I don’t know what happened but the quality in the burger definitely went down. Came here to eat right before a show at the Pantages. I had it all hyped up and excited to eat at Fuku Burger. Well it was a major disappointment. The burger was smaller than I had remembered and it wasn’t as flavorful. We also ordered the fries and cocktails which were not good at all. The cocktails were super watered down-almost water consistency. Having checked in on Unilocal,we redeemed the edamame but we didn’t get it until we were waiting on the check. Bleh. What happened?

I used to work in the area and I just wanted to see what the fuku burger is all about and found out its about three stars. Food: — Tamago egg burger $ 9 + Jazz fries. Free Edamame with Unilocal Check-in. At around noon, this place was empty. Just me and the guy at the bar trying his best to pick up the lone waitress doubling as a bartender. He was not very good but the waitress put up with his shenanigans. Bless her heart. She provided great and energetic service even though we were the only customers. Anyway, the Tamago egg burger was definitely not worth the price. Its a standard burger with the patty thinner than I would have liked. Because Fuku Burger is located in Hollywood, I think it is appropriate to analogize the burger to a B-level actor– gets the job done but won’t win any awards. The jazz fries are fine but I wasn’t a fan of the mayo the drizzle over it. Can’t really complain with complimentary edamame either. The area where Fuku Burger is located is surrounded with tourist trap type of divey restaurants so at least at Fuku you get a step above that. But I would still venture to Juicy Burger if you’re really hankering for burgers in Hollywood.

This place was pretty tight. It was super dead on a Friday night for some reason, although finding parking was somewhat brutal(Hollywood…) Once we found street and made our way there, we took our seats at a quaint bench table. Décor of the place is pretty cool, it’s very red… Service was really good, waiter was funny and helpful. Got the free edemame from Unilocal check-in. Got the Tamago Egg Burger, although the group considered the sumo burger. The mystery of the sumo will continue… The burger was very good. Quite juicy and cooked very medium rare, as requested. Could be a little bigger for $ 9 thooooo. Got the Jazz fries as well; they were pretty bomb. The menu does a good job of creating salivating anticipation for the menu items. I would recommend people check this place out if they’re on that $ 9 burger grind. Could hit up the bar as well.

I came on Unilocal and saw a picture of their Tamago Burger… One look at the sunny side up egg, and I was sold. I felt my mouth watering instantly. Now, I had been craving a good burger for days until this point, so I was just going to go to In n’ Out to grab an animal style cheeseburger. A group of us went, most of us got the Tamago Burger(I shared the picture with everyone on the way there). When the burgers came out, the first thing I did was take the biggest bite I could… …right into over hard fried eggs. I was so disappointed. The patty itself was ok, but I just didn’t enjoy the egg… I felt misled. I’m not against going back to this place. I’ll just need to find another burger to entice me there.

Came here before hitting the clubs. Ordered the Jazz Fries with the sauce on the side. The seasoning on their fries is a bit spicy. The sauces are good. One is mayonnaise-based and the other is some sort of ketchup. Also ordered some drinks to do a little pre-gaming before the clubs as well. Ordered the Sake Sunset. You think it’s not strong, but a couple of these and you have a good buzz before the clubs. And at $ 9 a drink? Way cheaper than the $ 15AMF you’re probably going to order.

I love a good burger. My friend told me that this was her favorite burger in LA, so of course I had to try it out! –Unique concept(fusion of Japanese and American flavors) –Great friendly service –Lots of cool burger selections, with a suggestion of cocktail for each one –Price is reasonable. I think the burgers were between $ 7 – 9, which is actually a much lower price than other burger places in LA What we ordered: –Tamago burger: this was very flavorful, juicy. buuuut… i feel like the egg was overcooked. Isnt the yolk supposed to be runny and yummy, permeating throughout the patty and bun, soaking into the rest of the burger in a hot gooey mess of deliciousness? –Karai spicy burger: i felt like this was not very flavorful, bordering on bland. You have 3 spicy levels to choose from, and we chose #2. It had habaneros in it, but not completely distributed that its in every bite. It wasn’t very saucy… I dunno exactly what it was I wasnt too impressed. i felt like the flavor between the thick bun and the contents wasnt well balanced. –Pork belly: yummy! crispy and fatty, with fresh cilantro. make sure u squeeze the fresh lime –Jazz fries: again… eh…but I am biased because I don’t like creamy sauces so of course i wouldnt like the«crack sauce». I did like the umami sauce though all in all, it was an interesting place, and perhaps even more interesting when I could actually have the paired cocktail(i went there at noon… and i cant drink during the day or ill sleep all day. no joke) but not sure if id go back for their burgers…

Came here on a Friday night at 8:30 pm, and it wasn’t too packed. We were able to be seated immediately. However, it seemed like they only had 2 waiters serving the whole establishment. It took a while to get our food and to flag down our waiter for basic requests like napkins. Delicious burgers. Similar to Umami burgers, but probably not as good. However, it’s still a fun place to grab some drinks and food with friends. We also got their fries which comes with dynamite sauce and another brown sauce on top. I liked the dynamite sauce but the brown sauce was too much. Wine was about $ 8 and it comes out in a regular glass… no wine glass. I didn’t like this as I believe that wine tastes better when it’s drunk from a proper wine glass. I wish the establishment would invest in some wine glasses. It’s a great location with many fun bars nearby. Parking is tight so be prepared to pay for a lot or to park at a meter.

Their sauce is amazing. Their meat was great. Their overall flavor was spot on. So why the 3 instead of 4 or 5 stars? Their meat isn’t as good as Stout or other burger places. Also, it’s way too loud in there… and we went on a rather hot day and no AC. it was hot hot hot! parking is also a huge pain. We had a groupon, and if we hadn’t i don’t think we would’ve gone. I do want to try it again, but not sure if it’s worth it when we have Counter, Umami, Stout, etc etc

Got the free edamame thanks to Unilocal! The shiitake burger was delicious but I couldn’t stop staring at my friends tamago burger. Next time I’ll def come back for that. I prefer the regular Fuku fries. My friend liked the jazz fries because the gravy on them made it less spicy. Parking sucks. Great service. They cleaned up our dirty plates right away. Atmosphere was artsy and loud. Not a great place to have a conversation.

Karai Burger — supposed to be Fuku’s spicy burger. SOO disappointing. When I ordered the burger, the server asked me what level of spiciness I wanted and I immediately got excited because I really wanted spicy, so I ordered level 9. In reality, it tasted like a level 4. The patty was still a little thin compared to other restaurants of similar quality.

I wanted to like this place, but I’m not even interested to give it another try. I got the buta burger and my boyfriend got the burger with the fried egg. I think our other two friends also got the buta burger. I’m not sure what it was. Maybe it was the pickled ginger. But even after taking it out, it still didn’t like the taste of the burger. The bun was way too soft that it got squished so easily, and so you can’t even taste it because it is squashed to a millimeter. It was a soggy mess. I didn’t even want to finish it. I eventually scraped the bread off and ate the meat. The fries with crack sauce did not live up to the expectations. That or crack must be whatevers. I had purchased a deal for a meal for 2, including fries and edamame. When I checked in on Unilocal,I got an offer for free edamame. but no one even wanted it. We were all pretty disappointed.

So some of my friends kept talking about this«Fuku» Burger. At 1st I misread the restaurant name as «F U» Burger, but that initial misunderstanding soon turned into a positive experience after I took a bite of burger and fries ~ Parking: Oh come on it’s Hollywood! For those of you who want free parking, forget about it. There are plenty of $ 5 all-day parking lots few blocks away from the Fuku Burger(we just parked at the LA File School’s private lots, located at the intersection of Ivar Ave and Sunset Blvd) — Price: Kinoko(Mushroom Burger) — $ 9 Jazz Fries(Garlic Fries Topped Off With Brown Gravy and Crack Sauce) — $ 4 — Environment: Another self-service restaurant — you order and pay 1st, grab a number, and wait patiently for your food. Hey, at least this place got HDTV! Water is located at the corner of bar counter. — Food: Kinoko(Mushroom Burger) — Mushroom + sauce + meat patty = two big thumbs up! No lettuce, tomatoes, and onion for this burger — but I didn’t come here for a healthy option(5⁄5) Jazz Fries(Garlic Fries Topped Off With Brown Gravy and Crack Sauce) — the crack sauce is THEBOMB! A bit sweet, a bit creamy, and that additional kick to your taste buds made this sauce super addicting.(5⁄5) — Rating: 4.5÷5 for overall experience(minus 0.5 for bad parking areas)

When I found this place my ghetto-side inside me wants to pronounced it F*cku Burger, but the gentlemen says be nice the here is awesome, say it in Korean terms Fuku Burger. We came here being that it was the wife’s B-day lunch stop for the day, as well her sister coming along, it was a nice sunny hot Sunday afternoon! but I had just gotten an extraction from the dentist the day before, so really I couldn’t order a good burger. I’ve heard about how good the Jazz fries are here, so that was my only option after having oral surgery and avoid bleeding gums or possible complications. Anyways their Jazz fries were delicious! They were soft and easy for the teeth, and the taste is just how I thought it was, gravy! and a taste of that crack sauce! Being the awesome wife that she is, she didn’t want me to miss out on their burger, which it was the Tamago Burger. My wife had to cut the burger meat in small tiny pieces and a piece of fried egg wasn’t left out. With tender gums, weak tastebuds and after an all evening gauze fest in mouth the night before, I was able to taste how sweet this burger is, you can taste the zesty teriyaki meat but I miss out on that wasabi mayo, couldn’t taste it. I thought this place would be an all Korean staff because the feeling is that its Korean fast/bar food, but it caught me off guard when its all white chicks working here lol… but the chick that served us was great! and she was friendly! I will definitely be back here to tryout their main entrée the Fuku burger«Lucky Burger«and will I be healed up this time around. Nice Bar and front open space joint, what’s in that Crack Sauce? addicting!!!

Alright, so I was inclined to try this place because a Groupon caught my attention and this was a good way to pull me in and pull some friends with me. FOOD — 5 Stars: So, our group ordered the following items Tamago Egg Burger, Fuku Moco, Chicken Katsu, Kinoko, Garlic and Salted Edamame, Jazz Fries with the infamous Crack Sauce, and the spread of different sauces. All of us really liked our food. The Crack Sauce was really addictive. I wonder why they chose that name. Haha. ;) The Chicken Katsu was very delicious. I’ve never had ‘katsu’ in burger form so it was yummy plus the sauce in the burger was sooo good. The feed back for the two people who got the Tamago burger was very positive… nothing can beat a burger with an egg in it. Having all the sauces to dip in was nice to try, but you really only need a couple to be honest. The portion sizes were good and we didn’t leave like we were still hunger or overly stuffed. I feel bad after seeing some of the reviews of people not enjoying the food, but I think people should give it a second try… hopefully, it’ll be better the second time around. I guess we might have been lucky that our food was really good. SERVICE — 4 Stars: The service was pretty good, but it was confusing because we didn’t know if we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated and then order at our table or order at the bar. Anyway, we figured out that you can pretty much just take a seat and then order at the bar. The waitress was very attentive and the guy at the bar was helpful when we asked questions. However, it was funny when I ordered the food because I ordered the Tamago Egg Burger and pronounced it in the correct Japanese way… saying«Ma» like«Mama»(Ta-Ma-Go) and the waitress attempted to correct me, saying«Ma» like«May»(Ta-May-Go). As I speak some Japanese and lived in Japan, it made me laugh. ATMOSPHERE — 5 — Stars: The location is fun and upbeat. It’s great for groups and it’s great to sit towards the front on a nice day. The place is decorated in a cool way. I really liked the over atmosphere… very laid back. RECOMMENDATION: Everyone needs to try the Jazz Fries so you can experience the Crack Sauce. You won’t regret it! Next time, I’ll try a burger, but the Chicken Katsu burger was sooo good, it’ll be hard to pull me off of that.

Check in and get a free bowl of edamame Tamago burger — You can’t go wrong with an egg on your burger. A little on the small side for the price but tasty none the less. But this review is more about their jazz fries with CRACK sauce + brown gravy. I think the crack sauce is just Japanese mayo with ketchup and the gravy is straight from a packet but this combination is surprisingly addicting! The fries are cooovered in the sauce so a fork is required. And then I spreaded the goodness all over my burger. Taste was 4 stars but customer service was 5 stars. Our server, Taurus, who’s the manager, was very helpful and a total sweetheart ! Though the attention was mostly all on us anyways since we came on a late Wednesday night(around midnight). People were out clubbing /roaming the streets, but I guess they weren’t drunk enough yet for the munchies.

Another anticipated burger joint disappointment! =[ ONTOPOFTHATSERVICESUCKEDBALLS! and parking is hard to find… They took foreverrrrrr to take our order. Me and my friend were hungry too and when your hungry your cranky! We ordered the tamago burger because it seemed the most popular. and I wanted to try a spicy burger so we also got the karai(spicy) burger. We cut our burgers in half and shared it with each other. IT was whatevers. I wouldnt come back here again where there are hundreds and hundreds of burger joints in So cal that are better. ONETHING, one thing I did like was the crack fries.

When your bartender is leading the entire waitstaff in a around of FUKUBOMBS, you know this is not your average diner joint. On the contrary, Fuku is young, fresh, hip, and really awesome. Servers are super friendly, nice, and have a great personality. Very friendly and playful — well as playful as a server can be without it being creepy lol. Very«Hollywood» feel, in all the good ways. Décor is like subdued Japanese animé, with pop art and bold reds and cool designs. They have a great throwback soundtrack pumping as well, which just makes the hip young vibe feel even more hip and young. I was already getting giddy walking in based off all this first impression. Food was amazing! Best thing of the night was the garlic edamame. As my bestie said, it tastes like you are licking pepperoni oil, but it’s DAMN good. TRUSTME. Get it. it’s amazing. Then we had the Jazz Fries, which were nice and crispy sitting under a layer of gravy and ketchup… very nice indeed. Finally the burgers! YUMMMM. My friend and I played splitskies with the Mushroom Burger with the fried Shitakes and the Tomago with the Fried Egg inside. Both were amazing! Very unique but all the flavors totally hit home together. Add a few craft beers, and free parking(down Melrose at the meters after 8pm) and you have a kickass night. Would 4.5 this spot if I could, maybe after another burger!

What’s with this place? Came here via a groupon, and the food was quite boring… The mac-salad tasted like watered-down pasta, the fuku moco was DISGUSTING(and I usually loooove loco moco. Thank goodness for pickled ginger or my meal would have been lost… I just DON’T get it. I’d rather walk down to STOUT or UMAMI. Yes, I tried the burger as well and it was nothing to rave about… Thumbs down.

JT! JT seems like he is the heart and soul of Fukuburger! I was there again this weekend and had my favorite Chicken Katsu Burger. The place wasn’t too packed but JT was manning most of the tables. There were a few other servers there, but none of them were as vibrant and friendly as JT was! I love him! He went to every table and had a way of making everyone feel involved! He had a few customers doing jazz exercises to go with their Jazz Fries. I would go back to Fukuburger just to see JT! :D The other three men in my party loved Fukuburger! It was their first time there! From the Falafel burger to the Fukuburger, everything was great! I’ll be back JT! :D Thanks Fukuburger!
