First time getting bibimbap in California after not having it in years. I forgot how good it was and Jeon Ju reminded me. Great place to grad a quick bibimbap and leave feeling satisfied!

Food is great. Service is decent. Parking is pretty easy. But the best part? The side dishes. The Kimchi is super fresh. And they always include a variety of soups. It’s as if the owner took a poll on what the best side dishes are, and only included them along with the main meals.

After a trip to Korea, I was determined to recreate my bimbimbap experience, and I did it here! They have amazing manduguk as well. Great prices and really nice staff too! But seriously, get the bimbimbap. So freaking good.

Modern Ambiance & great service but the bibmbap was really dry. The selection of bonchon was not that great. Too bad because the place could do really well if they improve food quality

It has been awhile since my last visit to k-town, came to this plaza by accidentally turning to the parking lot while I was hungry. Ordered galbi bibimbap and kimchi jjigae. The bibimbap came first with a short wait(it was 3 pm on a weekday) in a piping hot stone bowl. It did not have much sesame oil smell like the typical ones you get from similar eateries, but the ingredients were flavorful and well balanced. I like it! The kimchi soup was also a huge surprise to me. It was the sour aged kimchi soup, with minimal stinky smell. It also had flavor, but not much vegi except onion. In any case, I really like this soup and I would give this soup 5-star. Serive was typical. Everyone was friendly and you need to call for their attention if you need something. I really like the kimchi soup and I will be back to try other dishes.

One of my favorite foods to get in LA besides Phở is Bibimbap. I asked Jonathan Gold on twitter where I could find the best bibimbap in LA and he said this place. I came, I saw and I ate. I was the only white dude in the restaurant, which was hilarious. It’s a little hole in the wall neighborhood spot downstairs in a strip mall, so go figure. :) It didn’t matter though as all i cared about was the food, which was fantastic. They give you 18 kinds of kimchi, which I feel like is a meal in itself. But, I don’t mind. I got the hot sizzling bibimbap and I crushed every last morsel. Was worth hunting this place down and finding it. Go find this hole in the wall, you won’t regret it.

We came to LA Koreatown looking for a good Korean fare, and decided to check out Jeonju after reading a number of positive reviews on Unilocal.During our morning visit, the atmosphere was subdued with plenty of indirect sunlight coming through the windows. The hole in the wall décor was fitting for casual dining and quiet conversations, and included tiled floors, three rows of tables, and a TV in the background. They carried 6 different versions of Dolsot Bibimbap and a list of home-style dishes. The Galbi Dolsot Bibimbap($ 13.79) came with well-seasoned beef short ribs, a series of banchan items, sunny side up egg, rice, and served in a scorching hot stone bowl. To the chef’s credit, the beef short ribs were delicious, but the rice was unevenly charred at the bottom. Portions were surprisingly small even though the price was higher than expected. It was a decent ensemble of ingredients, but I still like the one at Seongbukdong the best. Next, the Saengtae Jjigae($ 15.65) came with a good amount of fresh pollack, shrimps, fish eggs, tofu, and vegetables. This boiling hot stew arrived with fresh fish and full of robust flavor. Despite the fishy aftertaste, the spicy profile of the stew was spot on, complex, with flavors rendered from the chrysanthemum leaves, cucumber, and other seasonings. The side of purple rice was delicious as well. The fish stew presented a better value than the short rib bibimbap. We were provided 11 banchan items to keep company as we waited for the entrees to arrive. Service was minimal, but friendly and efficient. I would be interested in giving this place another chance and try their grilled fish dishes and beef stews.

My go-to place for bibimbap! They don’t skimp on the toppings and their banchans are great too. Love their wifi password lol

A very pleasant hole-in-the-wall dining experience. This restaurant looks non-descript from the outside, but is bright, tidy and clean once you’re inside. It’s a good size for dining groups of 1, 2, and 4. It’s family run, everyone was really nice and helpful. The focus is on dol sot bibimbap and soups, with many varieties to choose from, including vegetarian ones. But there are the other usual items like pancakes and japchae. Banchan was also good, kimchi was sharp without being too hot. The potato salad was a little on the sweet side for me. There were three of us, there were plenty of leftovers, which the folks there helped box and bag up. Leftovers were delicious! Coming upon Jeon Ju was a random discovery, as my group was from out of town and briefly stopping at a Korean grocery store nearby and we were almost about to cross the street to eat elsewhere, but decided to peek at the menu. We love dol sot bibimbap, so once we saw how many were available, we went straight inside. I hope to come back if I’m in the area again.

Tiny humble restaurant in a corner K-Town strip mall. Was suggested to me by a friend who lives in the area and am so glad we ate here. The woman who served us was incredibly friendly and bubbly. She kindly accommodated my friend’s ‘no egg, no mushrooms please’ in his order as well as pointed out that one of the pickled goodies were also mushrooms, smiled and laughed with us when I said thank you for pointing it out. I’m a huge fan of any and all banchan, so I was in heaven. The food is so delicious, the menu also has lots of other great options to choose from, but I just couldn’t eat anymore… I will definitely be back to try other things. Happy happy!

Good Korean comfort food at extremely affordable prices. I wonder how these places make money with the amount of food they give you. Just to start, everyone gets a soup, a small bowl of noodle soup and then 50 million banchans. If you love variety, you’ll love this place. We got the veggie bibimbap, kimchi chigae and grilled mackerel. The mackerel itself was such a steal. A huge piece for like 12 bucks! Other places charge at least 15 – 18. The kimchi chigae was bomb and not a drop of it was left. The bibimbap was good but I wish we got the galbi one instead. Service was good, food was good and super reasonably priced… I’ll definitely be back!

They have some BOMB food here, and I will be back! We got the bean curd dregs soup and the bulgogi bibimbap. Both were delicious. The bibimbap, especially, was notable and more flavorful than other bibimbaps I’ve tried at other places. Flavors were ON point! Also, I was pleased with the many banchan that came, some of which I hadn’t seen before, so that was exciting for me. This is Korean food made well. Go pay them a visit!

I’m so excited our friends introduced us to Jeon Ju! I love bibimbap! This place specializes in bibimbap… so obviously it will be great. We ordered the galbi dolsot bibimbap($ 13). BOMB. Comes out hot in a clay pot. You add your chili paste and mix that bad boy up and enjoy! Another great thing about this place is that with your bibimbap, you get a couple of soups to start(a seaweed one and a daikon one). Delicious! Also, the ban chan is on point here… and they give you a lot of it! I also have to mention that the kimchi is delicious here(not too overly garlicy). Service: They only speak korean but are very friendly. Ambience: Casual and relatively small. This place did get packed as we were eating with a little bit of a wait. Parking: This restaurant is part of a strip mall and has a small parking lot. I didn’t have a hard time finding parking… but if you do, there is street parking. Overall: I look forward to coming here again with the hubs.

With the colder weather upon us, I seem to always want to eat something really hot to warm up the bones. I’ve had this place bookmarked for the longest time and I finally had a chance to dine here tonight. The décor inside is very minimalist with wooden tables and chairs. The menu was filled with various types of bibimbap dishes and the one I wanted was the Kimchi Dolsot(hot stone pot) Bibimbap which seemed to be a crowd pleaser and the lady taking my order seemed to grunt in agreement of my apparent good choice. She promptly brought out the several small bowls of complimentary side dishes(banchan). I was pleased there were a few liquid type choices; one with kelp, another with ramen noodles and another with cabbage. The rest were the more traditional Korean sides typically served in these types of restaurants. I went to town on the side bowls since I hadn’t eaten all day and was«hangry» as can be. Then she set down a black stone pot that was sizzling away. She warned me that«it is very hot» and I just mixed in the red spicy bean paste and mixed all the ingredients together. It look so very appetizing and I couldn’t wait to eat it. I really enjoyed eating my dish as I could hear the crackling of the rice as it was cooked by the very hot stone. It made parts of my rice crispy. I did enjoy eating everything although I thought some of the dishes to be somewhat bland especially the bibimbap. I expected it to be a lot spicier especially with the kimchi ingredient but it couldn’t get it to my desired spice level even while adding more of the spicy red bean paste and even resorted to pouring in the pot some of the juices from the spicier banchan dishes. Nevertheless, it was a satisfying and filling meal. I was completely satiated. For all the food served me, I thought the price was a really good deal as my final bill came to $ 11. Even with that price, there was a cheaper lunch special on the menu. Glad I was able to knock off one of my bookmarks of eateries in this area and I’m sure I’ll come back again sometime in the future.

Who says your shouldn’t play with your food. When you order a bibimbap, it’s part of the experience! So I came here after watching a YouTube video about how Ktown food stacks up to food in Korea and Jeon Ju represented Ktown well! Fighting! Jeon Ju is located in a small shopping center with a small parking lot. The security guard will help you or tell you that you can’t back in… Jeon Ju is on the far left corner. Walking in you are greeted by some young ahjummas. The restaurant has around 20 tables but even on a Friday, it wasn’t packed. The menu has different types of bibimbap and also other dishes. Since they are known for their bibimbap, I opted for the bulgogi dolsot bibimbap. So you think you are only going to get you usual banchan(which of course you get) but in addition to the banchan, out comes a seaweed soup and a kimchi tasting cold noodle soup. All this before the main event. The bibimbap is packed with tons of ingredients. Honestly, meat and vegetable to rice ratio was ridiculous. I expected tons of rice but nope, they are trying to help you watch your figure. JK. Anyway, you got your gochujang in hand and squirt away. After a bit of mixing, it’s time to dig in. A piece of advice, try to leave a layer at the bottom so that the rice can continue to cook on the hot stone and you can end your meal with crispy rice. The bibimbap was very tasty with tons of meat and all types of vegetables. The gochujang wasn’t as strong as I liked so I just had to put more in. I also wished there was more sesame oil flavor but maybe that’s just my preference. Gamsa habnida ahjummas for the wonderful meal and the great service. Super friend and attentive and also wonderful chefs. Also thank you for refilling our waters and having a tv for us to watch while we eat.

Hands down my favorite place for bibimbap! They have 11 or 12 different kinds you can get in the hot stone pot and you can change up the rice to the purple rice if you’d like! The banchan is always delicious and unlimited, just like in Korea, and the food is high quality and delicious. I like the kalbi and bulgogi bibimbap but there are so many options. Have been here multiple times and it’s affordable as well as delicious. Go go go!

I came here on a recommendation from a friend. It was difficult to make a decision, as there were so many options. I ended up getting the dosolt bibimbap with seafood. To start, the banchan spread was amazing. Everything was super fresh and tasted great. I really appreciated the wide diversity of dishes. The bibimbap itself was also very good. The variety of pickled vegetables was nice, and I had plenty of opportunity to douse it with as much gochujang as I could. I think it could have used just a bit more sesame oil. Other than that, I felt like some of the seafood could have been more fresh. This was especially true for the shrimp and oysters that seemed to be a bit sandy and dry. I would definitely come back to try some of their other stuff in the future.

If you’re having a craving for some good Dolsot Bibimbap, go here and avoid Bibigo. SERIOUSLY. The bibimbap they serve here is legit. I came with a few friends and they all enjoyed it. This place serves some good banchan and the complimentary chilled noodles was a nice touch. I got the Dolsot Bibimbap with Bulgogi and shared an order of Dweji Bulgogi(Spicy Pork Bulgogi) and Maeun Tang(Spicy Fish Stew). I’d advise against getting more food beyond the bibimbap unless you and your friends are extremely famished because it is deceptively filling. The damn stone pot is sizzling your bibimbap which slows down your eating rate, making you feel full without eating as much. I’ve had better Dweji Bulgogi at other places and at home; I probably won’t get this again. The Maeun Tang was good, not overly fishy in taste with a good kick in terms of spice. Only real complaint was that our food took over 30 minutes for it to come out. And I wish the gochujang(red pepper paste) were a bit spicier. Located in a small strip mall; very small lot for parking on the premises.

Best bibimbap in LA? Umm, I think not. Though I haven’t had a ton of bibimbap, I could tell this wasn’t mindblowing or the best. Located in a strip mall, tiny little restaurant. Terrible service I must say. Not only did it take way too long to get our food, we got dirty utensils and I literally asked the waitress 3 times for a new spoon. Nothing, no eye contact(I was speaking directly to her), not even a faint grunt or comprehension. So taking off stars for that. In terms of food. Bibimbap is the highlight of this place. But gosh, the toppings were so sadly portioned. The amount of meat for the bowl was so sad, so little. For $ 11~$ 13/bowl, you should get a little more meat than this!(see picture). It was also overall a bit bland and dry. The sauce was not spicy at all, and overall, after mixing the bowl and having it all cooked down, it was still bland and dry. The rice was crispy in some parts and were delicious. Banchans were good and fresh, especially liked the little omelet banchan and the warm somen type noodle banchan. With all these other choices in Ktown, I don’t think I’ll be back.
