GNC Store

Always well stocked (they seem to have all of the latest items for green drinks, healthy shakes and protein powders and the items shown on TV) and neat and very clean.
They have all of the vitamins and the service is excellent.
They are located inside the Baldwin Hills Plaza, parking is available, they accept credit cards.

All GNC stores are comprised of about 20% nutrient rich vitamins, 50% pseudo scientific snake oils and 30% whey protein. Seriously though, there is so much whey protein. Of course it is one of the best proteins out there so tough luck vegans that stuff is great.
At any rate, please be careful buying things at GNC this store is selling so much it doesn’t check out that it has no idea what it is saying anymore. As a modernist cook I enjoy the bare essential ingredients you can find here. some of these protein shakes are fantastic emulsifiers which let me make things that people would call «overly processed» or «crimes against nature» but when you have a beer cheese sauce that took 5 minutes to make, you’ll thank me.
One such product that is completely snake oil was a coconut milk tablet that GNC was selling. This tablet was entirely 5 grams of saturated fats. These are the bad fats people, the completely saturated hydrocarbon chains that solidify at room temperature and clog your system, yet it was presented as a super food. We all eat saturated fats, they taste great. but taking them in pill form is a terrible idea. Super food is a buzz word, it means nothing and we need to move past it. At anyrate, i love GNC for workout shakes or for modernist cooking, but it’s important to be very careful about what is healthy here and what is pure snake oil…

Really surprised with how great the sales staff is here. I was hesitant to stop in, given the location. But I am really glad I can’t in to meet the staff. «B» the sales associate made my trip great. This is now my home store. No pressure to up sell, knowledgeable and stated she only wants to sell what is effective and what people need. I know my supplements, she spoke the truth.
