HH M-F 3:30−6:30 We ordered the following from HH menu: Brussel sprouts– great flavor, except I’m not fond of goat cheese, there’s some under the brussel but it’s no mixed so easy to separate Aranchini– 3 piece in marinara sauce, it was my favorite French dip– it was good & great for HH. Beesknees– gin based, citrusy, refreshing . Street parking can be hard to find. Place is small & fills up fast. Has TVs by bar so they do show sports.

Ambiance– pretty cool. it’s dark inside. It has that clean and dark subway vibe. They also have patio seats. I’m in love with their Fried Brussels Sprouts with smoked goat cheese, apple cider glaze. oh Yes! It’s a good and healthy side next to your liquor. Thumbs up. Parking– metered in front. Service– 4⁄5. We were in and out and pretty fast. Our food arrived at a decent wait time as well as our drinks.

I absolutely adore this place. Apparently the owner is the same owner as The Counter burger franchise and Freddy Smalls is his little«passion project». The music is always great, the food always delicious, and the servers are always very friendly. Their beer selection is extensive though on the expensive side. It’s never too busy or too loud inside so I always find myself going after work with coworkers. Perfect place to unwind after a hard day’s work.

Good, strong drinks! Mushroom flatbread and brussel sprouts are so good. Super chill place.

This place is kind of a hidden; you might pass it if you drive fast on Pico Blvd. The ambience is soft and subtle — dimly lit light and booth sitting. I think it is the perfect spot to catch up with your friends over a drink or a quick date We weren’t hungry so we only tried their brussel sprouts — ITSMELLSAMAZING. The amora creeps up your nose as they were preparing it in the kitchen. There were a lot of flavors in one bite, but I think they came out a little burnt; everything was dark brown and bitter. The service is amazing! I would come back to try other dishes.

I work beard and came her for a team happy hour. It was ok. The 35 of us were crammed in the side patio which is long and narrow so doesn’t really lend itself to mingling. You have to interrupt conversations to get to the one bathroom. The food was ok bet food. If I want to meet a work friend for drinks I might come back. Wouldn’t want to do a large team get together here or bring people to impress here. Also wouldn’t bring super healthy people here either. Was able to find meters parking right up front but friends who parked across the street had to run to re feed meter and risk getting run over by rush hour traffic.

Apparently the servers here can’t count! As I entered the 75% full bar… The server told us the«the internal server is down and it’s just to hard to figure out a bill manually». Wtf… What school grade did you complete, it’s not that hard! 12 plus 12 plus 12 is 36 tax is 3.60. Get a grip on very disappointed. Went across the street San Francisco Saloon apparently people can do math at this sports bar!

I recently discovered the little gem that is Freddy Smalls. I now affectionately call it my «Cheers» as I go a few times a week for the following reasons: 1. Great service! Particularly Megan and Noah, who are amazing bartenders with lovely senses of humor 2. Awesome happy hour with fun cocktails and small bites at reasonable prices 3. I have zero evidence to support this theory, but I think it’s a rule that you must be attractive to work here. Everyone is good looking! And nice to boot! I highly recommend!

Freddy Smalls was definitely an unexpected experience on the south side of Sawtelle! Parking: metered out in the front of it and there’s a small lot behind it with no fee’s! Décor: The interior was what you would think a place is like just off the Subway in Ny. Subway throughout, crazy Edison bulbs, everything was extremely clean n in good condition. Service: Don’t exactly remember our waitresses name; however she was one of the better servers I’ve had in a while. She was very friendly n loved to describe the dishes with her hands which i appreciated. Maybe she was signing them to us n we were just to arrogant to notice. Food: Meatballs: Well I’d def say this ball checks out in the required categories for meatball dynamics.(Moist, Dense, and Flavorful). In my opinion, only cause I’m stubborn and have been spoiled by LA’s plethora of Italian restaurants. This was just above average. I just feel it missed a little in the complexity I’ve come to expect out of a GREAT meatball. Would order again; but still a solid ball. Brussels: Ok now, in this modern era of the beautiful Brussels, this place defiantly has risen to the occasion. From my understanding they keep it super simple, while packing flavors into this layered legend. The apple cider glaze paired up with the smoked goat cheese was unnnn real! The balance between savory n sweet while pushing the limits on the texture of the sprouts by frying them! This would be my go to every time! Chicken Parmigiana This was a pretty solid chicken Parm. The biggest complaint I have with the Parmigiana family is the breading on it. If I say so myself they did a wonderful job. It was def a perfect balance between meat/breading/cheese/sauce ratio! As well the whole broccoli in there 2 gave it the separation on consistency that it needed! P.s I heard they have a wonderful happy hour so I would definitely roll through for that. «Sometimes I dream bigger than I eat… sometimes!»

Parking is pretty limited here but there is also meter parking on the street. Came here for happy hour, which ends at 7pm! Basically everything on the happy hour menu sounded appealing to me. The word around town is that their brussel sprouts are life changing and I can say, it definitely lives up to the hype!

YES ! yes yes yes. This place !! It’s cute, cozy, and has fantastic food and craft cocktails. Think tiny little atmosphere, not too many tables, cute black and white tile, perfect lighting, cool crowd, hip but not pretentious, whiskey and bourbon and absinthe, hip hop tunes… I meeeean… basically a dream come true. Ordered the Brussels sprouts — to die for, cauliflower — real good, and flatbread — fantastic. A great place for a dinner date, happy hour, or to catch up with a friend. I’ll be back very, very soon. Thanks Freddy Smalls ! PS parking not so great. But it’s worth it.

I came here one night just to grab some wine after work and everything was fine. Atmosphere was nice and so was the staff. I returned for a friend’s birthday and she had been insisting that they have the best brussel sprouts ever. I didn’t think any brussel sprouts were worth $ 9 but these were amazing! The apple cider glaze has some sort of smokey flavor to it. The waitress was also amazing that night. She was blonde, said she used to be a dancer(hi! if you’re reading this). I will definitely be back for dinner and drinks!

We came here after dinner, so this review is with regards to everything besides food. We didn’t order any. We found a nice booth in the back of a dimly lit bar, but it wasn’t overcrowded and we were helped pretty quickly by a member of the wait staff. She brought us food and drink menus, though we only had beverages. The music was good but not too loud, the drinks were tasty and somewhat unique, and the windows were cracked so you could get a tiny bit of air, which was also solid. All in all, a nice place to grab a drink, I thought.

I’m really close to giving this place a 5 but I need to try their normal menu before I commit. I’ve only been here for happy hour but i’m in love with them for that. $ 5 drinks and small bites for Happy Hour. Drinks are pretty delicious. $ 5 bites? Brussel Sprouts are awesome… meatballs are pretty good. Potatoes were only so-so. The pizza smells amazing. I’m gonna get that next time.

Freddy Small’s may primarily be a bar but what I remember most about it are their fried brussels sprouts. Covered in an apple cider glaze and a dollop of smoked goat cheese, they are perfectly balanced and those crispy, burnt outer leaves are to DIE for! If you go, you must get these. Freddy Smalls has a small but solid collection of craft brews on tap. Their cocktails are decent; I had the Bensonhurst(rye, cynar, maraschino, marsala) which was a good drink though I did feel it was a bit overpriced at $ 14 — I think beer is the way to go here. Service was also fantastic; it was our first time and the bartenders were extremely welcoming and offered us a taste a couple beers when we had trouble deciding. Not only that, but they randomly brought out some meatballs out for us, on the house(perhaps we had been waiting too long for our food?). Still, it’s saying something that at the end of this review, I still come back to thinking about those fried brussels sprouts. I can’t wait to come back for their HH when they are $ 5. Yum!!!

Happiness for the 5-buck happy hour! We came here in a big group and we occupied the entire outside seating area. This was the perfect place for everyone. I have read about their most well-known BRUSSELSPROUTSWITHGOATCHEESE and APPLECIDERGLAZE so we tried. It was really delicious. I had also the FREDDY’s OLDFASHIONED and PRANQTER(Belgian golden ale) and I liked them! Parking at the back or metered on the street. Clean bathroom. Chill environment!

AWESOME! Great spot for an early HAPPYHOUR with your friends and/or colleagues! Happy Hour is from 3:30p-6:30p and it’s relieving coming in here sipping on some craft cocktails while you see the people in their cars moving inch by inch in that awful L.A. Traffic. Yeah man, shit’s for the birds. So for $ 5 holla you can get your hands on a variety of Beers, Wine & Cocktails! So what did I have? Freddy’s Old Fashioned — bourbon, sugar cube, bitters, orange peel — Awesome drink to start off with, good flavor and I love how the you get a nice big cube for ice so it keep the beverage cool and doesn’t water it down. I actually had 2 of these! Negroni Sour — gin, campari, sweet vermouth, grapefruit, lime, campari dust — Fruity drink with a citrusy blend to it. Nice and smooth foam to coat the throat. Not a bad one for you and possibly the lady. Only had one. I didn’t bother with the beer nor wine since the cocktails were on point! Since the drinks were on point I wanted to try the food. $ 5 holla on the food as well! It’s such a great deal! Chopped House Salad — cherry tomatoes, olives, pepperoncinis, salami picante, provolone — All the ingredients to a great and flavorful salad sans the dough. Good starter and can easily be shared amongst your team. Freddy’s Meatballs — ricotta salata, basil — These 2 meatballs are delivered in a tasty and tangy sauce. You can easily quarter the meatballs so everyone gets a juicy bite! Great gains here! Fried Brussels Sprouts — smoked goat cheese, apple cider glaze — BANGIN’! Yeah these are a must order especially when you see that smoked goat cheese on top — it really seals the deal! Smoked Fingerlings — rosemary, garlic, thyme — Hot, crispy, tasty motherfuggers right here that are accompanied with some sort of aioli and they’re perfect for sharing! Might as well order 2 of these off the bat for your group! Anyways, the service is awesome and attentive here. The libations are carefully crafted and are on point. There’s a TV at the bar to view when you’re solo and not on your phone looking at Instagram. Freddy Smalls Featured Five For Five is the shiznit! So how you livin’ Freddy Smalls, In mansion & Ben’z, Givin’ ends to my friends and it feel stupendous! HOLLA!

Fun happy hour spot! We had several people in town from the other offices so we decided to hit up the nearest bar that could accommodate a party of about 20 people. The staff was very friendly and gave us the patio area. We ordered several of their happy hour appetizers. Like most of the reviews say, get their Brussels sprouts! They’re amazing — fried, covered in spices, and topped with buratta. I ordered rum and coke the entire night and the drinks were on the stronger side :) They also have a great selection of beers. I hope we do another happy hour here soon!

This place is nestled on a pretty busy area on Pico. It has an extensive drink menu(wines/liquors/beers) and a decent-sized food menu. I came with my friend for dinner around 7PM on a weeknight, so it wasn’t crowded at all. We ordered an order of brussels sprouts to share as per a lot of Unilocal suggestions. I really liked the brussels sprouts; they were fried and covered in a great apple cider glaze, which made them kind of sweet. They also come with smoked goat cheese! I ordered the market risotto(green peas & mushrooms), and I thought it was a little too rich, but other than that, it was really good. My friend got the slow-roasted steak sandwich with added provolone. It was super tasty. I really liked the caramelize onions that complemented the meat. Food is a little pricey for what it is, but I would come back for happy hour. The drink menu looked good and extensive.

Hands down one of my favorite restaurants to celebrate the happiest of hours. Located on Pico in West LA, you’ll find plenty of locals and business folk wining and dining here post work day. I’ve been here a few times and have had nothing but great experiences. Their happy hour menu can’t be beat! The HH menu itself is fairly small, but each item is tasty and it rotates here and there. Also, their drinks! Holy cow, a crafted cocktail for $ 5, sign me up! If you happen to be here during happy hour I’d suggest sipping on a Parsley Gimlet and grubbing on their Brussels Sprouts with Goat Cheese, Meatballs, Toast with Ricotta & Honey and their Fingerling Potatoes. Also try their Cubano sandwich as well as their Chicken Liver Toast. I’d definitely take a date here! Not ideal for large parties unless your renting out the entire space. Street parking is minimal and metered. Enjoy!
