The food here is good and authentic The bad thing is how early they close Why would a restaurant close right before dinner hours. Since I work from 9 – 5, the time I drive back to DT they are closed Recommend to get the half chicken my girlfriend likes the fajitas

Let me start of by saying in my opinion if you grill chicken you have to do it right in order to get the chicken juicy and tender. This place is MONEY. I just love this grilled chicken so much that when I first found out about this place I came 5 days straight for lunch and dinner. The chicken here is so juicy it should be a crime. They are the addict in addiction. The rice is also extremely flavorful in comparison to other Mexican restaurants that serves rice. And if you can handle some heat the spicy habenero sauce just hits the spot. The only draw back is that I wouldn’t go here an hour before closing because in my opinion the chicken is not as juicy and tender due to the fact that it may have been sitting out for a long time. Other than that this is my go to place for Mexican style grilled chicken.

What the hell? 3 stars, its a solid five. Bourgeois dicks expect fancy restaurant, its not, look past the cliché fuego atmosphere, close your eyes and taste the food. It is great Mexican food. I bought extra burritos to stick in my freezer. Because if they are half as good a month from now they are still would be delicious.

Me: Can I get an asada burrito and a glass of water? Fuego: I’m sorry we only offer bottled water. Me: Later

I live and work in Downtown and frequent Fuego Grill. The food there is quite good. But there is a catch. The cooks change semi regularly and you can definitely tell the difference. It would be a great place if it wasn’t for the inconsistency of the quality of food.

One of the hidden gems of DTLA. The restaurant is easy to find, just follow your nose to the chicken on the barbecue in front! However, while the half chicken off the grill is great, don’t stop there. The full menu inside, from tacos to burritos to burgers, is fantastic. We have sampled almost everything and have yet to find anything we don’t like. Everything is well seasoned and the ingredients are fresh(the secret being that the owner also owns a fresh market so they insure their ingredients are fresh.) we definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fresh, tasty and cheap meal!

Another find that’s close by my place. I always walk by & see a load of chicken stacked up by the grill outside & the smell is amazing. So I ordered the Pollo Asada which comes with rice & beans + half a chicken! These guys aren’t skimpy with their portions. The rice was interesting — I was hoping for some rice you would get like Chipotle — white rice seasoned with cilantro & lime. This rice was alright, it tasted somewhat like rice a roni. Very mild taste. I don’t like beans, so my boyfriend ate those. The chicken was juicy, I wouldn’t say it’s nothing special, but it was good. The horchata was not good at all! It was warm & I like horchata with more cinnamon, the horchata from here had a very bland taste. The only good thing about this place is the price — and the portions. Good deal but nothing special about the food.

El Pollo Loco no more! h you definitely won’t miss Fuego Grill. just follow your nose and smell the grilled chicken sizzling on the grill near the storefront! Very delicious grilled chicken too! We came by during lunch. Grilled chicken immediately caught our eye. We want that! You can order the chicken at the front, or go inside the restaurant. We ordered the half chicken plate($ 6.95) and a horchata. The plate comes with very delicious and fresh rice and beans. Probably the best I’ve had in awhile. And very delicious chicken cut into 4 pieces. The chicken was well flavored and juicy! The plate was enough to feed two people. Definitely had leftovers. Don’t forget to try the red and green salsas! I also ordered an al pastor taco and while the meat was pretty good, it was very oily. I saw the oil dripping out of the taco. Horchata wasn’t that great. Tasted watered down. Very affordable option for DTLA!

So I was in downtown LA buying a suite off of Los Angeles St., and 7th. So we decide to eat at one of the local establishments there, and my oh my. Good choice if in the area… They have pork meat out on a big spit and roasting chickens al carbon(on a big grill) right out front. Now I was with my parents. We walked in and you basically either order up front or at the counter. Once you order they bring your food right to you. The menu is on the wall. They do have a nice selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Cheap prices and good food let me tell ya. I had 4 tacos de al pastor(pork meat marinated, cooked on a spit fire, and sliced down), kinda like gyro meat. Very good. My parents had the huevos rancheros, and the pollo a la brasa, so basically there grilled chicken. Let me tell ya, the chicken was dynamite good. Basically all the food we had was very good. Place was very clean. Would recommend it if your in the area…

For easy, quick(faster then KFC, Carl’s, and McDonald’s) you can get a reall freaking good burrito or chicken. I’ve tried the chipotle chicken, chile relleno, vegetarian, and shrimp burritos and bought a whole chicken with rice, beans, salsa, tortillas, etc. and wow! Its always good! The prices are great and the people who work there are nice too – what more could you want? Good food, convenient, fast, friendly service, and it sounds like a party outside! Oh, and they are working on getting beer there :)

Me and my boyfriend love to come here for the chicken! That being said we think it sucks that they close the inside kitchen at 5pm right during dinner hours!

Great pollo al carbón when in LA, it’s Mexican style… mmmmm. You can have raspados down the street or even fresh fruit for desert, all out of a stroller.

This is a review of the $ 1.50 horchata. It was delicious! I always love a cup of sweet horchata. On some evenings this place has a grill outside and they grill chicken. I will have to come back and try the grilled chicken.

This spot has a large menu selection some of the items the prices seemed to be a bit off(too high) though I must say the best deals are probably had out front Pollo al Carbon, Tacos y Mas! and the prices are cheaper outside, Plato de Pollo $ 5.95, Tacos $ 1.00 same food! So Why? On second thought I should have ordered the food outside but… I didn’t so here’s what I did get. Tacos $ 1.25 — Pollo Y Carne Asada Pollo — This was cooked indoors on a flat top grill(lacking flavor) I was hoping they use the chicken cooked from outdoors al carbon. 3-Stars Carne Asada — If you like fatty meat and gristle this might just be for you! 1-Star Wet Burrito de Pollo $ 6.95 — Chicken, Black Beans, Cheese, Sour Cream, Guacamole topped with a real nice salsa roja I had them leave out the pico de gallo, rice and some other unwanted fillers, it was a pretty good burrito but nothing I’d go running back for. 3.5-Stars AVG: 2.5-Stars Get the $ 5.95 Chicken w/sides from outside…

I had the sea food soup, I liked it but I wish they would have given me a choice of regular seafood soup, or tomato soup, I can’t be to picky cause my friend invited me, but my friend had enchiladas and they looked good … The place is alright, what i did not like was the flies buzzing around…

Wow, the Fuego Grill has a fine selection of classic mexican dishes and meals. We’re talking grilled salmon, devil shrimps, pastas, veggie burgers, herb roasted chicken and a whole bunch more. I had the california burger which features a good sized fresh hamburger cooked on a flame grill, and is topped with two eggs, fresh cut avocado, cheese, onion, lettuce & tomato, plus french fries or a salad for only $ 5.95 plus tax. I’m a big guy, and I’ve eaten the burgers from all of the downtown burger joints where I’ve paid more and got a lot less so this is a pretty decent meal for the price you’re paying. All in all you get a good fresh meal at a good price without all the chimpy, hipster, I’m an artiste atmosphere. Check it out !

I was waking down 7th St when I noticed the lunch special on the chalk board. Teriyaki Bowl 4.95. Thinking you can’t go wrong with a special like that I decided to give it a try. The décor reminded me of a trendier Chipotle restaurant. The waitress took my order right away and gave me a table. The fast service might have been due to the fact that I was the only customer there. Which surprised me since it was the lunch rush hour. The menu was health trendy, everything listed was«fresh» or in «wraps». As I sat down, the waitress brought me a plate of chips and guacamole. It’s always a plus for me when theres free appetizers. They do grill their food to order. I saw the cook throw on fresh chicken on the grill for my order. I commend Fuego Grill on their food presentation. The plate was well prepared and easy on the eyes. Even though it was a common Teriyaki Bowl it looked like an expensive dish. They used what looked like fresh grilled veggies. Looks can be deceiving. The food wasn’t bad, more like mehhh. Nothing special about it. It was ok, sort of bland tasting. Maybe because it was Mexican food inspired teriyaki. It quantity was good, enough food to leave you full and satisfied. Overall, it was a good meal at a good price. Not a memorable meal, but it hits the spot. The staff was friendly and attentive. They get an extra star for this. I won’t travel very far to eat here, but if you are in the general vicinity I’d recommend you stop by.
