One thing you must know, BLUECRABHANDROLL. And the Crispy rice with spicy tuna. It’s a revolving sushi joint that allows you to order from the kitchen as well. Much better than sushi stop in my opinion and they have a great selection of fish. My friends and I come here at least a once a month, if not more. If you do have big parties, I suggest making sure you guys get there early and be the first people on the list.

Run you fools! Run! Do not be tricked by the low prices and people waiting outside. This place is a trap waiting to crush your soul. You will go in expecting to get decent«sushi,» but will end up getting various cuts of slowly decaying sea creatures on balls of either dry or mushy rice. I would have left had it not been for my friends who kept on sealing their future bathroom dates with the revolving belt of doom. Do yourself a favor and find another place. Grab some amazing ramen just around the corner, get a teriyaki bowl down the street, just do something else!

The food here is amazing but I’m giving them three stars instead of four for serving blue fin tuna. End of story.

Arrive early when it opens to ensure a seat. This place is small, around 45 people max. It has the best selection of dishes /sushi. Creative and unusual plates and all one price $ 2.25! I love that! I wanted to try so many but got filled up with 6! My daughter had 9. Try the Special donut, you have to order it from the server. If we are near Little Tokyo, this is were we go for a quick sushi fix. The servers were all so sweet too. They all greeted us and said goodbye! The chefs also yelled out goodbye! Nice!

My first time here and I’ve got to say, «How could I have missed this place?!» Located on the main street in Little Tokyo and on the corner where I know I’ve passed a million or so times! Decent sushi at a fantastic price. The food literally revolves on a moving track(it’s covered) and you simply pick whatever you want to eat, when you’re ready. The service was good as well. Parking, well parking is what parking is in L.A. ~ use the garages and yes, you’ll pay for it.

Cheap, fast, and okay. The quality of sushi isn’t great but you get what you pay for. If you are craving rolls and want something quick this is the place to go. Nothing special besides the fact that there is a conveyor belt that rotates the plates of sushi. Parking is somewhat of a hassle due to the fact there is never any metered street parking. You can park across the street and park in the structure, but they will charge you a pretty penny.

I’ve been to many sushi bars and I’m rating this one based on the price. The price is fair for the amount of food you can get. If however, you are looking for quality sushi, do not come here. This is just Sushi Boy type sushi. The quick cut and dry kind, nothing fancy here! Servers were quick and friendly and the wait was not long at all!

Gave this place a second chance and was glad we did! This time around the food tastes so much better and service was great and more selection of sushi!!! We waited about 45 for table of 3 on a Friday night of New Years weekend. This place is better than gatten sushi and all plates are one priced! $ 2.25! We ended up eating about 20 plates between my sister and BF. This is our new to go spot for sushi now.

The sushi was okay at $ 2.25 a plate. The food itself was nothing too special but conveyer belts are always fun! It was so difficult to reject the really tasty looking plates that kept floating by. Kula also offered ramen and other dishes you can order. The restaurant itself was VERY small. My group of 5 had to wait around an hour during lunchtime to get seats. However, once we were in we were quickly fed and happy.

for $ 2 a plate, you get what you pay for. bad sushi that is. I had 8 different plates. 6 were just ok(grocery store quality) and 2 were oh god no! 2 stars for friendly staff

For $ 2.25 a plate you get exactly what you are paying for. The sushi was reasonably fresh. There’s such a diversity and variety of plates that came by with some very unique options like«conch sushi» yup! They even have cheesecake, popcorn shrimp, soup and a lot of other options on the table. There were barely any sashimi or nigiri options everything had a little bit of rice with it. Recommend the toro Overall super cute and cozy place Not your A grade cuts but pretty darn good for what your paying for. Love this idea of a revolving sushi track

$ 2.25/Plate I’m not always the biggest fan of revolving sushi because I hate knowing that my fresh fish has been spinning around on a conveyer belt for lord knows how long. But when it’s busy I don’t mind so much because I know the chefs are constantly making new plates. This is a small little shop with not too many seats. Me and my boyfriend waited about 30 – 45 minutes at 3pm on a Saturday before being seated. Tip: write your name down first and then walk around the shops of little Tokyo checking back periodically because if you aren’t there when they call you, they will skip you. Also if you are done walking, there are a few seats inside that you can sit and wait that few people notice. The fish was pretty fresh, rolls were good sized and filling, and there was a large variety that came around on the belt. You also have the option of just ordering off the menu if you don’t see something out there or just want it fresh and faster. My favorites were the hand rolls and the garlic salmon nigiri!

I love this place because they totally get the point of a sushi go round. Its not trendy with flashing lights, flare, and other fanciness/flashiness. It is a plain spot with a variety of sushi rotating around the restaurant for you to enjoy your fill. There is the simple(egg, samon, tuna, scallops, etc) and the more creative(various rolls) for you to take your pick from. If you opt for creative, it is still $ 2.25 per plate with 3 pieces, which allows you to try a lot more of what they have to offer without breaking the bank and/or getting stuffed in the process. They even get slightly creative with their basic offerings adding things like ponzu & garlic, umami oil, and soy sauce & sake to salmon, and tuna for a change in taste. I must say that it is GOOD! There are also a few hot offerings like ramen, soba, and fried fish, which are good for the kids. We came on Thanksgiving day for lunch right when they opened(because Thanksgiving dinner with a black family does NOT start at 2pm as advertised) and did not have a wait. It did fill up soon after us however. The final tally was 21 plates plus a bowl of soba, which came to around $ 50. The staff here is also great. Very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place if you want good sushi and variety at a great price without all of the theatrics and white tablecloths. I am a huge fan!

This is my first time having sushi where you pick and choose from the revolving belt and I would have to say I wasn’t a big fan of it. My friend and I came pretty early in the day, maybe about 11:30AM, so you would assume that the sushi is somewhat fresh since they open up at 11AM. The first thing I noticed is that the sushi pieces were pretty small in size compared to a lot of other places I’ve been to. After choosing a plate off the revolving sushi belt, I was completely turned off by the texture and taste of the roll. It was definitely rubbery and difficult for me to chew. I’m not saying this place doesn’t have quality food because everything we ordered from the menu turned out to be fantastic. I enjoyed the salmon collar and the handrolls, it was just the plates on the revolving sushi that had Every plate is the same price unless stated otherwise in them menu, but $ 2.25 a plate. Service was decent. Waitresses weren’t really on their feet about getting our orders or refilling our waters. Overall this place wasn’t my favorite and I’m pretty sure I won’t come here unless if it were with friends or if reviews start showing some improvement in quality. Personally not worth my time and money eating mediocre sushi and would rather spend it elsewhere.

Yes! Never thought you could ever do sushi at this price! Quick tip: you gotta get there 20minutes before they close or they don’t let you in… You want to try and get there an hr before they close or they’ll start limiting the options on the belt Other than that, sit back, relax and enjoy the food getting shipped to you :)

I give the food 3 stars; the experience 4 stars. This is defnitely an experience. I came here thinking I’m going to tell the waiter what I want and the food on the conveier belt was merely decoration. Boy was I wrong. The food on going around the restaurant is food you grab as your eyes buldge out of your eye sockets and your taste buds salivate. This can be a dangerous thing because when food is right in front of you for the taking you will get a little bit food happy. I kind of did. Everything revolging around you is $ 2.25 per plate which isn’t a bad deal. They also offer food from the menu which is not $ 2.25 per plate. I tried the Soft Shell Crab and the Salmon from the menu. Both were good and different. From the conveier belt I tried the popcorn shrimp which is shrimp with tempura and spicy sauce, golden crunchy roll, spicy tuna crunchy, and crispy rice with spicy tuna. Food was good, but they didn’t have a dynamite roll(which is my favorite in any sushi spot.) But service was great and food was great for what you pay for. It can take a while to sit because the place is small so be patient.

+ Revolving sushi! + Fast/friendly service — Limited seating — Long wait times during lunch and other busy times This place is a few blocks walk from my office and it is a great place for lunch(or pre-happy hour outings). It isn’t the best sushi of course, but it is still tasty and quick. Prices are about $ 2.25 for each plate which is reasonable for the area. Service is very quick and all the staff are friendly. If you need anything that you can’t seem to find on the conveyor belt, you can always ask the staff and they will bring it to you. The seating is limited and some are 3 feet from the bathroom. Wait times can also be very long during lunch times and other busy times so be prepared to wait. If you have a party of more than 4, you probably won’t be able to sit together.

A great novelty as a «revolving sushi bar» the actual sushi comparable to Sushi Stop. Therefore this won’t be above average quality, but at the price point per plate its expected. The servers give you water and that is really your only interaction. You have questions about what is in the sushi well you’ll not have enough time to ask a server as the speed picks up! The cards that say the sushi’s name should describe what is in the sushi. If you have health concerns or allergies this isn’t the place for you! Overall if your a tourist check it out, if your a local who wants quality food not experience your in Little Tokyo keep moving on!

No line. I know!!! How did that happen? At Kula? In The Japanese Village Center? In Little Tokyo? In the middle of the week? At lunchtime!!! Didnt have much time but i was really craving Japanese and that ‘s why I went to Kula. With the food floating by you, you don’t have to wait for the server to give you the menu, take time to make your selection, wait for the server to get your order, wait for the kitchen to prep your food, and wait for the server to bring it to you. Stuffed myself silly quickly and easily. And for a reasonable price!

Despite its price increased to $ 2.25 per plate, Kula offers a relaxing, burden free(from breaking your wallet) environment to enjoy rotating sushi train. It’s no wonder that there is always a long line whether you come on weekdays or weekends. Psychologically, I find having different prices depending on different color plates to be very stressful. Is this a $ 5 per plate or $ 2? Red or green? Having just one standard price for all the dish just make it so much easier. I know exactly what I’m getting every time. Options: anything seared(i.e., Seared Scallop Japanese Mayo, Seared Beef with Yakiniku Sauce, Seared Salmon Japanese Mayo) anything salmon(i.e., Soy Sake Marinated Salmon, Garlic Ponzu Salmon, UMAMIOIL Salmon, Salmon Belly, or even just regular salmon). Don’t forget the handrolls — you’ll have to order them directly from the waiters. I really like the spicy salmon and the spicy tuna hand rolls. Yes, Kula will not win any Michelin stars. Yes, Kula is no Sushi Gen. However, I find its quality to be much more consistent than Gatten Sushi or most other sushi train bars. I’ve been to the Kula location on Sawtelle Blvd, Torrance, Irvine, and here in Little Tokyo. And Kula always offer sushi there are fresh enough because of the high customer volume. Just an advice: please, please don’t order or pick up anything of the desserts. I see these mochi and watermelon plates that keeps circling around for hours UNTOUCHED. You’re in Little Tokyo — you have tons of dessert options at your disposal. Mitsuru Café with its $ 1.50 Imagawayaki(red bean cake) and Mikawaya’s mochi are literally steps away, not to mention the variety of latte, boba, tea, and frozen yogurt choices in the surround shops(Café Dulce, Ozero, Yogurtland, etc). Get your dessert later! The udon and ramen orders are hideous and a disgrace to Japanese cuisine here at Kula. I write this so that you know to NEVEREVER be even tempted to order those things here when you have options all within walking distance(i.e., Shin-Sem-Gumi, Men-Oh, Daikokuya, Marugame Monzo, Hana Ichimonme, and Tsurumaru Udon Honpo). Unilocal these other restaurants if you are craving for ramen or udon BUT do NOT order them here at Kula. You are wasting your money. Kula is my McDonald’s. I knows it’s not high quality food. I know everyone makes fun of it for being so average and commonplace. Yet, the lines don’t lie. People love coming here and the franchise just keeps on adding new locations. I’m lovin’ it!
