wow. the owners actually refused to service the drapes i purchased from them 2 years ago, PUNISHINGMEBECAUSEOFMYPREVIOUS Unilocal! REVIEW! i kid you not. and, as you can see for yourself below, the review was pretty darn positive, fair and honest. i spent thousands of dollars with them, referred several friends(sorry, guys!) and without my permission, they even posted an out-of-context quote from me as a «Testimonial» on their website. makes you question all their testimonials. and for that, they thank me by referring me to another drapery company to repair my drapes(broken due to their poor workmanship to begin with). i was more than happy to pay for the repair, but they refused, citing my previous Unilocal!review. Stacey even quoted it. crazy! listen to the other reviewers: don’t go here unless you enjoy flushing money down the toilet and dealing with head-trippers.

My 1 year old boxer pup tore into one of the cushions on my couch. I mean… tore into it. The cushion was half eaten, the cord could not even be found. After that I was thinking that I either have to buy a new couch or find an angel who could duplicate the other good cushion. I found Gypsys online and took both the damaged and the good cushion over to them. They couldn’t duplicate the good one, so I opted for them to try and repair the damaged one. After about a week and a half, I went over to pick it up and it really is a miracle. Aside from one piece of material in the back, you would never know that it was once damaged goods. These ladies are wonderful and I recommend them very highly. Thank you Gypsys Palace!

So I called this store to get an estimate for custom curtains and they were charging $ 85 to take measurements of our windows. Fine. I paid it and it was done. After I received a very expensive quote they agreed to «massage» the quote and reduce it down to my budget. I verbally agreed for them to do the labor portion of sewing them for me, I would provide the fabric which I was going to buy downtown. On the day that I was to drop off the fabric I was told to call before to confirm the amount that I needed, I phoned the store and the owners cell phone a total of 5 times and got no answers. I then took that as they weren’t showing up so I sourced a new maker for my curtains. Two days later I get a bill for their time. So lame. I wouldn’t do business with them. Save yourself some cash and go downtown. Update: They charged $ 145 to my AMEX without my authorization. Can I give them zero stars?

Definitely pricey, but quality goods. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. To be honest, I’ve only ever gone in there for remnants, but my god I wouldn’t anywhere else but for them. Their remnant box always has EXACTLY what I need for only a few dollars. For example, today I needed a soft brownish-yellow fabric to stitch into a Halloween costume. They had ½ yard of it for $ 5. A few months back I was making a home-made book and needed leather to cover it. They had enough for two books for $ 12. Definitely worth checking out no matter what reason you’re going in there for.

This store is mainly for upholstery and home décor, it seems. The prints they have are gorgeous and they have some nice trims. It is fairly expensive, though! You get what you pay for, and go in expecting to pay a lot! If you don’t need too much fabric, you should check out their chest of leftover fabric bits… it’s usually just a yard or two, but at a discounted price. There is a parking lot in the back(through the alley) which you may be able to park in… I always just park there because I know I’ll be hitting up Show and Atmosphere as well.

I accidentally reviewed this place under my husbands account and now it’s gone. So! The fabrics have gone pretty high end here and can be rather expensive, but the quality looks amazing. No knitting accessories or pillow fluff, but if you want curtains or Ella Enchanted style dresses then you hit the nail on the head. The staff has always been welcoming and it’s fun to go in wishing I knew how to make clothes and stuff… one day, my friends, one day.

This place has a very cozy feel to it, which means it’s small. But for it’s size it packs a punch! The fabrics range from ridiculous in price to playful in print. The staff has generally been helpful if you’re not scared to ask questions(I’m totally freaked out by asking questions since I don’t know jack about sewing!). It also gets points for being in Los Feliz which is chock full of great shops! And as a side note, this account holder doesn’t go to fabric stores… his wife does who didn’t realize that she was using his account. Oops!
