Fresh and Meaty Burgers

Food is great, service is so-​so. I would hope that after I place my order in person and repeat it several times that my receipt would reflect what I stated. I would also hope that after bringing up the error to the person behind the counter and am reassured that the order will come out correctly, that everything would be alright. Well, my hopes were just hopes. I took a look at my order, thankfully before I left and of course every burger was made the way it looked on the receipt. The girl behind the counter said she made the correction on the ticket in the back, but I guess it just didn’t play out on the grill. I’m thankful that I could get my burgers remade before I made it home. I dared not open the bag again until I get home. I’m hoping that this time they’ve rectified the situation.

I have eaten food here numerous times, but never actually experienced going here to pick up the food… so on Sunday we called an order in at 12:34 the lady on the phone stated that the order would be ready in 20 mins. I get there at 12:55 it was not that crowded, there were like three people in the front of me. Our order was two turkey burgers, three turkey tacos, and two order of fries. Would you believe me if I told I did not get my order til 1:20…I kid you not, somebody told a big lie when they said if call your order in its a little faster! More like extremely slow! I did get a little upset, but not for long because the food is actually really delicious. One other benefits to their advance is the parking is no problem. One thing that caught me off guard was that they have the thickest bullet proof glass here! One TV in the lobby but it wasn’t on, this is not the best neighborhood or the worst, you may see or hear a police car zooming by with lights and sirens on, or how about a helicopter hovering in the air, and maybe an ambulance rolling code 3, so I guess the owners are not going to change anything because when you have good food customers are willing to wait and wait and wait for good tasty food. They’ve got Fatburgers beat by far!!!

Service sucks… Waited over an hour for a cold burger. Fries were hot but after an hour I expected a HOT meal!!! Won’t be going back…

Turkey burger combo, extra cheese and grilled onions with a large lemonade. Trust, you will not be disappointed. Was introduced by a native, and have been hooked ever since!
One word of advice: call your order in ahead of time. Their food is FRESH AND meaty… and they ALWAYS have a line. So worth the wait though!

Fresh and Meaty is now a thing of the past. Previously, I have enjoyed various menu items. Loved the chili piled on everything. Fresh vegetables, buns and the best lemonade ever.
The last several times I’ve come in for chili fries or a turkey burger my orders have not been correct. The buns seem old, the burgers are not well seasoned. I guess it depends on whose on the grill or managing the floor.
I hope Fresh and Meaty returns to the formula that made everyone feel the need to stand in line for 30 minutes after calling in. Use to love this place.

Love F&M Burgers! Always great! Yes, you may have to wait sometime. And, yes, the wait can be a little long. But what do you expect when your food is made to orde!?! And we’re not talking Jack and The Box made to order. Like really, it’s fresh ingredients, fresh food, being cooked by real people. So that’s that. The burger is thick and seasoned so well. All the toppings and condiments are simply a burst of flavor and pure goodness! Fries, are original, thick and oh, so pretty. Not too salty. Classic strawberry soda or lemonade are my favorites to top it off. Love it because it’s Black-​owned and operated. The community supports this establishment, which is why it’s been around so long. Prices are great and reasonable. My family loves a good F&M Burger every now and again. ENJOY!

2^nd time here and they exceeded my expectations. I read about the long ass wait and was expecting to experience it but nope… Food came out QUICKLY…
Food: Meal was done within 10 mins FRESH AND DELICIOUS. Fries were kinda thick but season just right. The burger was AMAZING. They did the fuckin thang I must say…
Service: The ladies greeted us in a timely manner and helped us thru the menu with no problems. Great service ladies…
Will be back.

Normally wouldn’t give a spot 4 stars the 1^st go round, but this had a few special moments:
1. Black owned: not sure BUT all young Black staff behind glass, including on the grill
2. Staff was very gracious from jump… textbook and sincere (including when I called in order)
All this led my man to drop off bags and drop a tip.

Grew up around the neighborhood and now work near here. So I’ll make a stop every now and then… The food is good, great actually… With that said, the customer service is shit. That’s me being nice… Some of these people seriously need some people skills. Whether it be an employee putting their finger in your face saying «wait» or them not having your order correct… Am I the only one who feels decent customer service should come with a meal costing more than $ 10?

Resmembles Fatburger but in a way better… why? …because they accept ebt, that’s why!!! ^_​^. Not to mention they have a Unilocal discount. May seeem a bit sketch but in actuality, it’s a nice community

Burgers are always good both beef n turkey. Thick cut fries n lemonade. Just make sure you phone in your order or else you’ll have to wait forever. They take debit/​credit too.

Fresh and Meaty makes beef or turkey burgers to order. I paid a little over $ 7 for a turkey burger combo. Standard condiments, drinks and sodas. Extra $$$ for bacon, extra cheese, etc. This place is a little rough around the edges and expensive for family sized meals, but the food is good.

Best turkey burgers in town. U will love there food. Definitely worth the wait. Located on the corner of Florence and 8^th Ave. Also don’t forget to get those real fries and pink lemonade.

This is the standard, awesome South LA style burger, like A-​1 up the street on Vernon, or Fred’s Down Home a few blocks away on Slauson. They grind their own meat and yeah, it’s fast food but not that fast, which accounts for some lower star reviews. I don’t mind waiting for quality, but I’ll agree, the place is mostly staffed by kids, and service can be hit or miss. The food is top notch for this kind of shack.

I give this place two stars only because of customer service. They are always busy which means by the time I pay for my food it is missing most of what I order. I request a chilli burger– I get no chilli which means I overpaid. If I request grilled onions I don’t get grilled onions. Forget placing an order over the phone, they either can’t hear my order or leave me hanging on.
The food is good but what’s the use when the customer service sucks! If I order over the phone and my balance is $ 25 or more I cannot place the phone order. This is the problem with taking your business to the community! You get a treatment as if you’re out to get them!

The burgers here are pretty good, as well as the fries. They are called meaty for a reason, the patties are a little to big here for my taste. The service is VERY slow, and customer service is non existent, and they have been in business a long time, go figure.

The service at this place was so bad that I stopped coming here over ten years ago. This is my 3^rd time back in the last couple of months and I see that nothing has changed. They’re still slow as hell with workers that seem to have their minds on other things. Terrible! What we as African Americans don’t seem to understand is that one person represents us all. We are not judged individually in this society. So please, for the good of our people, get it together and stop treating your customers time like it’s not important!

So new to the area cause of job assignment Co worker said let’s go here I said why not. So I get there yes it can be sketchy at night but I don’t care I was hungry. This place has chilli cheese fruits and punch from am igloo cooler I was sold.
Great burger I had, it was fresh and meaty just like their name. The chilli had a god flavor and fid not feel like it came from a can (I could be wrong) the punch was on point.
The only real drawback is it takes time to get your food but it’s fresh so worth it. Also don’t be discouraged by the thick bullet proof glass it gives it character.

Because I do not eat red meat it’s extremely hard for me to find places that offer Turkey Burgers as a choice option. I was pleased to find that Fresh and Meaty offered just that. The turkey burger I had was seasoned perfectly, topped with grilled onions, tomatoes, pickles and their special sauce. The meat was seasoned PERFECTLY. Sometimes turkey meat can be a bit bland, but nope they executed that perfectly. I also had the combo which came with my choice of seasoned fries and strawberry soda. I’m convinced that this burger joint is the best in LA. It’s so comforting to know that I can return here anytime I’m craving a burger! If your not a fan of turkey meat they also offer chicken, and red meat per usual.
I also made sure to call ahead, so I only waited a few minutes to get my food!
