Ive been here a couple of time and the food is always great. They have almost always live banda. Especially on the weekends. The waiters can sometimes be a bit rude and the place is small.

This restaurant is under new management and the new name is Mariscos Sabor Latinos so I don’t know if this review will carry over but I have been curious about this place for years and finally stopped in a few nights ago. I am glad I did! The new manager is very nice, said they have new cooks, and the service was very friendly. Ambience is unique and festive — big murals painted on the walls. Each table is a square tile cabana with real plants mixed in with fake palm trees and strand lights. The waitress was very friendly even though my Spanish is poor and her English about as good as my Spanish. It definitely caters to the Latino neighborhood surrounding it. The music was a selection of YouTube videos from a popular good looking Latino singer whose name escapes me. I had the majado burrito(wet) and it was huge and fresh and delicious. The vino tinto was a sweet sangria so don’t expect a wine list but beer was only $ 4. I will definitely return and try some of the seafood. I am happy to find a decent place in my ‘hood with a good vibe and good food.

I’ve lived in this part of LA for about 20years now. And I’ve never ate here before, even though it is right around the corner. Until today that is, And OMG! I ordered the tostada mixta and shrimp tostada and they were bomb! The flavored were really so delicious and flavorful. I also ordered agua chile and that sealed the deal for me. This is my new mariscos spot from now on!

This place is what a Hole in the wall would call a Hole in the wall. Looks very much in disrepair, but I can overlook that if the food is good. The food here was not, I am not one who does not believe in having a bad day so last week when I ordered the Huachinango and I came to find that it was still frozen inside. I kept my cool and gave it another try today had a tostada de ceviche and a tostada mixta. both bland and a seafood restaurant with imitation crab just ruins a dish for me. Maybe I missed this places heyday since I see a lot of posts from 2011 rave about the place.

I always have the ceviche tostada everytime i go. the flavor and texture is just so mouth watering good. I’m a fan of seafood and shrimp is my weakness, I definetely have to go about once a week to satisfy my cravings. It’s cheap and tasty what more could you ask for.

Had the tostada mixta and a ceviche de camaron tostada the mixta was not good it was just plain imitation crab with like 3 shrimp on top. No seasoning no lemony goodness nothing! The cecviche de caramon was ehhh… wouldn’t go back. As far as parking goes, yeah they have a parking lot but every car there was parked all screwed taking 2 parking it was difficult to find parking :/

La Doña Mariscos has fresh sea food. Once you are inside and you have your first bite of Camarones Aguachile, You soon realize its a bite of heaven. For those that prefer the non-spicy version try Camarones ahogados its just as delicious. Never been there in the night nor in the weekend, always for lunch during the week or dinner during a weekday or take out. Never seems to dissapoint, its less expensive than other sea food spots and the food is up to par. And they now take debit/credit cards thats a plus! The service is friendly and prompt. The mojarra frita plate is really big and good. My girlfriends and I have been coming to this spot for years now, and we seem to order the same thing all the time the shrimp. I am hooked!

Did a drive-by after being tempted by the ‘diamond in the rough’ reviews. It was closed down by the health department for vermin infestation, not sure for how long. I’m kinda bummed but at the same time my faith in city food inspectors has been reborn.

The food was good and inexpensive, the staff friendly as well. The places is not in good shape, really oddly designed and the bathroom was in shambles.

Exceptions were high but not too high. After all, a seafood restaurant that advertises ‘Sinaloa” out front, says something to an individual who has previously frequent a seafood locale or two while in Culiacán, Mazatlán and Ahome. In any event… The place is somewhat of a ‘hole in the wall’ situated within a small shopping mall complex; which are the norm for the area. However, don’t let appearances fool you, the location is actually very well-maintained(so get that Bridesmaids ‘scene’ out of your head). Plates range from $ 6-$ 10. I ordered myself: camarones empanizados y arroz blanco(breaded shrimp & white rice for all my non-Spanish speaking readers) which I much say was a pretty damn good. Our party ordered a bucket of beers(6 x $ 24), which varies from the following selections: Corona, Bud Light, Budweiser & Coors(Meh). Seating arrangements vary(as one reviewer noted — «Tile everywhere») so be prepared to adjust from time to time. The staff were very attentive, despite the fact that it was relatively pack(it was a Sunday Afternoon). I’m on the fence with this locale, I’m siding with 3.5 stars here. I will have to give it a second run the next time I’m nearby. Overall, surprisingly good chow and a hospitable staff that will have me coming back for a second helping.

CHEAPANDGOOD! I had to meet someone here recently. I was buying something off of Craigslist and since their family owns this place, we met here. Well the guy was late so I decided to try some Mariscos. First of all, let me say that used to live in Mexico, so I KNOW good Mariscos. La Dona has THEBEST Mariscos I’ve had in Los Angles. FRESHDELICIOUS seafood and fish. Friendly service. Since I was late morning, it was empty but this place gets packed at night, especially on the weekends. They have a stage with live Mexican music and this place totally reminds me of a local neighborhood spot you’d find IN Mexico. I am so excited to have found La Dona Mariscos and I will definitely be back soon, probably on a weekend night. PS-the previous poster is paranoid. This place is downtown. Not the safest, but they have a parking lot RIGHT in front of the restaurant. I am a woman, and I didn’t feel unsafe. *PLEASESEEPHOTOS*

This place has VERY, VERYBADSERVICE! The Cashier DOESNOT know how to count and over charged us! The waitress was RUDE and had an ATTITUDE when asked to do her job; she even Rolled her eyes at us. This place is DISGUSTING! I SHOULD call the Health Dept. When we were paying, the cook was licking his fingers when preparing an order to go. I would NEVER return to his HELLHOLE!

The food is good :) If you like Mexican eafood, you will like it there. The ceviche, cocteles & empanas de camaron yuuum :) What makes me sad is that people are to freakin EASY to stereotype, and no wait the sad part is that is your own raza. They sure do forget about the big nopal they have on their forehead. WIth that said, and adding to the comment below me… NO you will not get shot & it’s NOT a dangerous neighborhood. How do I know? Because I’ve live a block away and have been doing so for 20+ years :)
