We’d gone through the farmers market and while we were passing by there, the pictures of food there and the sign caught our eyes to eat something. Actually It’s famous for Hotdog. We ordered ‘Chili cheese tots’ it was much salty if next time, I wouldn’t go there. Maybe not having their main menu«Hotdog», caused us to be back, it really worths it? I don’t know exactly but I’ll consider it later.

Out of all the places to eat in the farmers market I had to pick the place with overpriced mediocre hotdogs. I came her for lunch on a Sunday, spent around 9 bucks for a chili cheese dog, & near 6 for chili cheese fries. Regardless of the price this food is garbage, the chili taste like just crap they have at Tommy’s or Carney’s & my hotdog taste & looked old. When I bit into it the inside looked like a slim Jim meat stick, it looked like one of those 7 – 11 hotdogs that has been sitting on the weenie roller all day. Luckily I didn’t get food poisoning like some of the recent reviewers did, but then again I barley got halfway through what I got before I threw it away.

The worst. $ 10 for a terrible hot dog. I asked for the most popular item on the menu. What I got was a mess.

My first time here. My boys wanted corn dogs… Corn dogs it is! 2 corn dogs and an order of cheese tots and fries … Food was ok. Nothing extraordinary. Not worth $ 18 spent… Customer service sucked. I wasn’t greeted so just started ordering… I guess. Haha… Asked what drinks they had… It was like I was talking to the wall… So I just said forget it no drinks. That’s all … I’d rather spend my money on the lady with the cart selling bacon wrapped hot dogs! :)

When visiting Los Angeles we try to stop by the LA Farmers Market as there are numerous dining options as well as some great shops. I’ve eaten at quite a few of the stalls around the market but Fritzi Dog always catches my eye. I’ve never tried it but I am a big fan of hot dogs and sausages so gave it a try. Tip — check in on Unilocal to get a 50% off Bacon Pups offer… I didn’t check in until after I paid so wasn’t able to take advantage. Food: They were out of the all beef dogs on this day but the server recommended the Smoky Snappy Dog as another popular item. I went with the LA Street Specialty Dog and a side of fries/tots combo. The dog itself was pretty good. had a good snap to the outer casing. It was a little difficult to eat(I.e. Messy) since it was piled high with bacon and onions with mayo, ketchup and jalapeños topping the dish. It was good but other ingredients overpowered the flavor of the sausage itself. The tots were my favorite part of the meal but hey. I love a good crisp and non greasy tot. Service: Nothing to complain about, place your order at the counter, take a couple steps to the left and wait for your name to be called. Nothing fancy, no problems, staff was nice enough and gave recommendations. Atmosphere: Ample seating all around the farmers market, you may have to walk few feet to get to an open table but there tends to be more seating down the aisles and towards the back. Noisy, full of bustling action, a great place to down a dog. Since it was 11 am, I refrained from getting a brew from one of the other stalls but I can see where it would have made a nice combo. Value: A bit on the pricey side($ 8.95 for my dog) but I guess you get a quality dog that’s supposed to be additive free. Overall: Okay place to me, not sure if I’d get it again as there are so many dining options at the Farmers Market and I only get out there a couple times a year.

I thought this meal would be a sure bet. I love hot dogs, I love a crazy amount of toppings/condiments, I love pretzel buns, what could go wrong? Wrong #1: They were out of pretzel buns and I was told that the original bun is better anyway. Original bun was fine, but I can’t imagine it was better than a pretzel bun and all the reviews below back this suspicion. Wrong #2: $ 13 for one hot dog and fries. THIRTEENAMERICANDOLLARS. When she gave me the total I had to do some quick math like how did we get here? I’m still trying to figure it out, please help me. Wrong #3: I ordered a snappy dog which is supposed to have a little spicy kick to it, dijon mustard, grilled onions, and jalapenos. When Carl’s Jr. came out with the slogan«If it doesn’t get all over the place, it doesn’t belong in your face» I thought FINALLY, a food company that understands that it’s really all about the accoutrements. My point is that I really love sloppy toppings. This was next level sloppy, so much so that I had to scrape off all of it. I couldn’t believe how much crap was on top of my hot dog. Wrong #4: Where’s the snap in the snappy? It tasted like a regular hot dog to me. Also, it’s hard to describe but every time I took a bite of my hot dog I would have a little meat and all casing. I would put it down and my bf would look at it and say, «why does it look like that» in reference to the sausage casing. It was so bizarre. Should have taken a photo. Wrong #5: Maybe, just maybe, there should be a description(read: warning!) about the garlic fries/tots which they call Garlic 50⁄50. It was drenched in garlic aioli and then topped with fried garlic. I get that there are multiple ways to serve garlic fries but I can’t remember the last time, if ever, they’ve been served this way. I was thinking fresh garlic chunks and parsley. It also looked unappetizing(read: like barf). Conclusion: my entire meal was practically inedible. Totally turned off by the garlic fries. I love a good aioli but serve it on the side please. The hot dog wasn’t any better than a 7 – 11 Big Bite.

If I could give this place 0 stars I WOULD. * DONOTEATHERE* Walked through the farmers market and this place caught my eye, I looked at the menu, and decided to go for it. I order the Memphis hound dog, which is topped with coleslaw, bbq sauce, and«bbq chips»(which there were about 3 of on the whole hot dog). I asked the lady working if it was a good size and she suggested that it was alright but if I was more than a little hungry I should order the fries. With the hot dog, fries, and a lemonade, my total was 15 dollars, I should of stopped the bill right there, and not even purchased it for that insane amount of money, but I did, and the result, food poisoning for 3 days. I’ve been sick to my stomach since the night I got home from that place and will never eat there again. If you don’t want food poising or want to pay an absurd amount of money for the most basic of basic hot dogs, I suggest you do not eat here

Healthy and Hot dog traditionally would be an oxymoron, but not here. No nitrates, antibiotics, only heathly parts of cow etc, no fillers. So if you are looking for a healthy hot dog this is the place. But $ 8.00 for a chili dog? really? $ 15.00 for a dog, fries not drink. and such seems rather high. but such I guess is the price of health. They have several dogs, even veggie ones made from carrots and Brussel sprout toppings, lots of toppings(the chili was great) traditional and otherwise, by the great Neil Fraser… In a hurry. go elsewhere. There was one customer… me. and it took almost 15 minutes to get my dog and fries…

Hotdog was good but too pricy and customer service was bad. Ordered just a regular hotdog, after waiting 15 minutes and asked what’s new, they checked and I guess they did a mistake and didn’t make it. I told her that I’m standing 15 minutes and waiting like an idiot, she asked me if I want my money back? Well no because I just spent my time here and I won’t leave without my hotdog. As a business owner I would offer a small discount instead giving the option to cancell the order. By the way I spent $ 14 for a hotdog and fries. NODRINKINCLUDED. I won’t be back here.

How bad can a carrot really be for you? Well, let me tell you. I ordered their carrot dog in a gluten free bun and normally you would think it would be pretty healthy. Wrong. The carrot which is cooked into 26 different spices is sautéed in a pan of heavy oil and then placed into a gluten free bun which soaks up all the residual oil. On top are deep fried Brussels sprouts which were soggy rather than crispy which tells me that they weren’t fried properly in high heat and sucked up all the oil from the fryer which are tossed with a gremolata. So oil on oil with more oil. The carrot to bun ratio is off and would rather scoop out the inside of the bun so it’s more palatable. They use udis hot dog buns which are extremely dense and anyone that’s familiar with Udis knows that you have to toast the bun to get a nice flavor and fritzi dog just gives you a raw bun that tastes a bit stale with lots of oil soaked in from the dog and Brussels. I’m not quite sure what I was expecting when I heard of a carrot in place of a mock hot dog but it was definitely interesting and most definitely tastes like a carrot and pretty much it. So paying $ 11 for a carrot in a bun seems steep and was worth trying to see what the hype was but would probably stick to the mock hot dogs from now on. But def interesting.

Make a pickup order in advance. Great stop at the farmer’s market but they can be exceedingly slow some days. Fritzi’d out carrot dog is where it’s at.

Four stars for the idea and effort of having vegetarian and gluten-free options, which I greatly appreciate, but only three stars for execution. It took a solid 15 minutes to get two hot dogs and one order of sprouts, with 10 people working and only two other customers waiting. As for the«no gloves» policy, one worker was pulling her cell phone out of her back pocket every five seconds to check it, then touching the food. Ew. The Brussels sprouts tots were delicious. The gluten-free buns were fine. The carrot dog, however, was just not good. The carrot itself was virtually devoid of flavor and the texture was odd, almost tough. Not a fan. Came to $ 23 for a beef hot dog with sauerkraut and a carrot dog, both on gluten-free buns, and one order of Brussels sprouts. Also irritating that a hot dog stand lists«dine in» restaurant tips on the receipt, i.e. suggesting $ 4+ as a gratuity on my order. For two hot dogs. Seriously? I usually do add a $ 1 tip at fast casual restaurants, but 20%? Kudos for the homemade BBQ sauce I asked for on the side. I spread it on the carrot to give it some flavor and spice. It was delish.

Just looking for a quick eat before we shop ’till we drop My friends took maybe 20 minutes Unilocaling for a decent to place to eat at and everything was either too pricey or had terrible reviews so we just walked around until something looked appealing and who doesn’t love hot dogs? Did you know there are different kinds of dogs? I sure didn’t but I decided to stay with the classic beef & pork by choosing the garlic dog, opting for the regular bun instead of pretzel. You can also add other toppings on but I never realized how limited I am on hot dogs because I thought it was just your average ketchup, mustard, and relish but there’s other sauces like sour cream, cilantro lime dressing, and garlic aioli. They also give out bacon pups if you check in! But they ran out by the time we got there :( I was actually satisfied with my hot dog. It was affordable and good for its price and it was different from the average hot dog because I had garlic aioli, crispy onions, and grilled onions on mine. The crispy onions kept jumping ship every time I took a bite and I just made a mess but I was able to catch some in my mouth. It wasn’t as messy as I thought which is great because I can be a bit of a neat freak For a hot dog, I was pretty impressed and I wouldn’t mind coming back here again if I’m ever in the area

My favorite Hot Dogs in LA! By far. «No Junk» hot dogs meaning no antibiotics, no nitrates, overall quality meat going into freshly baked buns(pretzel bun is a must-try) with traditional and unique toppings crafted by one of my favorite Chefs in LA, Neal Fraser! It’s a no brainer, really ;) because you can get a traditional ‘LA Street Dog’ without being concerned with what kind of crap you just put in your body. This was actually created by people who care about that sort of thing, which I appreciate. You could also get a unique dog with brussels sprouts on top(as example), and vegans/vegetarians can try the Carrot Dog — which I also love! The corn dog also flies under the radar… but it’s really tasty, and the batter they dip it in turns out incredibly fluffy. The sides are great too(get the tots and the bacon pups!) I would 100% recommend friends to try Fritzi Dog.

Haven’t been able to stomach glutenous foods since high school, so being able to order a gf classic hot dog [w/gf bun!] was exciting in itself. The hot dog had that perfect snap when you bite and juicy texture. The bun, for being gf, was decent. Got garlic tots on the side too. They were yummy but very rich — definitely best to split. I will definitely be back next time I’m at the farmers market.

Pretty good variety of ingredients. I especially like that this is unique and the customer service is on point! I had the chili cheese dog, it had great flavor and the beef dog was crisp and juicy. Yummy. Definitely coming back.

Want to feel reallllllllll Los Angelino? Why not stop in to the Farmer’s Market and treat yourself to a carrot dog on a gluten free bun? Seriously, it’s a carrot. A sous vide carrot. And then they put it on a bun and top it with stuff and you sit there eating it and you’re like, «Whatever. I do what I want.» It takes a little longer than it seems it should for them to make the dogs, both carrot and otherwise. Not sure what that’s all about. But it’s a good vegetarian option when you find yourself in the area.

When we were placing our order they informed us that they ran out of original buns and had one pretzel bun left and the rest were gluten free. We said ok. I got the last pretzel bun and my boyfriend got a gluten free bun, because there was nothing else. When we got our receipt we noticed that they charged us for the gluten free bun, that if we had the choice wouldn’t have asked for. I was irritated because I think it was their business’ issue that they ran out of original buns during business hours, and I don’t think I should have to pay for their lack of inventory. Food was nothing special, and the experience really rubbed me the wrong way so I probably won’t be back.

I’m fan of Neal Fraser from his cooking at Redbird. I was visiting the Farmer’s Market for my first time, so Chef Fraser’s Fritzi Dog was a must-try. I’ve reduced my normal hot dog consumption to exactly zero — the worse-than-pink-slime pork and poultry carcass leftovers sort of gross me out. But I made an exception for Fritzi Dog’s anti-biotic & hormone-free, no nitrate added meat. It seemed better in my head at least. We customized two hot dogs. First was all-beef, spicy mustard, sauerkraut, and raw onions. Second was turkey maple dog, spicy mustard, crispy onions, and grilled peppers. All-beef dog was juicy and though it was not the best gourmet dog, it was enjoyable with the toppings. The turkey maple dog was a letdown. It was similar to a breakfast sausage in flavor, but a blander, drier and healthier version, a.k.a no fun. Some foods are not meant to be healthy. The crispy onions and grilled pepper combo was pretty good though. The original bun was nothing to rave about; I would try the pretzel bun next time. The Brussels Tots was definitely the winner. Flash fried to be extra crispy and topped with a spicy gremolata. I was thinking about getting the carrot dog, now I wish I got that topped with the Brussel sprouts!

I was very impressed by Fritzi Dog. I was by Farmers’ Market & needed a quick bit to eat. Fritzi Dog did not disappoint. Here’s what I ordered… «Four Alarm Fritzi» which is Jalapeño Chicken Dog topped it with crispy onions, sriracha ketchup & super spicy mustard on a Pretzel bun(duh!) I don’t know if I was just REALLY hungry or what but this was AMAZING. I have a high tolerance for spicy foods so it wasn’t too spicy for me but it did have a kick to it. For sides I ordered… Cauliflower Popcorn: REALLY good. flavorful & super tasty Brussels Tots: Honestly, this was mediocre. I recommend getting the cauliflower popcorn over the Brussels tots. I ended up spending around $ 20 for my meal which is a little pricey for me. Service with quick & friendly. I would totally come back though. xo, Naomi
