I was really hoping to enjoy this restaurant after what I’ve read on Unilocal.I ordered the half fried and half marinated chicken, and it also came with some potatoes. They had mustard and hot sauce for dip. The side dishes were limited to only salad and radish. The salad was subpar. There were cucumbers, peppers, and cheese in it. It was drenched in watery dressing. It just wasn’t that good. With the chicken being boneless, I was ready to dig in. After a couple of pieces, I was really tired of the taste because it was so bland. I do, however, prefer the marinated chicken over the fried chicken. The potatoes that came on the side was just okay. It’s coated with some kind of sweet sauce and it just didn’t match well with the potatoes. It’s a sad(Korean) chicken restaurant when the radish is better than the chicken. I only give it an extra star because the waiter was kind and seemed to be working alone. Kyochon is a much better option. Side note: $ 2 valet parking is mandatory.

3.5 stars, but I’ll bump it to 4 as the chicken was fried really well. Bf and I lately got the craving for KFC(Korean Fried Chicken), and this popped up on my Unilocal newsfeed, so it must have been meant to be! Small joint located in the corner of a newer plaza with Ombu Grill and Feng Mao, it seemed still relatively new and unknown. There was one waitress working with the chef, and it seemed to be all that was needed – at least for now. We ordered: Original fried chicken: This was my favorite. Fried to perfection and not too salty – just right for munching. The potato fries were also absolutely amazing – soft, fresh, and absolutely melts in your mouth. The only note would be that it was also really bland(I don’t think they season their taters at all) and could’ve used more sauce then their dinky dish of chili on the side(though that may have been for the chicken as well). Chili half chicken: This was good too, and my bf noted that it wasn’t as flavorful as say, Kyochon, which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. Sticky and tasty, though my taste buds veered more towards the original. Good to note that it wasn’t fire in your mouth spicy, as our other dish definitely was. Sea snail with noodles: Holy bejeezus, unless you were born to eat spicy food, this might not be for you. I enjoyed the snails and the flavor, but I can’t say much for the heat. It was so spicy that my bf had a few bites and had a tummy ache for the whole next day(he’s sensitive though). I’ll admit, I had a bit of a tummy ache too, though I have a stomach of steel and can eat almost all Korean foods(apparently not this one). It’s also loaded with onions, more onions, and garlic so don’t bring a date… it’ll be on your breath for the rest of the night. We ended up taking this home so I could eat it in small increments. Order this at your own risk. Salad(complimentary): Why review the salad? Yes, it was unexciting with just ice berg lettuce, but I do like their fresh dressing! I’m not sure what they put in there, but there was a very zesty citrus note(yuzu perhaps?) that made me enjoy the dish very much! Overall, this is a nice joint that serves a little more than above average food with fresh ingredients. I think most people would say that they prefer kyochon though, as there are more selections and the chicken is about the same in terms of texture and being cooked well. I can’t say for sure as I haven’t been to kyochon yet, but we shall see!

Absolutely legit Korean chicken joint with a valid liquor license, awesome food and no fuss. I could go on about the food, but whatever. If you dig delicious chicken, beer and slightly more modern takes on Korean chicken, KPOP is a must. Anything else on Western can’t compare.

I actually came to this place after stopping by Atelier by Tiffany to get my eyebrows done. Didn’t expect much since it was a new joint but boy was I wrong! Chicken reminded me of the chickens in Korea. Paired perfectly with beer, I ordered the half and half. Wasn’t a big fan of the chili but the regular fried was really scrumptious. Chicken was very juicy and not dry. They give a separate sauce for the regular fried chicken so you can control the amount of sauce you want. I ordered delivery after my first initial visit and they still haven’t failed me yet! I think kpop and kyochon are my new favorite ckn spots. Kyochon for when i feen spicy, and kpop for«Chimek»(fried ckn w/beer).

Their Boneless Chili Chicken tasted AMAZING! Not too spicy and not too sweet, just right. You can request it to be spicier or sweeter. The regular fried chicken was made to perfection. Came out hot, just the way i like it!

We order half and half(fried/bbq) took one piece of chicken and left the restaurant. No good. They should study about the taste before they serving their food. Very disappointed.

The chicken here is so great! It tastes different from your local kyochon chicken! The chicken here is very savory and one of a kind. It recently opened in December! Not only is the menu chicken, there are many other dishes such as spicy cheese rice cake(ddukbokki), sea snail wih noodles! also as a side the white radish is very fresh and sweet. It’s a perfect match with the taste of their chicken, whether you order regular or chilli cheese. :) make sure to try it out! Although the it’s in a corner and not a great location, the food is outstanding. The staff is also very considerate and gets to your needs immediately!

I went here last night and ordered half of their fried chicken and half of their marinated chicken. The place was very clean and simple. I was hoping they would be more selection in terms of appetizers but it was fairly limited. Hopefully in the future they’ll add more items. The salad and pickled radish added a nice touch to the chicken. I especially loved their pickled radish! I thought it was the best I’ve had in K’town so far. Also, the potato wedges that came with the chicken were also great. However, I felt that the chicken was a little tough and dry. Since I live a block away I really really wanted to love this place. However, after trying both the deep fried and marinated chicken I felt like Chicken Day across the street tasted much better. I felt that the marinated chicken just wasn’t a big hit. The sauce wasn’t hot nor was it sweet. It was just bland… I really hope the owners come up with a better sauce.

Not bad for a chicken place but it doesn’t have it’s own flavor in my opinion? I will try it few more times and see wassup

Atmosphere: Mandatory valet $ 2. Clean, organized, and hip. Not hipster, but hip. K-POP Chicken is a great date spot and/or a place to just relax with some wings and beer. Service: There was only one worker at the time I went in and he seemed to be the owner/cook of the restaurant. The owner was very welcoming and promptly began making my food as soon as I ordered. The food took around 30 minutes to come out, but the wait was worth it. Food: Whoa. The food was AMAZING. The owner/cook emphasized that the chicken he cooks is never frozen and it shows when you bite down into one of the thighs. In the Korean food world, fried chicken is fried when your order it. It is not pre fried and then re-heated. It makes an absolutely huge difference if you’re trying to compare this to kfc or church’s. The chicken here was crispy on the outside and moist&tender on the inside. The side of white radish was not too sour(fermented) and showed off the freshness of K-POP Chicken’s kitchen. The radish is obviously made at the restaurant because the crunch of the radish is just too fresh to have been store bought. Complimenting the radish and the chicken there was also a salad and a side of fries. The salad was a nice component to help the palette of all the fried chicken and fries. The dressing on it is a creamy mayo/mustard dressing which isn’t too heavy and it added another great taste to the dish. Lastly, the fries. THEFRIES. THE. FRIES. The fries are freshly cut potatoes and just like the chicken… they’re fried when you order them! Unbelievable. Just too good.

Their fried chicken is out of this world. Their chicken meat is very tender and doesn’t taste dry. The meat is very chewy but not hard. When I first tried it, i thought it tastes a bit ordinary, but the after taste lingers in your mouth in a very nice way and grows in you. This chicken is not definitely OMG dynamite!!! but I felt really good and healthy during and after the meal!!! My thumb is up!!!

I got my hair done at Atelier and saw a new chicken place so decided to try it out. Right when you walk in, it smells like you’re in Korea. Trust me, if you’ve ever visited Korea and had those chicken and beer deliciousness, you know what smell I’m talking about. Instantly, I felt nostalgic and liked the place. We ordered blue moon beer pitcher and got recommended original chicken. The chicken was flavorful and fresh. The owner told us that he doesn’t use frozen chicken but he prides himself in using fresh ingredients. I could taste it. Fries were big and delicious and my favorite was the salad dressing. It tasted like the yogurt ones they serve in Korea. I will def be coming back!

I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a good chicken spot in K-Town. The fried and chili chicken were good(came with potato wedges and salad) which was a great combination. They also serve food other than chicken as well like noodles, soups, stir fried foods, and many more.

Pretty good chicken! I was wary since its a new place with hardly any reviews, but the quality is pretty good compared to other places. In my opinion, they use little to no breading on the chicken(but still crispy since its fried) so its not overly crunchy and greasy(like Kyochons honey wings…). I got the chili chicken and it was pretty good! I havent tasted this sauce anywhere else– definitely not your regular olé spicy bbq sauce. Its actually more savory than sweet which suited me just fine :) it comes with potato wedges, and theyre real potatoes!!! Yay!!! I hate those costco wedges that are like compressed potatoes… these are soft and delicious hehe :) Overall i would def come back to try their original chicken :) oh and the ajussi is sooo nice!!! Definitely made it a pleasant experience. :)

Ah, the Korean soap operas will always feature some sort of outside tent serving up ghetto drinking food or chicken and beer. This place fits that bill minus the ghetto and tent. We tried the Chili Chicken and it was DELICIOUS. I am not sure what kind of sauce they whipped up but it was smokey like bbq yet spicy. I think what really pushed up another notch was the super kind business owner, an ahjushi(uncle) with glasses. He was so nice as he told us in Korean(we have very limited proficiency) to enjoy our meal and the chicken will be delicious and it was. I was very charmed by a few moments of interaction with him. I will be definitely back!

Saw this new place the other day and had to check it out! I tried the Chili Half Chicken, and I really liked that my order came with a complimentary salad and bowl of pickled daikon. One note about the salad, though: the plate it came on was very unstable – it’s a very lightweight plastic, and with the curved-up corners, it often tried to tip over when eating the salad with a fork. I don’t know if this place has chopsticks available, but I was given a fork by the waitress at the start of my meal. The chicken was very fresh! So hot I had to let it cool before I was able to eat it. I found it difficult to eat, however, as the chili sauce was applied very liberally. Compared to Kyochon, K-Pop Chicken isn’t spicy at all, but there is a little kick there just the same. The chicken arrives in large pieces, and I have to say I find Kyochon’s easier to eat as well as crispier. K-Pop Chicken is a good value, so I might have to come back and try their regular fried chicken before I deliver a final verdict; as of now, though, Kyochon is still the reigning champion of my stomach.

Feening for some good chicken and noticed this place. Its a new joint and i must say it was a match made in heaven. I noticed the chicken tastes just like the one from Korea. The owner has a successful chain in Korea and brought the ingredients. After speaking to the chef, he told me they air freight some ingredients because they are not available here. They are running a $ 5.99 soju promotion which is awesome. Cant beat that. Dont know how long they are running the promotion for but definitely worth trying. If you want some original Korean fried chicken, this place blows all the chicken joints away. All fresh and organic as of now. I rate this above kyochon, kokio, kbbq in this order. Ill definitely come back soon with my friends for another tasting. Didnt get a chance to try some of the other dishes but the chicken is legit.
