Hernandez Nursery

I purchased a Palo Verde and a Japanese Maple tree around ⁷⁄₁₅. Thinking I had a problem with one of my trees, I discussed this problem with Kendy and Eric. Eric said, «if you have a problem, we’ll pick it up and work something out.» Kendy called me back in 3 mos. to see if my problems were resolved. Impressive.
My gardener told me these guys are wholesalers that treat every the SAME, and it’s true. And as wholesalers, they have a great selection of drought-​tolerant, low maintenance plants.
For those nay-​sayers, sometimes you get a small tree in a large pot, and sometimes the reverse. It’s the same everywhere. What are you gonna do, waste your day and gas trying to save a few bucks? Some people will complain about anything.

It’s with great displeasure that I write this review. Over the course of the last few years, I have used Hernandez nursery on numerous occasions. Their prices tend to be lower than neighboring nurseries. I learned the hard way, however, that you get what you pay for. I ordered two large plants, paid the $ 20 delivery fee, but NEVER received my plants. I contacted the nursery to request a refund and was promised one, but like my plants — I never got it. My follow up calls were futile. This is an awful way to do business and treat customers in general. Next time, I will spend the extra money and go across the street (or pay with an AMEX).

Staff was very nice and helpful but prices are a complete rip off. I normally compare prices before I shop, but this time I didn’t. Be aware that they base their prices on the size of the pot. The plant I bought was $ 40 there, could have bought that size plant in a smaller pot at home depot for half the price, so basically I bought very expensive dirt!!! These are not whole sale prices, make sure you know what other places charge before going in there…

I just discovered this nursery last week, and immediately purchased three trees at excellent prices for my backyard. This is a family operation run by people who obviously love what they do. I was helped by Kendy, who answered all my questions about the trees and was also really fun to talk with.
In addition, her workers were very helpful and conscientious when carefully loading the trees through my trunk with the back seats folded down, even though they seem to have their hands full with bigger wholesale orders. I highly recommend Hernandez to anyone looking to spruce up their landscaping!

Can’t beat the prices. Home of the $ 6 flats that truly stand out! they are open on sundays and only accept cash but you avoid paying taxes!

Went to Hernandez after visiting a nearby nursery to compare prices on a tree. Gloria Hernandez (nice woman) said she would call. Never got the call so I went back and explained what I needed again to a different woman. She said they couldn’t get my tree. When I asked her why their neighbor could and they couldn’t she said, «I DON’T HAVE TO EXPLAIN IT TO YOU.» I said «Please don’t get upset, I was just curious.» At that point a male (Hernandez?) said «Stop talkin’ sh_​t, leave, and don’t come back. I seriously thought he was going to hit me. Don’t worry Hernandez. I wont be back. Life’s too short. If you agree, try their neighbor. They’re great
