History
Established in 1996.
Founded in 1995 by Dr. Armstrong, the Southern California Spine Institute (SCSI) offers a multidisciplinary approach to spine care, where the whole patient is looked at, their lifestyle, as well as the specific spine problem. First, the anatomy of the problem is defined and then a comprehensive, conservative approach is emphasized. Through our network of conservative management experts that includes chiropractic, physical therapist, pain management, specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), we endeavor to use surgery as the court of last resort. If the condition will only respond to surgical procedures, SCSI offers the latest minimally invasive techniques as well as major spinal reconstruction, including artificial discs. Dr. Armstrong is a board-certified neurosurgeon who has received additional fellowship training in spinal surgery. As one of the top spinal surgeons in Southern California, he is the medical director of SCSI.
