You must try tacos al pastor(marinated pork) we drove from San Pedro CA to this place just because the reviews were good, excellent customer service the guacamole was also really good.

I hesitate to give this 5 stars cause I don;‘t want there to be long lines and have it full of obnoxious people who think it’s ‘cute’ to come to some random restaurants in ‘scary DTLA’. But I have to give it 5 stars. The tacos are amazing and super cheap. The atmosphere is pretty strange and random, but not like anything else in L.A. which is good. One of my favorite places to stop for food on my nighttime bike rides through downtown. If you like well cooked meat and aren’t going to slow the line up by taking tons of selfies and not knowing how to order, then come check it out and have a seat right underneath the Huge Swordfish inside.

Chef Ludo Lefebvre considers this place LA’s «best kept secret.» NOTE: You must come around 5 — 6 pm to eat at this cart located inside La Reyna Restaurant open until around midnight. This street cart is different from this restaurant which apparently has mediocre Mexican food during the day. I read about Chef Ludo’s under-the-radar spot for tacos, burritos and quesadillas online recently. I was in Downtown LA and planned to visit this spot after the Soulection Festival since this place was open until midnight. We came by around 11 pm and found street parking across the street near Pizzanista. I noticed that there wasn’t a cart outside, but now moved inside the restaurant. The restaurant isn’t open, but the street cart is the only reason the restaurant is open. You’ll see two men and the older woman. I spoke to the man and he said that their specialty is the al pastor and mulitas. Truly one of the best mulitas I’ve had. One of my recent discoveries starting at Tacos el Galvian. The carnitas was pretty fantastic as well. The meat was flavorful and cooked to a crisp. After you pay the Mexican woman, you can take your food over to the other side in the dining room where you can choose to sit at the bar or at one of the tables. This is the kind of place that would impress me on a date rather than a fine dining restaurant.

I am voting this Best Atmosphere of Any Restaurant in Los Angeles Bar None. Oh yeah, and the food is great too. And reasonably priced. Go.

I was walking around area looking for good before a meeting and I saw a sign outside that said $ 5 burritos. SOLD! I walked in to this dark little sauna that had a thing of pastor on the side, a little flat grill and a cute little old lady bagging up some stuff. If you turn to your right, they have a way bigger room for you to eat in, but you can never tell from walking in. Anyway, I got a pastor burritto and they make it right in front of you, Chipotle style. It came with rice, meat, onions, cilantro and 2 different types if sauces wrapped in a grilled tortilla. It had really great flavor with the perfect hint of spice and the meat was really tender. I almost ate the whole thing but fell short of a couple bites. Couldn’t do it!

Best Mexican restaurant in all of LA, and I’m from Mexico I don’t say that very often! Haha definitely delicious and cheap.

At first glance, you might be intimidated — I was too. A dimly lit diner on a rather dimly lit street. But rest assured, La Reyna is 100% safe, from their food, to their restaurant, to their people! And their food is SOBOMB They have some of the BEST Al Pastor and Cabeza tacos I’ve ever had in DTLA. Also, I love that it’s a completely honor system based. You first order and eat your tacos, and before you leave, you just tell the cashier(the sweetest grandma you’ll ever meet) how many tacos you ate. It’s in the Art District and there is always plenty of free street parking. I love La Reyna and I make sure to make a trip out anytime I crave Mexican food.

I been coming here for about 4 months now and counting. I always order there«Alpastor» tacos! The meat is perfectly cooked and the flavored are as I would imagine. I rate it a 5 star because the flavor is all there and the staff is friendly. I don’t mind that this place looks like a hole in the wall. All I care is that the food taste amazing!

La Reyna served average tacos. Street/food cart style served in what appears to be an abandoned restaurant. Not the best, not the worst, definitely not a destination restaurant. Good for a quick bite if you’re in the area though. Street parking. Cash only.

I’m of the mind that a good place to eat doesn’t have to have an extreme menu. This place is simple and is my favorite taco shop in the arts district of LA.

Went here for a burrito and the meat was OLD&VERYHARD. I had to throw it away after they OVERCHARGED me. The menu priced the burrito at $ 3.19, she charged me $ 4.50! Last but not least, it made me SICK! that was my first &LAST time there!

I asked if her pineapple agua fresca lots of pineapple in it she said yes but it turns out my $ 1.50 agua fresca is pineapple juice doesn’t have one pulp or chunk of pineapple. Disappointment. BUT the tacos were really good! No handmade tortillas, but the meat I got lengua, cabeza, Asada(not as good as the first two) was good. Tacos were $ 1.25 from the restaurant, it was 5pm but no cart in sight yet. Unilocal rumors tell me that if I buy from the cart at night they’re only $ 1. The restaurant is broke down lol like i walked in the open door and thought it was an abandoned place for the first two seconds. Good prices though and the entrée food looked legit. Really nice lady working(she spoke good English), and an older abuela type lady helping out with all the salsas and condiments(no English).

This is a block away from the Greyhound station-which is perfect if you’ve got some time between transfers, and it’s fantastic, fantastic food! The al pastor tacos are all I’ve had and I’m totally sold. They are cheap and super delicious, set up exactly like the taco stands across the border.

I mean wtf??? How can these tacos be so insanely freaking DELICIOUS! Buddy of mine hiiiiiighly recommended them, ‘man, the meat, al pastor on the spit!’ this & that. So I had to try. Clean cooking spot, smelled delicious. Asked for 4. Asada — juicy well seasoned meat, no pieces of fat on it, tortilla hot n clean not dripping with oil like some places, add your onion/cilantro and the rest of ingredients, happy happy joy joy!

Cheap, greasy, delicious and pure tasty! We came here around 10pm and had a hard time finding parking. With high expectations, I was willing to be very patient and see the end results to this place. As we drove past the restaurant, all I saw was a cart with smoke rising up in the air. What I finally experienced when we got here was the following: A big slab of pork standing on the side of the cart grill. The guy would take small slices of this pork and chop it until it’s done. He’d ask if you want a burrito or quesadilla. I wanted both but opted for a quesadilla this time. After warming up the tortilla’s on the grill, he’d assemble it with a generous amount of el pastor and veggies. It’s street food. Everything is served on a thin paper plate. You serve yourself all the necessary condiments. Don’t expect fancy. You grab and you go. I was surprised that you can actually go into the restaurant where there are plenty of booth seating. Very old school. Nothing has been updated. We were the only ones eating inside. Everyone else eats it elsewhere. One bite and you’ll be in love with La Reyna. Great place to go for something quick and cheap. Not the healthiest but since when was El pastor considered a health food? Fabulous!

THEBESTTACOSINTHEWORLD!!! Or so my boyfriend claims. I don’t know about the world but these tacos really are pretty damn good. My boyfriend discovered them on his way to Sac. he stopped by LA for some gas and drove around looking for food. It was late at night and he thought to himself… Mexicans selling tacos at a taco stand. can’t go wrong! Since then he’s been bragging about them so I had to try them for myself when we decided to go to Sac the other week! ALLTHETACOSARE A DOLLAR!!! What do you want? Do you want carne asade? $ 1. Do you want chorizo? $ 1. Do you want adobada?! $ 1!!! And you can pack on all the onions, cilantro, and sauce you want! Their sauces are pretty bomb, too! After finishing my tacos, I had to order more because it was so good. I decided to get a quesadilla and the boyfriend chose the meat, he got chorizo because it’s his fave there. $ 4 for a chorizo quesadilla, $ 4 for the best quesadilla I’ve ever had! I’m surprised there are only a few reviews for this place, I thought I hit the jackpot! If you haven’t had it yet, you’re missing out, buddy. I’m making this a mandatory stop every time I’m on 5 passing by Seventh St. exit!
