Aw man. Looks like the store is in that hiatus mode again so it’s looking like the restaurant won’t be open again for a while.

I was excited to try this somewhat hole in the wall, just off the main strip of Little Osaka. We once walked by, and they were closed(as often they are), but the ramen burger looked so good we had to come back. Made our way on a weekday. One guy working there, but nobody around, so we figured a quick lunch would do. Ordered a ramen burger, bacon cheeseburger, fries, and onion rings. We were told seven minutes. Walked around and came back fifteen minutes later, and it wasn’t ready, but no big deal. Was a big deal was how very mediocre everything was, and at Little Osaka prices! Ramen burger was flavorless, and ramens were way too thick so that it was hard to taste the teeny-tiny 4oz patty. Salad on top also nothing to remark about. Bacon cheeseburger was fine; nothing good or bad to say. Well, it was rather small for the price. Fries were frozen, crinkle-cut, no flavor, no texture; a crime, really. And the onion rings… wait, where are they? He forgot to make the onion rings. So he made them in a haste while taking other orders, and they came out very burnt. Also frozen, out of a plastic bag. Look up and down the street. Find any place at all. Go eat there. You’ll be happier.

This place definitely has the best tacos. Who wouldn’t want a burger, lettuce, hot sauce, cheese, and onion on a corn tortilla! Also, their fries are amazing. I used to go every week, but I have to take a break from it. I recommend this place to anyone who likes burgers, tacos, salads, eggs, bacon, and every other food! Ketchy’s is my favorite taco place and always will be!

The teriyaki chicken Combo is to die for, it’s always delicious! It was all made to perfection from the rice to the veggies to the meat! And the bowl filled me up and was the perfect size. As far as my wait time to get it, I had called about 5 minutes before I went for a pick up incase there were a lot of people. As soon as I told her I was the one who called she gave me my order right there and that has never happened to me before. In other places I usually had to wait a couple of minutes even for a pick up. Their restaurant is very clean and comfy! They have just remodeled and I love the direction they are going. There prices are great, I would have to pay the same price for a cheeseburger at in n out but now I get a healthy meal for the same price. I will come back here everytime I crave teriyaki(often) Very Often

This is one of the best hidden gems in west LA. I thought that they closed but it looks like they were just renovating! So happy they are back! Ketchy’s is fast food that you do not feel guilty about, I would actually consider most menu items relatively healthy. My go to is their teriyaki chicken combo. It comes with perfect sticky rice and a salad of romaine lettuce and almond slices. The sauce is really what sells it for me though. I actually saw them making the teriyaki FROMSCRATCH in a giant wok in the kitchen. I wish the sold it by the bottle! Their curry sauce the bomb too They also finally started taking credit cards!

Owner was extremely nice and super down to earth! He was going into detail how the ramen burger is prepared and served! You can choose the patty that comes between the ramen noodles(salmon, meat patty, chicken, etc). I tried the regular burger patty, but next time I’m trying the salmon! It’s also a Very small place so I don’t recommend coming in large groups. Other than that, excellent food and excellent customer service ! I might just become a regular here !!! ;)

3.5 stars for quick and greasy! Ketchy’s II is located right next to my apartment so it’s quite convenient. The menu is pretty big, ranging from burgers, salads, teriyaki rice plates to even ramen burgers! What’s inconvenient is that they’re cash only… And on days when I don’t have any on me I have to go elsewhere. Tip– bring at least $ 10 in cash because most of the combos that include a drink cost around $ 8 – 9.50. Second tip– if you order the French fries, expect dark and crispy crinkle cut fries.

I came to Ketchy’s II on a nostalgic journey. I grew up with one of Lonnie’s son’s, Ralph. Ralph was a master on the guitar. His Chet Atkins sets were wondrous. Lonnie left a legacy in his other son as well. The food at Ketchy’s II was created with obvious pride. The menu is an eclectic mix with American burgers, hot dogs, and Mexican tacos and tamales. With a nod to their location in Little Osaka, they also have salmon teriyaki and other Japanese comfort food. I went with Lonnie’s Taco special and was pleased with my choice. Memories and comfort. What more do you need.

There is just something that I love about Ketchy tacos, the delicious combination of Mexican and American fast food that is just plain satisfying! The beef patty on a corn tortilla with lettuce tomato, cheese and really good hot sauce. Their fries are always crispy and delicious. This place hits the spot when you’re not in the mood for Japanese food, head to ketchy’s you won’t be sorry you did!

Not sure what people are loving about Ketchy’s 2. It is Junior High cafeteria food. I tried a couple of their tacos and they were primarily composed of wet, chopped, iceberg lettuce. Our burger was mushy. Fries were good. Onion rings were all batter. That said, if you’re looking for a greasy snack this could be what you’re looking for. It’s not the sort of place that people drive to dine at. I would gamble that customers here come out of convenience and are already in the area. Start taking credit cards, up the food quality just a little, have the cashier not also be the person cooking your food and this place could be nice. Great little patio on the side of Sawtelle too.

$ 8 for a small piece of teriyaki salmon on a medium bowl of rice? It felt like a semi rip off even considering that fish is typically more expensive. I would not have ordered this if they told me that was what I was getting. I usually go out to eat to get something that is well prepared and unique. The salmon was well cooked but this item was just so disappointing overall the way it was served and how much it costs. I was counting on Ketchy’s to be a worth mom-an-pop-hole-in-the-wall-cash-only joint to visit but this was not a great first experience. I may come to try their tacos but steer clear of the bowls!

I just discovered this place for pick up lunches for work. I got the Chinese chicken salad the first time and was happily surprised at how fresh everything was including the crunches on top! I asked the person at the window what they liked best and they said the ketchy’s tacos. I was dubious because in my imagination hamburgers wouldn’t make good tacos BUTTHEYDO! The hamburger is perfectly slightly crunchy on the edges and the tortillas are kind of like sopas(thicker and fried –I think) which makes for a great texture and yes MOUTHFEEL. I also love that it’s just a window and a tiny kitchen which makes it feel like street food. There is a little bit of seating outside. You do have to wait a little bit sometimes because it it’s so small but it’s totally worth it.

I’ve walked by here a gazillion times but never stopped in, so when I saw their sign out on the corner when I left the Y I decided to check it out. Ordered the chicken teriyaki combo and didn’t realize they were cash only, and the owner was soooo nice! Asked me if I lived in the area(I live a couple blocks away) and told me I could come back and pay later on in the day! The food was really pretty good — chicken teriyaki, brown rice, salad and a can of soda for less than $ 9. But I was sold the second he let me leave without paying. Classy and old school, if you ask me!

I’ve never been or seen Ketchy’s I so I can’t say if Ketchy’s II is a great sequel but standing alone it was pretty good. Ketchy’s doesn’t really fit in with the whole Sawtelle restaurant scene and I think thats why it’s location is tucked away in a corner towards the end of Sawtelle’s vaunted restaurant row. But I think thats why I like it. It’s a one-man operation working in the confines of a closet like space but that doesn’t stop him from serving the salt of the earth, blue-collar working types that just want a cheap yet tasty meal for lunch. Best of all, they were open on Monday which can’t be said for a handful of Sawtelle’s sushi restaurants. I had their Ramen Burger(angus beef — $ 8). The bun held up nicely though once you soak it with the teriyaki sauce they provide on the side, you’ll likely need a fork to get through the rest as it breaks down to a ramen/beef mix. It was good and better yet there was no absurd line to wait in. My only gripe is that I wish they would cook the beef more rare. If you want fast greasy spoon style comfort food that is cheap cheap cheap, then come support this guy. He’s the underdog trying to make it amongst the titans of Sawtelle. Tip: Cash only

+ Nice staff + Fast + Cheap + Variety — Well… 3 times out of 20 the chicken in my salad was stinky :-/The other 17 times it was good. The first stinky salad I thought was just a fluke. The second stinky salad I swore to never return. The third stinky salad? Well, that’s just me being stupid. It’s close to my office but I walk by every day now.

Ketchy’s is a hole in the wall fast food place that can fit no more than two customers within it’s ordering area at time. The menu is a combination of American, Mexican, and Japanese fast food, with plenty of options. I went with their Philly cheese steak combo, and upgraded my fries to include chili and cheese. The cheese steak was no where near authentic, but was good none the less. The fries were outstanding and stayed crispy even with the chili and cheese on top. It was just an awesome meal for a little over $ 8. I can’t wait to go back! A few things to note: –Cash only –No indoor seating. Some outside seating, with heaters. –Parking lot around back

Just finished eating my first meal here after seeing it for numerous years. CASHONLY so make sure you come prepared. Also, there is a parking lot that you can park in for free during the day. I think at night it becomes valet. What I had: Beef Tamale — Dry, almost chalky like. This was frozen or premade or something… The masa was chalky and flavorless and the meat left much to be desired. The meat was tender but it needed more flavor as well. I think it would have been good with the chili sauce but sans chili wasn’t worth ordering. OG Taco Take a hamburger patty, cut it in two and stick it in a tortilla. This was remarkably yummy. I can see why so many people say to come here and eat after you’ve been drinking. Fries Nice texture — TOOSALTY. I love me some flavorful fries but a few of my fries gave me a pucker face. Yea pucker… not poker. I enjoyed them but a little more restraint would be ideal. Bottled Water I add a comment for the bottled water because my water was totally warm. I got it from the fridge but it definitely didn’t feel like it. Over-all: I don’t think i’ll come back here anytime soon. With so many other burger joints or taco joints in LA this place is going to have a hard time joining the rotation. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not a bad place… it’s just not that good either.
