Jose Rodriguez’s Fruit Stand

I always grab a cup of fruits whenever I go to the Wells Fargo ATM. Its healthy and it gives balance on my unhealthy diet. Don’t forget to tip Jose!

These little fruit stands are a dime a dozen in Los Angeles, so when my friend/​co-​worker kept telling me «I need my fruit cup! I HAVE to get my fruit cup! It’s amazing!» I mean, this girl needs her fucking fruit cup on a regular basis. Anyhow, I was a bit skeptical and it took a few weeks before I actually tried this particular fruit stand, which is also conveniently located walking distance from our place of employment.
So I finally decided to try this vendor’s fruit (non-​sexual). There are 3 different sizes available: small container, large container, and a cup. The cup is by far the best value… granted I haven’t inquired about the other 2 sizes. Anyways, the cup is large size and only 4 bucks for whatever the hell you want!
The first time I went, I decided to get all of the fruit so as to not be discriminatory towards any of the fruit and give them all a chance. All of the fruit consists of mango, watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, orange, coconut, cucumber, and jicama. You then get the option of having delicious key lime squeezed all over the fruit as well as salt and/​or chili powder.
Being of Hispanic descent I opted for the chili-​powder, however; due to my white washed as fuck interior, I got way too much. Regardless of the chili-​powder mistake, that shit was delicious. Every piece of fruit is perfectly ripe and full of flavor. It’s all so fresh… so fresh you feel like you’re in a cool, summer oasis, with lemurs bringing you fresh fruit.
SO…I was hooked. I’m not a big fan of all of the fruit so my next cup had some modifications. Also, my friend (the obsessed one) has a combination that is pretty much perfect: Mango, cantaloupe, watermelon, pineapple, and lots of lime juice. I loved getting that with a little bit of chili.
Jose Rodriguez really cares about what he’s putting out with his fruit stand. He is perfectly consistent and will cater to whatever combination you want. He is very precise and the fruit is the same quality and deliciousness every single day. He puts a lot of love into his craft, you can tell. Every fruit cup is just as good as the last. Best fruit vendor in L.A. hands down!
