After a good workout, I decided to get something to snack on because I felt like I deserved it. Since I have been living in the area of Highland Park, I’ve been going to places like La Estrella and street vendor tacos around Figueroa. I was hooked on the reel when this little gem had a sign saying 75 cent tacos. I decided to give it a try. At the actual truck, they have the option of quesadillas, burritos and tacos. I was a little bummed that the burritos and quesadillas are $ 5, but nonetheless, that’s how much most burritos cost around the area. They had a good variety of meats, but based on my diet, I chose chicken tacos. Their truck had big windows so I was able to see my tacos being made. Get this. Their taco tortillas are MADEONSITE. These are not store bought tortillas or «ready-to-go». These were made as you ordered. And it still cost 75 cents! I was pretty impressed and the moment of truth came when I received my order. Oh. My. Goodness. These tacos are probably the best I’ve ever eaten in Highland Park and for the price? It was well worth it. The chicken was cooked with the right amount of spices and some people may not find the portion«big enough», but it is well enough for anyone. Condiments are provided outside the truck, but only the essentials(salsas, onions and cilantro, fajita mix, and a whole lime). Referring the the limes, they’re not cut up and you have to cut them yourself. The only reason why it’s 4 stars is because the condiments looked like it’s been out for awhile and outdated. I still got some, but only because I was really hungry and so far, nothing bad. The majority of my rating comes from my satisfaction after leaving. I almost forgot to mention! The employees are really nice and you should have no problem with them! Overall, worth the visit! I’ll be coming back for quite awhile.

Stopped by here for tacos and mulitas on a crisp Sunday afternoon and it didn’t disappoint. After placing an order for a carne asada mulita and a variety of tacos, I noticed something rare — they make the corn tortillas fresh to order! The deft handling of shaping the masa and then using the press really help to make the tacos that much better. I had a variety of 4 different tacos, lengua, asada, chorizo, pastor, for $ 5 and their awesome red sauce still has that great kick and fantastic slow burn. The tacos are fairly enormous and 4 is more than enough for a solid meal by anyone’s standards. The chorizo has a great marinade, texture and doesn’t suffer by being too oily or greasy. The lengua and pastor were also done to standard but the one mark against this business would be the asada; it was perfectly well made but seemed mediocre in regards to the quality of their other dishes. All in all, this remains a fantastic place that should have more people coming here, I know I will.

We were lucky to find this food truck only because the one we were looking for wasnt around. Unfortunately for them, after tonight I doubt ill be visiting any other truck any time soon. Paola and Gerrardo own the truck and told us they had only been open 5 days, though they’re not lacking experience. Gerrardo is a 20 year chef and the food definitely reflects it. I was blown away by their salsas(PLEASE try the red), quality meats, and their genuine friendliness. I highly recommend this truck to anyone who wants amazing Mexican Though the business is new, if the deliciousness of their food is any indication they will be hugely successful. Cheers!
