This is the best Indian food I’ve ever had! If you want a meal that taste like your Grandmother or Momma made it then this is the place to have that food. The dining experience felt like I was comfortable and cozy. The wait staff is very attentive and the portions are enough for leftovers. This is my new go to spot for the best Indian-Nepal food in LA!!!

Came here for a quick chicken tikka masala fix… wow I was impressed! Chicken tikka masala($ 12) — a tiny bit on the sweet side but still a great dish nonetheless! There’s plenty of tender and juicy chicken and the spices in the sauce give it an explosion of flavor that sent tingles down my spine. Naan bread– super fluffy and came out piping hot!!! They didn’t mention it was $ 2 so we were kinda surprised and bummed when we got our bill. The server should mention that next time before putting in the order because naan is usually complimentary at most restaurants I know. A lot of items on the menu are decently priced and the food is pretty good. Nice lady(who I believe is the owner or owner’s wife) provided us with great hospitality and continually checked up on us. One of the better tikka masala options around USC! Oh and don’t forget to check in for some free homemade lemonade! It’s huge.

I’ve had this complaint(and as I have come to understand, its shared by many residents of LA)– there’s just no good Indian food in LA(sorry, Artesia is not LA). But now that I’ve eaten at Himalayan House, I feel I can stop complaining. This place is legit– Indian, Nepali cuisine I can attest for its authenticity and deliciousness. Here’s what we got, and I highly recommend these: Vegetable Momos Yak Chili Paneer Makhni Okra Chapati Lamb Korma Rice Request for Indian medium spicy(this level of spice hit the spot). The hostess and proprietor is gracious and service was friendly. Definitely going back to more!

Just ordered their lunch special to go. It was phenomenal! Chicken curry, daal, rice, naan, another side dish(that I don’t know the name of), and kheer. This was all for $ 11…well worth it. I ordered it pretty spicy. They ask you from a scale from 1 – 10 and I got a 7, which ended being a good decision. I’ll be coming back again.

Such good food! Such nice people! They showed us how to do a ‘singing bowl.’ We had perfect nan, fried chicken momos(dumplings), and three dishes plus rice and chai. Reasonable(on the low end of $$) and delicious. So sad the restaurant was nearly empty at 6:30 on a Saturday night. Maybe because it doesn’t have a liquor license? But there’s a liquor store next door…

Awesome awesome awesome Indian food. I love how the waiter asked how spicy we wanted our food on a scale of 1 – 10 vs mild, medium, or hot. I really felt like I was in control of my dish. The taste of the food was on point. My friend ended up ordering another entre to go after he finished eating. He got the curry chicken. I had gotten the curry lamb with mixed veggies which was really good. Another thing is if you check in with Unilocal, you get a homemade lemonade on the house. The lemonade was very tasty. I would definitely come here again

Got take out tonight –I got the jack fruit curry. I also got the kachumber salad and some naan. I have never tried jackfruit until now, so I’m not sure how it supposed to taste but I like what I am eating! I love that this restaurant is less than 2 miles from LA’s best neighborhood Jefferson Park /West Adams. Nice to have something local !

Himalayan House is a three month old business deep in the trenches of USC territory. Bf and I stopped here for lunch after reading all the reviews. We received a complimentary homemade lemonade with Unilocal Check In. The staff was kind enough to put it in a to-go cup for my little girl. I expected the Yak Chili to be gamey, but it wasn’t at all. The marriage of all the various spices came together well. We also tried the Napalese goat curry. The meat was very tender and the seasoning was very flavorful.

Fast service. Good food. Kind personnel. My friend and I were looking for some tasty cuisine near USC. We read the Unilocal reviews and the food sounded good. We had the vegetable momos and veggie chow chow. Both were prepared quickly and served piping hot. The location is a bit dicey, squeezed in between a 24-hour laundromat and a Salvadoran restaurant.

This restaurant is an amazing find! No, the servers were not telling any stories about growing up in Nepal buyt they did give us splendid advice about what to order. Everything was utterly delightful. Samosas, Tuhkpa soup with Yak meat(Yak meat!). Chili chicken! Home made mango ice cream for dessert. Our dinner was seriously amazing in every respect!

Let me start by saying this is a Nepali restaurant and not Indian. But you do get some Indian items as well. The food here especially Thali is very tasty. I can eat that everyday and never get tired.

Wow i would’ve never thought to step foot into this this little gem of a restaurant just by staring in from the outside. This goes to show that you should never judge a book by its cover. Food: 1) lamb vindaloo-so delicious! i’m no vindaloo connoisseur, so I can’t compare this with others, but if this is what vindaloo is, it’s darn good! 2)lemonade-i love home made lemonade absolutely amazing. 3)service-the service here is great. Although it takes a little while for the food to come out, you can except it to be fresh and pipping hot. The waiter, her nameis rajshree is very polite and very friendly. The restaurant is small so they won’t miss you if you need them. Definately i will come back again.

I’ve eaten at a number of nepalese restauraunts in New York City, and Himalayan House in Los Angeles was hands-down the best. We were seated right away. The portion size for the price we paid was very fair. The Momo’s were EXCELLENT as well as the goat and lamb Thali. The spices totally complimented the meat, which melted in your mouth… man I want some now. The waitress asked us if we wanted chai after the meal. We emphatically said yes(I wasn’t sure it was on the menu). It was delicous, like a family recipe. Don’t walk, run to Himalayan House for an awesome meal!

1st time customer here and the food here is delicious. I got the Yak Chilli and the Samosa. Samosa came with 2 dipping sauces, one mexican green chilli and some other brown sauce that was dope. Yak chilli, had that with medium spiciness and that was dope too. Definitely will come back.

Came in around 3PM on a Thursday(unfortunately had just missed their lunch specials!) and it was empty except for a couple dining on the other end of the room. At first glance the restaurant may seem like another Indian/Nepalese type of sit-down spot, but I was more than impressed by the service. If it weren’t for our awesome waiter making great conversation, telling us about his time growing up in Nepal, and constantly refilling our waters, I think that this place would be more of a 3 star. He and(who I assumed was) his mother constantly asked us how our dishes were and came out to say bye as we were leaving. The samosas are large and come with two delicious sauces– one a cilantro and the other something sweet… IDK?! I ordered the aloo gobi extra spicy and it was indeed spicy, but I wasn’t crying at an 8⁄10 spice level so I would definitely go with a 10 if you’re a hot head. Also, bigger and more cauliflower in the dish would have been nice. The basmati rice was really bland, however. Maybe I’ll try the egg biryani next time. Check in for the free lemonade. I’m not a huge lemonade fan, but it had ginger and a hint of clove which made for a really refreshing beverage. I’ve definitely had better Indian food, but the Nepalese flair is worth coming in for.
