I pealed back the foil and took a bite. Mother of God… it was glorious. How can a place like this birth just a thing of beauty. Cheese oozing out of the side as I try to lick it before it drips onto my hand. Just right right amount of spice to give it a kick from the aoli and tie all the ingredients together… the crispy bacon, the crunchy hash browns, the juicy sausage, and the unforgettable egg. Needless to say, this is my new morning routine.

Came in for my first time today! Friendly staff, I love the way everything is arranged inside. Ordered the French Kiss crêpe and our server had told us they had accidentally put graham crackers on it, but it was totally fine by me! Yummy snack! Can’t wait to come back. :)

This place is on the first floor of the AON center(office building). Really good bagels on a good day…$ 2 each. The lattes are also very good, but VERY hot. Over all, a great place to grab a quick bite, and is cheaper than starbucks or other café chains.

Useful addition to the AON building, considering the 6th floor cafeteria is whatever. What I like: –They serve Peet’s coffee :) –Have a nice variety of pastries –Fresh and yummy sandwiches for $ 6, and a half sandwich for $ 4 –There are plants and a waterfall in the eating area –Usually no lines at all

This is a great spot to grab a quick bite especially if you work in the AON building. Their sandwiches and salads are very tasty and fairly priced. They also have the soups of the day which are also very delicious.

The food is decent — but the prices are really good! A sandwich for $ 6, and a half sandwich for $ 4! They also have Thai Iced Tea for $ 2.50(S) and $ 3.00(M)… but I think they use regular milk instead of the condensed milk so it tastes watery — don’t get it. The sides are a good deal — a good sized styrofoam cup for $ 1.50… pastas are pretty good. Nice place to just eat lunch though — there’s plants and waterfall!

order a special for the day which was chicken piccata. the sauce was really heavy with a noticeable over-buttered taste. it was also very skimpy on the chicken, but real generous with the sauce over the rice which i wasn’t a fan of. coworkers ordered other various menu items and thought they were all average/mediocre. meh.

Welcome to the AON building little café! For those people who have been working in this building, consider this new little addition to the lobby as a gift for putting up with the building, ahem, «upgrade» which took over a year of construction. There’s nothing quite like the sound of jackhammers at 8 o’clock in the morning for weeks on end. But I digress… Garden Café has in its first month of business proven itself a valued addition to the breakfast/lunch rotation. They carry Peet’s coffee, have a nice variety of pastries, and your basic sandwich, wraps, and salad lunchtime offerings. I recently picked up their turkey-cranberry sandwich and was quite impressed by the bread they use. And considering the quality of ingredients, the price point is pretty exceptional. Nothing is over $ 6! Perfect when you don’t feel like eating a frozen lunch and don’t want to shell out $ 8 to $ 10 for a lunch you can’t finish(or shouldn’t finish) anyway. Here’s hoping they stick around!
