I called to try to set up an appointment to throw a party here and some guy Mason picked up the phone and halfway through the sentence hung up on me, i called back 5 times and he just sent me straight to voicemail. Very un professional and quite rude.

First time herald it was very cool! Intimate and cozy, but the wall décor, with the quilt like fabric, was a little odd. Most of the figurines had a Thai feel to if but that quilt thing made me think if flayed human skin because of the red lights. There are a couple«stages» or performing areas, I prefer the one by the outside area, because it was stuffy inside. Was at the bar, got drinks, and was trying to get back to the other stage but to get there you have to walk through a crowd which was listening to the performers right beside the bar. I said excuse me to one of the guests but I guess he didn’t hear me so I nudged him a bit, he than made a big fuss and said«Say excuse me and wait for people to move out of the way. Don’t push.» I apologised but he kept saying it over and over, my god. Seriously? It wasn’t like any drinks were spilled, no harm, you are standing in a crowd, expect to be nudged or bumped into. Oh yeah he was a 5’9−5’10 African American male and I’m a 5′ Chinese American, c’mon, relax. Bartenders are cool, drinks are good, bathrooms are clean too.

Went to a band showcase the other week. First, very nice employees. Very helpful in helping me find where to go once I arrived at House of Blues– and very helpful in explaining what else was going on at the other clubs in the building that night. We found a nice comfy sofa, since we arrived early. Good thing too because the place was packed. They got a really good turn-out, and the concert was a big hit. It was a really fun night.

The Foundation Room is a true lounge, sexy, comfortable, great food, great service(John is the ultimate server and knows the history of HOB) we have been members for 5 years and so sad to see it go in 6 months. LA should have made it a historical site, but it seems $$$ always wins. Go enjoy a fine dinning experience or a rock show while it is still there. Dana & Bob

There are very few places that can provide enough of a buzz to make you not only want to come back, but make you want to bring others and tell the world, which is what the foundation room has done. The décor is beautiful, in an illuminati-esque there’s-so-much-going-on atmosphere inside. Available only to members and their guests, it’s a beautiful set of winding rooms and bars, where you can host private events and parties. Worth a visit if you know the right people.

I have always loved this bar, the native tribes and voodoo themed décor, the ambiance, the drinks, and DJ or live band, everything is just so much FUN! Went there on halloween night, there was a live band performance, we didn’t know, we told the staffs that we just wanted to have some drinks at the bar, they let us in without cover charge, even though we stayed for the live music, but we did buy one copy of the CDs in the end, we didn’t just enjoy the live performance for free. The music was not bad, very energetic. It got so packed late night, friendly people in costumes, DJ spinning, everybody was talking to everybody, it was a lot of fun, we had an amazing time on that Halloween night! The dancer was gorgeous and friendly, DJ crystal was a lot of fun to hang with! I’d definitely want to come back whenever we are in the hood! Ps. Drinks are expensive, $ 20 each, but they were huge and very very strong!

I have been to the House of Blues before but never to the Foundation Room. I loved entering the big wood doors, it had the feel of entering a secret world or a speakeasy. Inside is amazing looking, make sure to look at the ceiling. It did get a bit crowded and stuffy for a while but that is to be expected on a Friday night. Thennnnn, .I go to the bar, texting people who won’t let me in(oh my LA) I order an LA City Water from a female bar tender. She looks at me funny like she doesn’t know what is in it. I have only ordered it once, from Barneys,(their it was a blue drink that tasted wonderful). She then says well okay but this is what I put in it, and rattles of a list which I can only remember her saying: Gin, rum, Vodka, blue curacao, and midori. I say, okay sounds good to me. I get the drink and it tastes like what I had at Barneys, great. Strong but sweet but not as strong as an AMF which is a good drink but I won’t order because it is just to strong for me. The music is not what I thought it would be but still good and then finally later there was jazz music and it was wonderful. I was having fun listening to the band. The crowd mainly in their mid 20’s to 30’s. In hipster hats and the ladies in stylish clothing. I decide to get another drink(this is now maybe an hour and a half later). I go to the bar and get a male bartender. I tell him I want a regular water and also an LA City Water. He says okay. He pours me both drinks and sets them down. I look at the drink and it is brown. Huh? I say. That doesn’t look like an LA City Water? I thought they were blue. No, he says this is what it is, I have been making them for 20 years. Oh well, the lady over there made me one earlier and it didn’t look like that. A girl sitting at the bar chimes in and says, oh she probably made you an AMF. I said no I can’t drink that drink it is to strong. I took a sip and it was okay but definitely not as tasty as the drink the other bar tender made for me. The bartender says something like well she didn’t make you this. I said oh then I want what she made me. Apparently his pride was hurt and he takes the drinks away from me and says, no more drinks for you. I saw I will just get a drink from her. So I move over but by the time I get to where the female bar tender is, he has already pointed to me and told her not to give me drinks. Are you serious? He is cutting me off because I don’t like his drink? What happened to pleasing the customer? I know bar tenders that will customize a drink for you just to make it right, apparently he has been a bar tender for 20 years but he doesn’t seem to like his customers to much. His whole vibe from the beginning was what do you want. A rude sort of disposition, which a bartender in my opinion should not have. I see the male bartender pointing at me as I am sitting at the bar. I get a tap on my shoulder. A very big man says come here, lets talk. He is obviously security or a bouncer. I hop off of my chair and say okay. We go to a side area slightly outside of the main room by where the bathrooms are. He asks me what the problem is. I don’t have a problem. I tell him that the bar tender won’t serve me a drink. The security tells me that the bartender thinks I am drunk. I tried to refrain from laughing. I say I will admit I am tipsy but I am not drunk and did the bar tender tell you what I ordered? he says no. I say I ordered a water and a drink. I ordered the water to sober myself up, it is a way to even your system out. The security tells me to hold on a minute. He comes back and says you can stay but you can’t order any more drinks. I can stay? He is acting as if I threw some sort of huge fit and caused a scene or I threw a water in the bar tenders face or did something outrageous. I simply told him I didn’t think the drink was the same drink. I say okay but can I get a glass of water with ice in it please. He gets me the water and then we are done. I go into the bathroom to chill out for a while because to be honest I am confused and a bit annoyed. I told the security, I am not here to cause problems. I am here to have fun. I finally go back out to the bar. I sit down at the bar and ask a completely different bar tender for a glass of ice with water in it. He gives it to me and I give him a tip. The original bar tender looks at me from time to time. I looked at him and inside my head I wished him well because I don’t want to have anger in my heart. I think he was baffled and kept looking at me. I think I would have given them 4 stars or more had the bartender not been so uptight. It soured my night something awful. The security guard came up to me later and said are you okay now? I said to him, I was never not okay. He said well are you better. I said I wasn’t worse. I couldn’t believe it. I told him I wasn’t the one with the problem, I was fine. I probably won’t go back even though it was a cool vibe.

The House of Blues is a great place for bands to perform and is even better on a night where there are more bands than one can shake a stick at. As a musician, it’s a great place to network by passing out business cards, show fliers, CD’s and just chatting. From what I understand, the Foundation Room is usually a VIP spot for the prissy Hollywood people that can’t feel special unless daddy’s money is giving them an exclusive club to be a part of. Why is there a guy in the bathroom to give me soap and paper towels? I can do that myself. Talk about a job with some security. It’s strange. Drinks and parking are on par with the rest of Hollywood by being expensive and crappy, respectively. The parking at the venue is $ 20 and valet only(for that rich prick atmosphere, I guess) or one can park at any of the other Hollywood lots. On that note, there was a bit of misleading and unclear information passed on to me by the man in charge of the event that night(Charles, I believe his name is) in regards to parking an load in. While he did not want to assist in correcting the problem, his lovely assistant, Erica, was more than willing to help out and she made the experience at the House Of Blues an incredible one. She is the best.

What a treat! We made reservations here before our Dita Von Teese burlesque show and had the most wonderful time. The Foundation Room is gorgeous and the service is impressive to say the least. Our server John was amazing. He read our minds and anticipated our needs. The entire staff worked so hard to make sure our party of 6 was happy and served in time to make our show. The food was delicious, the drinks were perfect, the scenery was gorgeous and our experience was above and beyond wonderful. We had such a fun, unforgettable time and hope to make it back soon. Thank you!

The place is a little confusing with the different areas of performance, but once inside you will be in for a treat. Nice and close feeling to meet new people and good bartenders that make great recommendations on drinks. Prices are a high. A Jack and Coke will set you back $ 11 and valet another $ 20.

Woop! Here it is! You need to be a VIP to get in, or at least a member, or at least a friend of a member(I am! I am!). Gorgeous, fun, and ultra cool. Love the Prayer room, skulls everywhere, idols, the food served, and the bar. Don’t love the view of the stage. If you eat first, you’ll give up prime seats that overlook the stage of a balcony view as it’s on the second floor. You’ll end up peering thru others, at best. You’ll want to eat, see the show downstairs, then party like a Rockstar back upstairs in the Foundation room. Usually, there really are parties upstairs after… but it’s for VIP. Maybe if you«flash’em your goodies» it’s a pass. The food served is pretty stellar, too. The menu is small, but they nail it.

I’ve been to the House of Blues many times, always to see an act in the main room. This was my first time in the foundation room and I found it to be an odd experience. First off, the acoustics are good. The actual room itself wasn’t too bad for a smaller crowd. HOWEVER, things got weird when people were trying to move from the foundation room to the adjacent room. The same problems occurred when the band that was to follow my friend’s band started setting up and moving their gear toward the stage during the set. In both these instances, people were shoving and practically beating each other up over places to stand so people could move through the room/set up. I’m an avid concert-goer and have been to many venues, I’ve never seen this happen. As a member of the audience it was hard to concentrate on the band I actually went to see. And once their set was over it still took the following band so long to set up, they needn’t have started early and interrupted the band before them. I think the way this room is run is a little amateur compared to the main venue. Unless I personally know the act playing, I wouldn’t come here again.

They have a parking lot but most places do and charge anyway. The bartenders are cool as fuck and are totally into music and people. The environment is amazing and exclusive. Since I’m in a band I get to go pretty much anywhere I want. The view from behind the bar is awesome. The price for beer and alcohol seem normal for hollywood. The food was amazing and the beers tasted so good.

This is one of my favorite private clubs in Los Angeles. I love the truffle mac and cheese and all of the concierges. The free Valet parking is awesome since I don’t have to pay $ 20. I wish I could go more often. Seriously, the room with the Blue Skull chandelier is one of the most badass and romantic tables to eat in all of Los Angeles. But it’s on a patio balcony overlooking the city, so make sure you go when the weather is great. The interior décor is awesome, but I freaking hate it when I come to the Foundation Room when it is open to non-members because it totally takes the intimate and exclusive vibe out of the experience. But regardless, I really love this place. Totally worth the membership fee.

Of course the Foundation Room gets 5 stars from me! Other than the expensive-ass cost of valet($ 20… really? Lame) the place is one of the best in Hollywood. It really is a piece of history to be able to visit any part of the House of Blues, especially the iconic Foundation Room. I went there the other night to see my friend play, although I didn’t get there in time(do I ever?) I did get the chance to hang out for a bit. I’ve seen a few hot guys there in the past, unfortunately I couldn’t act on anything because I was usually with my ex… but I would definitely go back to look for hotties again now that I’m single :) Overall, it’s a great place to hear amazing music & once in a while you can get lucky with some hot musicians… I amuse the crap out of myself with my Unilocal reviews. Enjoy life!

The foundation room is a members only section on the 3rd floor of the House of Blues Sunset. I love the fact that it’s exclusive and a much quieter place to chill and have a drink. I’ve been inside the foundation room once as a guest of a member and just recently at a Leap Year private event. The event was to showcase the Foundation Room to attract new members. I was pleasantly surprised that the membership cost was less than I expected. The basic membership was about $ 1,000 for a year. You can bring in up to 3 guests. The Foundation room is quite impressive so if you own a business in the area, this would be a great place to take clients and get a tax write off on the membership. It would be much less expensive then getting season tickets to the Staples Center! Often times the band performing will hang out at the Foundation Room before/after they go on stage. Most of the bands invite their celebrity friends to come watch them so there is a good chance you can run into someone you may recognize. The location being on the sunset strip makes it pretty likely to bump into a celebrity. It is definitely a «scene».
