I always see Kinokuni mochi at Marukai and Nijiya. I am pretty sure other Japanese markets have this brand too. I was still hungry after my albacore bowl lunch so I picked up a package of Kinokuni mochi from Nijiya. 4 in a package for about $ 4. The mochi was too sweet and too soft for me. It was not bad but it wasn’t not as good and chewy as other mochi I consumed. 3 stars! Kinokuni is kinda yummylicious!

Need some fresh mochi for the new year? Here is the source! Yes I know, it looks ghetto. That’s why they keep their doors locked. You will see their product at most Japanese markets if you don’t want to come here. It’s right across the street from Union Bank. They’ve received an «A» grade from the health inspectors.
