Hong Kong Express

Its ok the only thing I absolutely enjoy is the rice and spicy wings. They use to make some good teriyaki chicken but not anymore. Staff is friendly and place is clean.

This place is so delicious! Me and my brother love to go I can’t wait to go again in February. I swear it is much more delicious than Panda Express! The Chow Mien is the best ever and that orange chicken and teriyaki are just perfect, I totally recommend!

Stopped by after work for some food because I was too tired to cook today. The moment I stepped in, I felt like I was brought back to mainland China where I was reuinuted with my crew back in the hood with my dai lo. I used to always get my boys take out back in the days when we met in the shack to plot our next chase. This place rekindled my memories in both traditional fast food taste and excellency in service. They hooked me up with 1 more piece of orange chicken cause I threw my sign and they knew I was from the hood, tough lyfe. Gravity and emotions pushed 1 manly tear through my nasolacrimal duct and it rolled down my cheek as I was reminded that we are all humans, just the same as each othr trying to get through life.
My past is the past. I’m done with my old life. Moved onto the new and better in the states, Cali LA. Lexus IS250. Just like my life, this place is the prosperous future. Strive on. Orange chicken, chow mien 4 lyfe.

I was craving for orange chicken so I decided to dropby at this place to get some. 50% flour on the chicken.

Orange chicken doesn’t even have a lot of chicken It’s more like whatever they fry it than anything. It’s hard and is not all that good. Very disappointed. Chow mein is descent.

I had heard of this place from a friend who had eaten at their Hollywood branch.
I finally had a chance to go to the one downtown LA. I took a friend along. Our budget was $ 5.
This spot is in a cute place called International Food court with a number of food stalls from different parts of the world, Chinese, Persian, Japanese if I’m not sure, etc. It’s clean, you grab a a table in the centre of the food court and munch away. A homeless man or two might come by and beg.
They let you sample if you can’t make up your mind what you want. You get a small sample in a tooth pick. I had Chicken wings and Orange chicken. I thoroughly enjoyed my food. My combo came with half fried rice and half chow mein which wasn’t half by any means. Huge servings! I had mine for lunch and dinner.

Decent food. It tastes what it supposed to taste like. They get the stars they deserced cuz of the price and fast service. Ppl there are not that bad compare to other Chinese fast food restaurants. Overall they do the job right. Let’s be real. This is a Chinese fast food.

Great service, Annie and an older asian woman are so sweet. The orange chicken is always crispy and not overcooked. The portions are large and prices are cheap.

Was craving some Chinese food. Unilocal it and HKE pop up.
They definitely exceeded my expectation I was very please with the food. Waayyy better than Panda Express. The price is reasonably with big portion. The spicy black pepper chicken wing is a must try. So delicious! Yummy to my tummy. The staff doesn’t speak much English and I guess some people consider that being «rude» I find them nice and this is a fast food restaurant people of course there is no table service. I WILL BE BACK HKE, I will be back for you my black pepper chicken wing!!.

Seruously whats wrong with this people giving this disgusting chinese food place such a high rating the skinny young girl is rude as well as the older lady there when i went there they have like these slide thru doors where the cooks walk in and i had to witness this disgusting man sweating like a pig mixing the chow Maine with his bare hands then cleaned his sweat he was literally pouring huge drops even from his hair and went back to mixing the chow maine i will never visit this place ever again & i give this place no stars at all the only reason i added one was because this requires me to give it a star rating other wise it will not post

I have absolutely no idea how this place has 5 stars! Either the people posting are related to this place or people just like shitty service, mediocre food, and small portions (which considering the taste i dont mind one bit) So ive been going to the chinese food place on Manchester and Figueroa, cant think of the name but ill be sure to post my review when i go back, so i thought hmmmm maybe theres just as good places around my home let me look it up on Unilocal and see, i saw this place is very close to my home and was excited after i saw 5 stars! So i made my way there within 10 minutes. HUGE HUGE MISTAKE! As soon as i walked in no hello, not even a smile, but ok maybe the food will make up for it right? WROOOONNGGGG! The young asian girl was literally nit picking through my beef and broccoli so as to make sure she didnt put too much on my plate, i felt so uncomfortable! Very small portions and when i got home my kids LOVE chinese food but when i served them they didnt even eat ¹⁄₃ of the plate! The noodles were the same i buy prepackaged, same taste and just as skinny. Never again. Ill keep driving to manchester and firgueroa where they have good customer service, delicious food, and Huge portions!

The other day, I had to drive down a couple of blocks to another joint because HKE wasn’t open yet. I was very unhappy because I’ve clearly been spoiled.
The staff is super friendly. The portions are huge. The food is always fresh. The food is absolutely delicious. And the prices are reasonable. I have been a usual at this place since it opened years ago. In fact, I’m eating a plate of deliciousness right now.
I highly recommend the spicy chicken, kumpao chicken, orange chicken, sesame chicken, beef broccoli, teriyaki chicken, soups, shrimp fried rice, eggrolls, and their honeydew melon shakes!
I would go for these guys over Panda Express any time.

This place beats panda express any day. Their food is fresh, fast, cheap and tasty. I highly recommend the black pepper chicken wings, the spicy chicken wings, the beef and broccoli, and teriyaki chicken… soo good! I like getting the combo B, comes with chow mien or fried rice/​white rice and 2 sides for $ 5.29. They give you a lot of food! The have some made to order stuff that I’ve tried too that are pretty good, the wonton soup is my favorite.
Check this place out! It’s worth it.

I always drive to this HK Express whenever I am in the area for their big portions and great flavors. Best orange chicken and beef broccoli. And how can I forget the chicken wings; I always order them! You have to try them.

I just moved to the area and have been looking for my every day go-​to chinese place. Found this gem! I’ve tried a couple around the area, but Hong Kong Express has an authentic taste to it with the best flavor. They give big portions too. I’ve been coming here 3 days in a row now!

I always come here whenever I’m in the area. HK Express makes the best chicken wings, egg rolls, orange chicken, and beef and broccoli. They definitely give you the best bang for the buck because their portion size are huge! Best of all, their ingredients are always fresh and the place is super clean. Beats Panda Express anytime of the day!

This Hong Kong Express is really awesome! Talk about bang for your buck! Everything’s made fresh and there are so many varieties. I’ve gotten the party trays a few times now for school events and parties. The prices are unbeatable! The owner is really sweet, and the staff are always friendly.
I would definitely recommend coming here if you’re in the area and feeling like Chinese food.
