The free Bolsky Gallery at the Otis College of Art and Design is more diverse than its sister gallery(The Ben Maltz Gallery). Both are located on the ground floor of the Bronya & Andy Galef Center for the Fine Arts on the small Otis College campus at Lincoln & La Tijera near LAX. The reason for the diversity is that the Bolsky Gallery features art work of current students at Otis and, more importantly, is organized solely by students. This is a great gallery if you want to see art in its rawest and purest form. The variety of contemporary and original pieces in the small gallery may not appeal to everyone and some may appeal to no one, but there were a few memorable exhibits that show true artistic talent beyond anything I could imagine. Bob Barker would be proud because the price is right. It’s free. The Bolsky gallery is basically an open room which you are free to enter and stay as long as needed. It’s open Tuesday — Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and until 7 p.m. on Thursdays. Parking is also free(if you can find a spot for visitors) in the Otis College parking structure off La Tijera. «I don’t know if it’s art, but I like it!» — Jack Nicholson as the Joker in Batman.
