The food is always great. Doesn’t change. Good place to come with a family and the prices aren’t over the top.

I would have given 2 stars but the Menudo was a redeeming factor. First we placed our order and were quoted 45 – 60 minutes but it ended up taking an hour and a half. I paid the delivery guy and of course I was going to tip, but he asked if I needed any change. Just give me my change and I will either tell you to keep it, or tip from it or if I was a jerk I would keep my change which is still my right. Anyways the carne asada fries were edible but the meat was surprisingly very bland, same with the tacos. Dry meat, no flavor, no cilantro or onions, stale tortilla. No flavor at all. But with enough salsa it was fine I guess. But aside from those issues which are in no way the end of the world, THEMENUDOWASTHEBESTIVEEVERHAD! It’s available on weekends and holidays and comes with chopped jalapeños and onions. I will totally put up with lousy service if that menudo is the payoff.

I personally love coming here to chat with friends. The food is cheap and good! I love the servers they are so nice! :) I have never had an issue with my food or any issue what so ever. Great place to come too during the week. Weekends are packed but hey. Nothing is perfect. Keep up the good work Happy Toms! ALSO I love the specials they have. Great burgers at reasonable price!

They got my order wrong after I had to repeat it a few times to the cashier. I’m soo hungry right now. This is not a pleasant experience. I hope when I finally get my food it makes up for having to wait… the food took way to long. My date finished most of her food before I got mine. At least it was good but the whole waiting for my order ordeal is not the business. For being the first time I eat here. I probably won’t eat here again. I’m sure others have good experiences here but unfortunately I did not. I didn’t like how they asked me if I wanted bacon or ham or sausage in my breakfast burrito. Every place I’ve gone to has everything in a breakfast burrito. I did not like how you have to pay for the plate but fries and drink are not included. Maybe it’s because I’m still hungry I wish they would change all that

Found a hair on my French Slam breakfast. Servers didn’t seem to care. Business as usual I guess. Eat here if you like hair on your food.

Lemme start with both BOH and FOH need a lot, and I mean a whole lot more work to put in. Cooks need to remember how to late the foods correctly and not switch up the orders. Expeditors need to make sure that dishes are plated correctly before having it run out. The runner, needs to learn the dishes and ask who got what, instead of just placing them down to whoever he wishes. Food was alright. Warm, not hot. And hash browns weren’t cooked properly. Portions were small for eggs. Idk if the cooks thought that they could stretch one egg to look like two, but certainly not fooling me. Two stars is good enough for today.

Came here ordered 3 meals in total included tip when I payed with my debit card. I ordered the #1 breakfast for myself and I asked for the eggs to be medium. When I got my meal they looked raw I even told the waiter/manager do these look medium cooked to you? He said«well medium cooked eggs are sort of raw» which obviously but that doesn’t mean its full raw which was what I asked him so whatever I ate my meal turned out the eggs weren’t even really cooked later I told him again(once I was done eating except for the eggs) n then he asked if I would like for them to cook me the eggs how I wanted I said I mentioned it to him the first time already when I firat received my food so now that im done why would I want the eggs now. I woulda waited to tip if I knew I would be unhappy with my meal. Oh well

The food was blah. The Denver omelet, not what I ordered, had cheap cheese-food singles inside and on top. And the toast was also some cheap imitation of bread. While the coffee was good, I won’t eat there ever again.

Discovered Happy Tom’s after my stomach went on one of it’s ‘I’m Hungry’ whiney binges. The place seemed pretty cool and had a decent crowd of people already eating. I asked for the cheeseburger combo advertised in the window for $ 5.99. The girl rang it up and it came to $ 8. I asked about pricing and she said the combo in the window was only available during the week. The same combo on weekends is $ 2. more. The cheeseburger took a long time to make. At 15 minutes I began to get antsy and asked for my money back. The girl refused to open the drawer and they made me wait another 5 minutes for my order. When the food came, honestly, it was OK. The fries weren’t bad and the burger was decent. The fake raspberry iced tea was pretty lame. Maybe the locals like it because they don’t know any better and don’t have alternatives, but Unilocaler Jordan M. puts it well when he stated, «…customer service needs work:(»

Denied my request for one side of sour cream instead of the four sides of salsa they gave me. I asked for light beans in my burrito and got one with extra. Guac is actually good but customer service needs work :(

I’ve never been to the actual restaurant so I can’t speak for that specific experience, but I’ve gotten multiple items from the menu and absolutely love it. Their breakfast burritos are bomb. They have a great, diverse menu. Fair prices. Big fan.

2 stars because the place had a lot of Latino customers so it must be ok for that food. I went for a burger and what I got was an overcooked brittle patty no thicker than 1⁄8 inch. Service was slow too. If it’s a burger you want, keep looking

I’m an Echo Park native, so I’ve been coming to Happy Tom’s for YEARS. I have enjoyed watching them grow from just the one side to the double side and now the even more upgraded décor. Nice job! I work in the area and this is a great place to go for lunch, their bacon avocado cheeseburger combo is only $ 5.99!!! Unbelievable price… so when I’m craving a burger, this is the place to go. Staff is extremely friendly. Can’t wait to crave a burger again.

SOLID Carne Asada Burrito. And they deliver! I’m pretty sure that Happy Tom’s and(the very close-by) Rodeo Grill are the same place with different names, or have the same owner, but I actually like Happy Tom’s better. They have a smaller menu than Rodeo but their items taste better. I never seem to get my custom orders correct, and I feel like they remember me so they always mess up my order now? Basic food, decent prices: best way to describe this place.

If Pharrell Williams ate here even he wouldn’t be singing his annoying Happy song! Happy Tom’s is so Crappy in many ways! It’s 7:45-AM on a weekday, there are two other people in the place but already have their food! I order a Bacon Breakfast Burrito and ask for the HASHBROWNS to be cooked on the CRISPY side… is this too much to ask? apparently for some it is! Breakfast Burrito Bacon — Eggs, Bacon Hash Browns & Cheese REMEMBER I’m the ONLY one in the place who hasn’t received their food! So I wait and watch a rebroadcast of an Angels game on TV… 5-Minutes, 10-Minutes WOW how long does it take to make a simple breakfast? 15-Minutes(((HELLO Where’s my FOOD))) I was told it’s taking longer because I asked for CRISPYHASHBROWNS… 20-Minutes(((FINALLY))) the food arrives… are you #@%^&*# Kidding Me?! those hash browns are WHITER than CASPER the Ghost! this took 20-Minutes #@$% YOUHAPPYTOM’S… Eggs were nice, bacon was crispy but needed more, ample amount of cheese and although the salsa was mild it had good flavor! Normally I’d give this Breakfast Burrito OK3-Stars BUTNOT under these circumstances.

Came here for lunch with a group of fellow classmates. We were in a hurry, and I was happy that they were able to accommodate our request for a quick lunch. We were enticed in by the staff there ensuring us that their food would be delicious. One of their advertised meals was their roast chicken with sides for $ 5.99. Although the chicken itself was nicely flavored and came with a spicy dipping sauce, the actual meal didn’t coast $ 5.99. In order to get the $ 5.99 price you had to order a drink which made the meal come out close to $ 9.00. Still not a super expensive plate for lunch, however, it was a bit annoying that the advertisement was a bit misleading. They also have an array of different mexican dishes and breakfast options. Prices are okay, but i’m not too sure that I would go all the way to Echo Park just to get this. Overall the food is okay, but there are definitely better Mexican restaurants to chose from.
