I adore these guys. They are a comic duo that do AMAZING magic. I’ve seen their shows several times and I am just a huge fan of theirs. Seen them at this show: How To Convincingly Fake Honesty and I’ve seen them at the Magic Castle… and their new show they have. These two are just amazing in public and they are great magicians. I took my husband and his friends here… and my husband gets bored easily… SOSO easily. My husband has some sort of calming ADHD because he’s a calm guy but he gets bored easily… SOSO Easily. He was able to pay attention to this whole show! It was great! So if my husband liked it… then you know it’s good. Cuz seriously… Calming ADHD. Their magic is awesome. Their comedy is awesome. Their chemistry is awesome. Seriously… if you have to see a magic show, this is one to see. These two guys are just great.

I don’t know what I can add that Nelson F. hasn’t already covered, but here goes… Part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival, this is an amazing and hilarious comedy/magic show that is playing until TOMORROW! It is at the Open Fist Theatre, which is a pretty small venue on Santa Monica. But it’s perfect for the show and there are no bad seats. One of the great parts of this show is that David Blatter and Leeman Parker use so many audience members as participants in their show. It’s a lot of fun just to watch, but even more fun when you get to participate! We were constantly laughing throughout the show because of David and Leeman’s hilarious banter, both with each other and with the audience and/or participant. They would have been great just as comedians, but the fact that they can do impressive magic makes the show so much better. They do several different routines, some of which are more funny than impressive but others that really wow you and make you wonder if magic is really real. The show is an hour long and the time just flies by because you’re having so much fun! And with ticket prices being $ 9 after fees on Goldstar(or $ 12 if you buy from the website), there is no reason to check this out. They added one last show tomorrow night at 6PM so if you can, you should definitely make it :)

This is a comedy magic show starring and written by David Blatter and Leeman Parker, directed by Jon Armstrong. It is part of the 2013 Hollywood Fringe Festival playing 6 shows until Jun 6. They are winners of the 2012 Los Angeles Comedy Festival and returning Top 10 Show of Hollywood Fringe Festival 2012. David & Leeman are 2 local magicians who have managed to come up with a ridiculously funny stage performance that syncs perfectly together. Here we have two talented young magicians who expertly produce several magic routines, but are somewhat upstaged by the fast and furious banter that goes on between them. But that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as it makes the show that much more enjoyable and elevates the characters to a whole new level. As a Magic Castle member who has seen literally hundreds of performances, this is definitely something special and easily in my top ten. Their quick banter and the way the personalities play against each other are the highlights, providing us with something different from any other magic show. Using straight comedy magic to mystifying mentalism and supernatural routines, their humor and constant back and forth had me mesmerized at the edge of my seat wanting to see more. For an hour long show, this is something very rare and with the audience participation makes it look as if some of the show is improvised and jokes made up on the spot which they handle well. Both hilarious and brilliant, the two magicians have excellent chemistry which they play off each other perfectly, something that’s rare to find. It’s exciting to see so many cutting edge magicians that raise the bar and the opportunity to see them so close to home. Tickets for this are $ 12, but they are available on for only $ 6! It’s open seating also, so you don’t get cheap seats with the cheap tickets and for that price it’s a steal! Hats off to Jon Armstrong as well, who’s own geeky sense of humor and seasoned experience as a magician had his fingerprints printed all over the performance as the director. Masterfully done! Can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
