Eaten here a few times. Good food, good service, could be a little cheaper given how hole in the wall it is but overall still well worth it.

I love this place! I’ve been coming here since I was little with my family! Our to go spot every time we are in the area. The way you enter is through an alley and its hidden because theirs other little restaurants next to it. As you walk in the restaurant you can sit anywhere you want and the server comes right away. I always get the lunch special chicken boneless with the white rice — everything is well cooked and has the original flavor as I remembered when I was younger. I would definitely recommend people coming here and giving this place a try! This place never fails and I always walk out full and sometimes taking an order to go!

As Persian food goes we’ve all had better. After all this is Tehrangeles. But the service here was awful. I had to beg for bread. Once I asked the girl kept cleaning spraying cleaner all over instead of actually getting it. As for the dishes and silverware, dirty. When I pointed it out I had to remind them 2x to bring me clean new ones. The food was overly salted, they ran out of practically everything and the meat was so grizzly I felt like I was eating jerky. Won’t be returning.

This hidden gem was buried away in the alley of St. Vincent. Came here on a busy day with my aunt and boy it was a rough experience just to find this place. First, never ever if your life depended on it come on a Friday for lunch, unless you work in the area and can just walk. BIGMISTAKE! Parking was brutal and many lots were filled. Sadly, I ended up out of desperation paying $ 24 for some office building across Pershing Square. What a joke! I live exactly 12 mins from this place and legit had hell with the crowds and parking. Also, it got fairly crowded rather quickly, so my aunt and I ordered fast to beat the lunch hour rush. Everything was going fine and our food arrived with great presentation and very tasty too. We both opted for half rice/half salad and it was great with well-done salmon kabob. Honestly, the food did it for me. The wait-staff however, not so much. Super sweet people, but I legit flagged down our waitress for water several times; eating kabob and rice you need you water and to get the bill was a joke. Our waitress never brought our bill, so finally I flagged down the manager or owner waiving my hands like a crazy person out of desperation to pay for our lunch. Mind you I previously flagged him down because I was thirsty af. Either way, we got the bill squared away even though it took awhile. Good food, homey establishment, and kind people. It didn’t seem fair to give them 3 stars because the food was phenomenal so i put 4. Will come back not on Friday!

Best authentic Persian food I’ve ever had. Took my Iranian boss with me and he said it was the real deal. Tahdig and filet kabobs are delicious.

i would have to agree with other the other users. it is the best Persian good in the downtown vicinity. I’m Persian myself, and extremely picky with Persian restaurants. I would recommend this place over any other.

Food is delicious! We frequently order lunch from them to our office and we are never disappointed. Our favorites are the kashke badejnjan(sauteed eggplant) shirazi salad, chicken koubideh, koubideh kabob and the salmon. The portions are very generous and the food is always good. They also offer lunch specials for very reasonable prices. Highly recommended to either order from or go to!

During the past decade, I’ve come to eat at this restaurant periodically. The décor may have changed a bit, but the food is still great. This restaurant is located in St. Vincent Court, in the jewelry district in downtown Los Angeles. There is plenty of pay lots for parking in the surrounding streets. My dishes of choice are usually the barg or the chicken kebab. Both dishes come with bastami rice, a grilled tomato, and a salad. To top off the meal, I usually drink a cup of two of chai. Afshin and his business partner are pretty cool. They remember me, even after so long a time since my last visit. They know all their clients well, and are friends with the owners of the surrounding buildings. Needless to say, their customer service is on point. An added plus to this restaurant is the artwork. There were three paintings hanging inside the restaurant when I first discovered this place. Now there is one left, and I assume the other two got bought. I’m considering buying the one I took a photo of. I’ll be back to try out their other dishes. Stay tuned.

I love coming to this place! I always ask for Boneless Chicken for lunch special. Everything in their menu is a must try! I can say that this is my favorite Mediterranean restaurant and been eating here since 2005! They also deliver food in nearby offices and establishments.

Although this place is hidden, at the end of an alley, it is well worth finding. The food came out extremely fast, and it was really good. I recommend the chicken kabob, as it was amazing. The portions are fairly large. I got the lunch special and it came with chicken, saffron rice, and a salad. Well priced too.

Farid is hidden in the restaurant alley of the St. Vincents Plaza. I heard about this place from another friend, and I was doing business in the downtown Jewelry district, and so I decided to check this place out. The restaurant reminds me of those small«café– coffee shop» restaurants found in throughout Iran where business owners, customers and older men come together. They all sit around discussing the latest news, sports events and you will always see an older pair of Iranian men playing«Satranj» or «Chess» or Backgammon. I came into Farid and was immediately greeted by my hostess who gave me some fresh water to drink and a basket of warm pita bread, sliced onions and butter. I couldn’t decide on what to order so I got the Chicken shish kebab. Unlike many other Iranian restaurant, all of their entrees here come with half salad and half rice. My chicken shish kebab was cooked to perfection, with buttery white saffron rice and persian style tossed salad. There were chunks of bbq tomatoes, bell peppers, and onions in my chicken skewer. I liked the fact that they give you a good amount of rice, but its not a huge portion like many other Persian restaurants. They have a public restroom down the hall and they will give you the key to use the restroom. Overall I will say I am a fan, and I do recommend you come here if you are in the downtown Jewelry or garment district. It has pretty good food for the price and the quality. Its very tasty for an «outside food court» type establishment. There is no parking and you have to park in the St Vincents plaza structure in order to find a spot. I dont know if they are open really late at night, so if you are looking for a great place to get dinner, I dont know if they are open late at night after the jewelry district closes. Overall one of the better places to eat lunch in the jewelry district of Los Angeles

The Unilocal address listed for Farid Restaurant is completely wrong! We walked into 635 S. Broadway and it’s some sort of electronics store. Had to ask the guy if he knew of a Farid Restaurant after which he told us to loop around 7th and go through the alley… duh. From outside, the alley’s kind of dirty and noisy, but once we stepped inside the restaurant, it was quiet and a completely different environment. Had to wait a few minutes before the two guys that worked there even looked toward the door. Free lavash bread with butter and raw onions to start. I had the cornish hen lunch, coworker had the shish kabob. Basmatic rice was good although the little salad was kind of plain. Loved the cornish hen cuz although it was skinless, it had some sort of crunchy glaze over it. Not dry either. Price was a little high for the portion size. If you’re starving, you may still be hungry after eating the lunch specials. Waiter service needs improving. Took forever to get one of their attention for the check and the restaurant wasn’t full.

Hidden gem in St. Vincent’s Alley. Went with my boss for lunch yesterday and ordered the«Chicken Kubideh» lunch special for $ 7.99. This place was his recommendation and I was a bit skeptical. Ended up with a huge juicy and flavorful chicken skewer served with a roasted tomato, basmati rice with saffron, and small salad(see photo). Service was good and the food didn’t seem to take that long, especially when I kept looking at my watch to check time before a 1pm meeting. It’s a small place, not fancy. But the food was delicious and the price reasonable. The only issue was that people were smoking outside, so some of the smoke lingered inside. Will absolutely come here again and try other things on the menu.

Delicious Kubideh! What’s a kubideh you ask? It’s a minced meat kabob made from either beef, chicken or lamb. I absolutely love their Chicken and Beef Kubideh! It’s so tender, flavorful and oh so juicy… a MUSTORDER! Chicken or Beef Kubideh Lunch Combo($ 7.99) — 12inch long kubideh, fluffy rice, salad & a grilled tomato. Complimentary Bread & Butter: A MUSTVISIT when you’re in the Jewelry District!
