I got the $ 15.99AYCE option, which included Fried Chicken, Bossam, Gamja Tang, and Pork Ribs. I ordered all four, and was too full to order a second round! Overall, the food was above par for the price. The pork ribs were juicy, the gamja tang was savory, and the bossam was very fresh. My only concern was the fatty fried chicken. When I got the 6 pieces of fried chicken(which was 1 order), about half of those were almost pure bone and fat. It led me to believe that the only way they could keep the prices low was to give less desirable cuts of chicken. The chicken won’t stop me from coming to Koginara. I’ll definitely give it another chance. Note: this place is not the best place for groups of 4 or more. The round table sits 3 – 4 comfortably.

Must try out their Korean bbq(especially pork belly)! Also they have a special Menu which includes chicken bossam jokbal gamjatang and galbi. My favorite is Galbi. It tastes like the one from Hamjibak but better. And the most attractive part of this restaurant is that everything is ayce.

This review is for their AYCE alternate items, not the BBQ. We got the bossam, chicken and jokbal and I have to say the quality of the food far exceeded my expectations. Not to mention, this is the only place in K-town to offer up this type of an AYCE option. Basically, all you can eat soju pairings. Everything was really tasty, and I will definitely be back.

Worst service ever! There wasn’t even that many people and the service were terrible. When we would ask them something they would just keep walking without acknowledging you. We would have to repeatedly call for them to help us with something. Never coming here again. I don’t know how they have 4 stars.

AYCE. Three diff. Options to choose from. If if u order higher level, there are unlimited entrees that u can get as well. The quality of the meat was pretty good for the price and rest of their sides as well

This place is AMAZING! My friends and I ordered the $ 15.99AYCE option which included fried chicken, grilled spicy pork ribs, steamed pork, pork feet, spicy pork rib soup, steamed eggs, some lettuce and such to wrap it altogether, and so much more. It was my first time at this restaurant, so my friends and I decided to order one of each item from the $ 15.99 option. When all of the items arrived, I couldn’t believe how quickly our table became filled with food, and best of all, this was the AYCE option. Personally, I always enjoy a good soup with my meal, so the spicy pork rib soup was a great addition to all the meat that was served. There were a few things that I noticed from this AYCEKBBQ restaurant that isn’t available at other restaurants of the same type. The first is that they serve you a dish filled with white radish and kimchi. This dish is used to cleanse your palette and alleviate the«heavy» feeling your body may experience from eating so much meat. This was a very pleasant surprise and I appreciated it very much. The second thing I’ve noticed that is different here is their selection of music. At many AYCE restaurants, it is a common practice to play fast-paced music to influence its customers to eat at a faster pace, all of which is unknown to many consumers. However, at this restaurant, the music was varied among tempos and I also enjoyed some of their song choices as well. I am definitely planning to recommend this newfound restaurant to my friends and family. I can’t wait to come here again.

THISPLACEISNOTAYCE! I’m not a huge fan of AYCE, because I’m foolish enough to over stuff myself when I go to one. But, I wanted to point it out since many reviews mention it. They changed their menu as of 1÷14÷2016 according to our server. They have combo menus and the portions are not small, but if you are expecting to eat unlimited KBBQ, Korean fried chicken, bossam, etc. this place should no longer interest you. We ordered a three item combo and tried Korean fried chicken, jok bal, and bossam. They were decent, but I didn’t love them. Actually, I thought their jok bal tasted like super market bought. I’d rather go to for jok bal and for bossam. For fried chicken, I’d go to Chicken Day on Western or Gang Jung. Koginara would’ have been unique if they still had AYCE Korean fried chicken, bossam, pork ribs and all, but now they are just another Korean BBQ restaurant. Service was not bad. Parking in the area was tricky so I ended up valet parking.

Tried out this new place, it is pretty good! Just opened, they offer all you can eat in 5 set menus just for $ 13.99(normal price is $ 16.99). We like the grilled pork ribs, it is bit spicy and very tasty. The pork feet is tendered, the steamed pork is good, just not enough taste. The sticky pork back bone stew is pretty spicy for me, but good. Last, came the fried chicken. It is worth the wait. Juicy and tender. I wish it could be more dark meat in it. I tried the grapefruit soju. It is ok and bit different but pricy for the amount of alcohol. Overall it is a good place to try!

Crazy… just crazy at the amount of food you get for the price! We all ordered the $ 16.99 all you can eat out of 5 menus: grilled pork ribs, spicy pork rib soup, streamed pork with spicy radish, fried chicken, and pork feet. There is the $ 13.99 option and you can pick ayce two items. Five of us went and we all agreed we liked everything except the feet. Favorites were steamed pork, grilled ribs, and chicken. Something different for the ayce themed restaurants was nice to try.

With full of respect for my korean people and for people who love Korean BBQ, please listen very carefully to what I say: please don’t waste your money and your time for this place. THEWORSTEXPERIENCEEVER. In order for me to clarify what I say, let me say in Korean:. I feel extremely bad for what I have to write here because it could affect their business but i would feel even worse if people who love k bbq experience same like what i did today. If you are not ready to serve customers, please just don’t open the restraurant. A simple solution. First, You as a server need to know what you have in the kitchen for your customers. You just don’t welcome people and make them to sit and they start to eat and all of sudden whatever we ask, you don’t have it? Even though you close your business tomorrow, you NEVER open your restaurant without food. Am I so difficult? We call it «common sense». Second, the side dishes were horrible and meats’ quality, hah. You tell me. I seriously don’t get why people run their business when they have NOPASSION about what they do. If you read my review, and you wanna still go try? Go for it. GOODLUCK

Came here with a group of 11. They put 3 tables together. Side dishes were decent. I went after the kimchi. The other side dishes were okay to munch on, but I didn’t necessarily want more. The lunchbox is pretty much fried rice in this metal container with spam and other things. It was good during my first two bites, but it was really overwhelming. Just not my kind of thing, I suppose? We mostly did the finger rib meat and brisket. Brisket was hit or miss. Sometimes it had fat on it, which gave it more flavor. Other times, it tasted like meat and was very bland. Slow service. I know we had a big group of 11, but the restaurant was essentially empty. As for parking, there is valet for $ 3. I got lucky with street parking. Would I come back here? Probably not. Lots of better options in the area for sure.

Another AYCE Korean BBQ reopened at the former Daepojip location as Koginara. This place is pretty big and it did get full when it used to be Daepojip. Walked in around 7PM on Thursday night and it was pretty empty. Asked the server why and he said they just opened this week. So the menu was missing many items including eel and no steamed egg. They ordered their new menu but hasnt arrived is what he said. For $ 24.99 you can get every one of their meat selections including their infamous Sochong Galbi which is just marinated short rib. That is my favorite from this restaurant. I love the flavor which isnt too sweet or strong, I think I’ll never get sick of them! It’s that good! Their ribeye steak was also in really great quality. It wasnt too thick and I liked it that way because I was hesitant to order or not because I get full after eating ribeye steaks from other KBBQ restaurants. They also have never-frozen galbi(unmarinated), which is 2 order max per table and one order was 4 good pieces. It also melted in my mouth. Another favorite was their scallops. Its also limited to 3 order max and it is lightly seasoned. They serve it with broccolli which was really good. We ended up asking more of broccoli alone. Haha We also wanted to drink some Makkoli(Rice Wine) but they didnt have any since they JUST opened. So we were thinking of what to drink but I really couldnt do soju even though they had a great deal on Soju for $ 6.99 which will go on for awhile as the server noted. Then the server gave us the grapefruit icing cocktail soju on the house. It was really good and it was a very large bottle but we ended up drinking it all. Though they did not have Eel that we initially visited this restaurant for, we were pretty satisfied with their great quality food and service. There was also one non-korean server since there were many non-korean customers, he was super nice and attentive too. Parking is VALET only around the corner or street parking if you can find one. I will come back again soon and hopefully then everything is running properly. Great food with great service. I highly recommend this KBBQ restaurant.

I’ve been to this location when it was DGM. My friend told me to try this spot so we decided to venture into K-town to get some good BBQ. This spot is on the corner — not very hard to miss. When we came in, we were greeted and promptly seated. It did take them a few minutes to take our order because the grill on the table next to us was pretty much on fire. Everything came out quickly and everything we asked for was brought out super fast. We ordered the Menu B $ 19.99 — the meat quality was pretty good. No real complaints other than the taste of the cold noodle. It seriously tasted like salt water and Japanese somen noodles. I would not suggest ordering the cold noodles. The Lunchbox however — ORDERIT. So simple but so good. The spicy soup was good too but had a heavy tomato taste. All the banchan were delicious — especially the seaweed one. I would definitely come back here again. Service was great on a Sunday night. You can find street parking but you might have to walk a few blocks. No biggie — walking after you eat a fatty meal never hurt anyone :)

Parking: horrible. There’s valet service for $ 2.50 next to the restaurant. Don’t park in the plaza across from koginara cause they will tell you you can park there and charge you $ 5. Décor: very very small. I walked into the restaurant and was surprised at how empty the place was. I saw maybe 8 small round tables. Definitely not a typical kbbq décor, and I have been to my fair share of kbbq places. Koginara reminds me of dining in China because of the intimacy and how the tables were displayed. I went with a group of 10 people and I had no room for anything. They put two small tables together and it was way too cramped. That lost one star for me. Service: service was great! Very attentive waitresses and I believe the boss lady even came out and served us herself. Food: we got the $ 12 option. Ehh. I guess for the price I can’t really complain. Brisket was the best and that was basically it. The $ 12 option does not include regular beef brisket. Sad. We also ordered the veggie dish and I was SUPER disappointed. They came out with a whole bunch of chopped onions and white mushrooms… I was really disappointed. This place is definitely not like other kbbq places. That lost one star for me. Not a great place for big groups. If I come back, I would want to try the more expensive options cause I’m sure their foods will be better.

Hm. guess I’ll be generous with the stars cause the wait staff is pretty damn attractive. My person and I decided to be fatties and ventured into ktown after 1.5 hours of traffic in hopes of releasing our inner carnivore. Upon entry at about 6PM on a weekend, I was anticipating a wait. After we valeted, the very kind hostess greeted us and explained to us the new menu as well as the business namechange. Apparently, the new menu is smaller, but we didn’t mind, as the meat quality was yummy and service was pretty damn impeccable. We decided on menu B, which was like $ 18.99? It included short ribs, rib finger meat, tongue, bulgogi, thinly sliced pork belly, pork belly, lunch box, intestines, other things I don’t recall. but it’s a good selection, view the menu for more detail haha sorry I enjoyed the tongue. Tender and full of transfatty goodness(yes, apparently if you Google tongue — it has transfat. For shame T__T) — Brisket: this was a bit on the fatty side, but the fat is what makes it juicy right? Cause this was very enjoyable. Damn. I know I just had korean bbq, but fuck, I want more meat. — Rib finger meat — nice marinade! You can eat this one without the rice paper. — Jewelry pork — the waitress called this thinly sliced pork belly. Now I love thinly sliced pork belly, so I was like HELLYEAH. However, when it came out, my stomach kinda dropped as most of it was fat(I know it’s pork belly, but still) 80% was fat and I would not order this again. Eating this was like eating the pork in spring rolls but with more fat and bbqed. Not recommended. If they sliced it thinner I guess? Bulgogi — yummy They had the usual banchans and were constantly being refilled without asking. Instead of having potato salad, they had macaroni salad which was good if you want your carbs in pasta form. The kimchi here is a bit more sour than what I prefer, so it wasn’t my cup of tea. The radish was good eaten in conjunction with the rice paper and the meat. The salad kept having to be replenished as we killed it, and I rarely eat lettuce. One thing to note: the lunch box. This was hot rice mixed with kimchi, a runny egg, I think bulgogi meat, and other things. and it’s unlimited. They put everything in one of those military style lunch boxes and SHAKE it so that everything is incorporated. I know the point of korean bbq is to eat until you hate yourself, but trust me — this dish was really good. If I could, I’d order more of it, but I needed room for meat! I really enjoyed the service, as we barely had to lift a finger, however sometimes they did forget something. Grills were constantly changed and the owner talked to us often. She trained her staff well. They came up to us a lot, which is nice, but I found that they kind of came up a bit TOO much. However, I’ve never encountered such great service at an Asian place before. Oh yeah, they use charcoal here. You are going to sweat, keep that in mind since it gets hot as fuh in there. They also provide barley water instead of regular. we never asked for regular but I’m sure they have that.
