I used to go to pronto café because they are in the building where I work, but I feel like the owner or manager at pronto is in a bad mood most of the day. Once she nagged at me for not telling her what I want in one transaction. She complained that she will be charged twice for credit card transaction fee when I clearly told her I want a large coffee to go with my breakfast. I got my coffee, and also with a serving of stinky eyes. So I stopped going there and decided to try out Francoisa. The first few times it was a Hispanic girl, who was very nice and friendly. She was always smiling even though at times this café gets busy in the morning. Then the Korean owner(or manager?), he was always smiling as well. He’s always very polite, and the warm smile made my early coffee run very enjoyable. There are other people that works there, even though they don’t usually serve the customers directly, but when they made eye contacts with you, they always smiled and said hi. I also feel that they make an attempt to remember their regulars, and it feels very genuine as well. Did I mention the coffee here is very good? I stopped going to Starbucks after I had a taste of their coffee. The breakfast here is good too, they will heat up whatever you ordered which is always nice to go with the coffee. I believe some of the pastries are made fresh daily, and has tons of choices.

$ 9.50 for an ice tea and and croissant from a place that has a B from the health department. My order was wrong today too, I’ll go down the street to Starbucks next time

$ 5 for a breakfast croissant sandwich and coffee is as good as it’ll get. The portion size is decent and is the ideal place if you’re looking for a quick, non-fancy breakfast. Their pastries also looked good. I got one of the swirl cakes and it was a good breakfast dessert!

Good food for reasonable prices and the owner is very hands on and approachable. They do have a B health rating but I would come again.

I came by this place about once a week because my school was right next to it. It’s definitely not fancy as Paris Baguette, however, I think the food and service makes up for it. I got a banana nut muffin pretty often. I hate bananas but for some reason, I always crave their banana nut! It has a subtle banana-y flavor that is perfectly complemented by the walnuts. The star of this bakery though is their egg toast! I’m not sure if they still have it as I haven’ been there in a while. But it’s basically a thick slab of buttery toast, filled with creamy eggy goodness in the middle… Yum… I might have to go back to get some soon! They only make a couple so if you go later in the day, it might be out. But i definitely recommend the egg toast! Drinks are decent. Coffee is good. Check this place out if you want a quick bite!

They make good sandwiches with good bread, and the price is reasonable. I like coming here for lunch from time to time.

Delicious coffee at very reasonable prices. Disappointed(and slightly curious) about why they only have a B health rating.

Francoisa Bakery was my go-to breakfast spot for the couple of days I was in Koreatown. Staff is chipper and sweet, and the breakfast wrap was excellent. Coffee wasn’t bad, and the cinnamon roll latte was way too sweet and creamy for me, but overall I had a great experience there. Only one real issue: their playlist really, really, REALLY sucks. Little kids singing awfully in Korean turned up WAY too loud is not good breakfast fare, y’all! Chill your music out!

The service here is fantastic. They are always friendly and very accommodating. I usually come by to pick up cakes for coworker birthdays since it’s a hop, skip and jump from my office. They have pastries, sandwiches and good coffee from what I’ve heard, as well. I once brought in a homeless woman to eat lunch and I was expecting the typical ‘having someone like that in here will hurt our business’ mentality but the owner/manager was very gracious and kind. When I have the chance, I will definitely choose to give Francois my business over similar establishments. Give them a shot to earn your business as well!

I was lucky no one was really there. It was slow. So the service guy was really helpful on what may match my taste bud. The shaved ice with mango was delicious! I bought a red velvet cake muffin, it doesn’t taste fresh. I should’ve tried the cake with icing on it. Overall, i would return for his shaved mango. A little pricey $ 7 but it was a big portion.

This place has great breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and coffee. My favorites are: cinnamon roll latte and the light wrap(egg, cheese and hash brown) but they have salads, bagels etc… Great little breakfast place!!!

Decent lunch place in the Mid-Wilshire business district. I came here about two weeks ago for a work lunch after finding positive reviews on Unilocal, and given all the hype, I decided to order the chicken avocado wrap. For all wraps, you get a choice between regular and spinach tortilla, which is nice to have some variety. I opted for spinach. The manager — or at least employee who acted as if he had authority — walked around and offered everyone samples of their homemade salsa and chips. That was nice — it’s one of those kind of perks of going to a neighborhood joint as opposed to a corporate chain type. The wrap was decent. For $ 8 or so, you get a decent sized wrap and a bag of chips. From what I remember, the chicken wasn’t too dry, which is often a problem, and I’m sure the avocado helped with that. Lunches under $ 10 in LA are hard to come by, and this at least fills you up with some decent quality food that at least seemingly isn’t super-processed. The menu has a bunch of other options too, including other kinds of sandwiches and salads if that’s your thing. All are very reasonably priced. Service: Free chips and salsa samples? Better than Costco! Bottom line: Reasonable lunch option if you’re in the area.

This place is graded a B by health code but after asking the help, they confirmed it was due to lighting maintenance, which im totally cool with. I dont even step foot into places graded under an A n I was beyond impressed. Its very clean, cozy, and food was on point! Iced coffee was bomb! And breakfast bagel was even better. Highly recommend it for on the go breakfast. :-) try it guys

Their sandwiches are pretty much the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The fresh mozzarella sandwich and the chicken avocado sandwich are my favorites. Sandwiches are only $ 6.50. Their breakfast combo is only $ 4.00. They have delicious desserts too. The cheesecake is so light and fluffy! And the chocolate muffins… mmm… Writing this review has made me hungry. I think I’m going to walk over to Francoisa’s and get myself some treats now!

A decent bakery in the heart of busy Wilshire Boulevard right in Koreatown. I walked in here on a Saturday morning not knowing the reviews. As of this writing, I see it has 4 stars but I think 3 is plenty for my experience. The place seemed clean and they have ample seating for those wishing to dine in. I got the coffee, bagel, ham and egg for $ 4. Coffee is good(it’s Gaviña which I enjoy), bagel was toasted and served nicely. I didn’t like the fact that the lady who did cashiering duties and touched money is also the same lady who holds the mop to clean the floors… and then, serves you the food. I didn’t see her wash hands and didn’t see any gloves. The cream puffs for $ 5 were frozen and not fresh. If I warm them up, they may taste better. Overall, 3 stars because the cashier/custodian/server was nice. She had a smile on her face the whole time. To improve the rating, I hope they have a menu they can hand out for breakfast(or maybe they do have one but I was not offered one?). It will also help if they have more pastry choices on the floor. They had so many pastry bins but most were empty. I’d come back in a month and try another breakfast sandwich. We’ll see if the selection improves.

I come here to get my breakfast during work days… They have cakes, pastries, bread, salads, sandwiches, coffee & tea. I always get their chicken baguette sandwich which is only $ 4.50. Yumm…

Small(not strong) mocha $ 3. I dropped by this place while I was waiting for a meeting, and it is a quaint little café in the middle of bustling Wilshire Blvd. When I came in I was looking at what they had to offer, and the nice cashier asked me what I wanted the moment I accidentally broke the imaginary customer-cashier barrier. I asked for more time, and when I was finally ready, he was busy this time. I tried to trip the barrier a few times, but he was engrossed in whatever he was watching on his phone. I did the little«ahem» and he noticed me. I got the mocha, and it was really hot chocolate with a dash of coffee. It was a little too milky for me. I sat there for a bit and finished my drink. It’s a cute place, if I were in the area I would take more time to look at the savory goodies they had. Parking may be a situation though, just because I hate paying for parking, but it’s the reality of LA.
