Well I was wondering if this was still around, haven’t seen it in a long time. This was from 2011: Just had the Baco Taco for the second time and liked as much aa ny first time! The sourcream-horseradish mix(it’s addicting) is a great accompianment for the potatoe cheese mixture. $ 5 The street taco was very tasty(a new favorite)

I love food trucks, and I love bacon — the glorious step-child? Lardon. At a not-so-recent food truck event from Thrillist, the first order of business was to make a beeline for Lardon, the bacon truck. I couldn’t hang on to the Baco(a taco made with a bacon shell) long enough to photograph it; despite its cheddar cheese inclusions, I devoured it in one quick bite. We talked with Jeremiah, the owner, for a while, who listed the other menu items available: a bacon brownie and bacon pancakes, as well as a frisée lardon sandwich. We told him we’d be back, and moved on to Komodo for their asian-marinated chicken tacos with mandarin orange slices(this also didn’t last long enough for the obligatory photograph — too delicious). After some underwhelming offerings from lesser trucks, it was back to Lardon for dessert. I got stopped six or seven times on the way back to the table by people wanting to know what I was holding, and where they could get their own. The bacon pancakes were awesome — I mean, why alternate between bites of bacon and bites of pancake when you can have both in the same mouthful? And the bacon brownie was just off the chain. Rich chocolate brownie, almost fudgelike in texture, with Nutella spread atop, and bacon liberally applied on that, with a hint of sea salt as well. Take that, Animal.

I LOVE bacon, so naturally I jumped at the opportunity to check this truck out. I didn’t know I could by disappointed by a food item containing bacon before. I had to try this Baco Tacobecause it said«MUSTTRY» right next to Baco Taco in the menu. The center consisted of potato with sour cream and wrapped in layers of bacon. It sounds like it would’ve rocked your world, but the potato center was very bland and didn’t offer much to the item. It pretty much tasted like a bunch of salty bacon with sour cream. Maybe I’ll come back and try something else. Maybe better luck next time.

I only had a chance to try«the baco»($ 4) which are strips of bacon surrounding a patty of mashed potatoes and cheddar cheese. The bacon is thicker than your grocery-bought bacon and with less the fat. Delicious! It makes for a nice(and very unhealthy) snack. They were out of bacon brownies, otherwise I’d have tried one of those.

What can I say? I was vegetarian and vegan for many years and I would be up late at night with night terrors over never eating bacon again. A bacon cart? A cart dedicated to bacon? Holy hell. My friend works for Lardon so we got a lot of love as our street tacos and bacon burger was shoved through the window. Every bacon-y bite was delicious and well prepared. It was hot out there in LA land as we sat on the steps of a medical building and annoyed patients stepped over our flouncy dresses. As the bacon grease dripped out of my taco and into my cleavage I thought, «this is the mother fucking life». Thanks Lardon!

Lardon, I LOVE the design of your food truck. Honest. It’s got this great font that screams man power in a subtle but oh so cool way. Please, design my logo for me? Your menu is pretty nifty… all bacon — pork or turkey. Of course, I could order all items w/o bacon but where’s the fun in that? Your must try(asterisked, highlighted and underlined) is apparently the Baco Taco. A bacon lovers DREAM. Why use a taco shell when you can use perfectly good bacon instead? And then stuff it with cheese and potatoes. Sounds perfectly fun until you try it. Thick slabs of bacon stuck together mixed with even more savory and mushy potatoes makes for not so fun idea. The bacon brownie seemed cool too — but honestly, when we got it, it was way too dense. While bacon on everything sounds like a great idea, it’s only when you try it that you realize the wisdom of moderation.

Why did the pig go to the casino? To play the slop machine! What do you call a pig with three eyes? A piiig! How do you take a pig to hospital? By hambulance! How does a pig write home? With a pig pen! OK, enough of the corny piggy jokes! My dear friend and fellow Unilocaler, Ciara G, knows quite a bit about good food. But if there’s one type of food she knows the most about, has to be pork. In fact, Ciara’s headline at one time was«your porktastic partner in swine». Hell, she even has a pig tattooed on her hoof, I mean foot. A while back Ciara told me about a food truck dedicated to all things bacon. That trucks name is Lardon, and I have been dying to chase it down and sample it’s sweet and salty treats ever since. Fast forward to Tuesday, March 15th, at the Fig Produce Food Truck meet up, the day I finally caught up with the delicious Lardon truck! This is what my wife and I ordered: The Baco– A taco shell made out of bacon, stuffed full of mashed potatoes and cheddar and a horseradish bacon sour cream Brioche French toast sandwich filled with bacon and bacon bourbon maple syrup B&B Pancake– Banana and bacon stuffed pancakes with bacon bourbon maple syrup Chocolate brownie topped with nutella and bacon Talk about a bacon overload! Man, all these bacon treats were freaking fantastic. Ciara pretty much said it best in her review when she said«Two words pretty much sum up this truck. EPICGENIUS.» Seriously though, the bacon at this truck is so crispy and tasty. The Baco was wonderful. I wish I would have ordered two of these because one is not enough. The FT Sammie was incredibly sweet and fluffy and packed full of bacon, as were the pancakes. The bacon bourbon maple syrup is really what made both of these dishes though. And last but not least we had to have their famous bacon nutella brownie. The salty and sweet ratio on this treat was perfect. Every bite contained lots of salty, crispy bacon and sweet, decadent nutella. We ended up eating this treat at home because we wanted to have an ice cold glass of milk with it and man oh man, was it lovely. The folks who run this truck are super friendly. While I was waiting for my food I chatted with them about all things bacon related. The prices aren’t bad either. If you’re a bacon lover and happen to come across Lardon then I highly recommend you stop your car and pick up some delicious bacon treats. If you don’t believe me just ask Ciara G how awesome this truck is. She’ll drop some porktastic knowledge on ya!

#29 yummy… hit up Lardon at the Rose Bowl today. One of about 7 trucks, hubby and I hit the jackpot for food truck finds. I have been dying to try Lardon as my good friend Daos sings their praises repeatedly. So I went up to the truck(no lines) and asked a man standing out front taking orders what he would suggest for a first timer. He said I must get the Baco Taco. So I said order me up one please. Within 5 minutes I was the proud recipient of the strangest looking taco I ever had. Instead of wrapped in a taco shell I received a bacon shell. Heaven sent is all I can say of this piping hot yumminess that is the bacon truck. I will be back to try their bacon breakfast sammie that a guy next to me was devouring or should i say making love too. His groans alone made me want to go back up to the window and order one but alas there were 6 other trucks to try! So Lardon, you made a fan out of me on the first try! COming back for the bacon sammie and the bacon brownie. As Elton Brown would say«Good Eats!»

Hmmmm this is hard to rate… I admit. The BLT wasn’t bad. It was 2 pieces of thick cut bacon(which I loved. but can’t really go wrong with bacon right?) on a very tough baguette, and like 5 pieces of petite tomatoes and a sprinkle of lettuce… I mean it was barely there. It was mostly bread which was very hard to chew… I wish it was a little lighter on the bread and maybe more lettuce would’ve made the sandwich a little better. The sandwich was $ 7.50 I got a water which I thought would be around a dollar, but I ended up paying $ 10.50. Gosh… I guess the water was $ 2 lol for a $ 10.50 meal, I expected a little more. Sorry Lardon. Maybe it was just not your day… or you are just not my type.

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. Yet he became hungry from all his work which he had made. God looked upon what he made, selecting the finest pork, and created the Baco. Sensing Adam would screw it up, he created Jerry, to make sure we would also enjoy this amazing creation. God knew then he could rest. And enjoy his Baco. Amen.

For today’s experience only maybe 3.75 stars, but I want to try them again, so that’s a good sign. It was fairly serendipitous too, that I tried Lardon today. Originally, my appetite was whet by the prospect of Coolhaus being in Woodland Hills, finally, when I’m not at work. It’s the first time ever. I realize people with normal jobs can take a longer lunch from time to time, but as a teacher with a 39 minute lunch, there’s no way driving to a food truck will ever work for me. Sadly, according to the late tweets, Coolhaus was afraid of the rain and didn’t make it =(. Luckily for us, Lardon accompanied Manila Machine. I had to order the Baco: fried potatoes and cheddar cheese wrapped up in a bacon-made taco. The flavor combo was nice, and the idea itself is just stunning, really! If my bacon were more crispy and less greasy, this would be the perfect meal! I am interested in trying the bacon brownie as well as some pancakes or breakfast yummy. If i see you around Lardon, I’ll definitely give you another try!

Getting the French toast sandwich with bacon and the frisee au Lardon, I think that’s what they were called was absolutely messy as hell. Now don’t get me wrong, messy is a good thing especially when it tastes absolutely fantabulous. With Maple syrup all settled to the bottom of the French toast sandwich, made for excellent dipping. Salty, sweet, seems like the ends of the loaf of bread, I’m lovin’ this great to go thing. The sandwich on the other hand was a disaster. The over-easy egg was in the sandwich already«poked» or probably squished from the sandwich. I usually like my eggs runny anyways and love slurping up the runny yolk but it was all at the bottom of the tray. Another dipping sandwich it is but it was really tasty and a bigger sandwich for the price instead of the other trucks charging $ 7 for two sliders. I’m still hungry after this but at least it would home me over more than two sliders. Bottom line, I would come here again when they’re in the neighborhood. Welcome to the downtown neighborhood. Let me know when you drop by again. I’ll bring a few more friends down with me as Jin did for me and Kevin. Unilocalers look out for Unilocalers.

The Breakfast sandwich is so good. What can I say about this truck that I haven’t said already?!! The people are great! The Food is great! I just ca’t say enough about them. So far, I have had the infamous Baco, the brownie, some cookies, The chicken, the breakfast burrito, and now the Breakfast Sandwich. ALL of them have been absolutely delicious! But the Baco. it is just something special. LOVE this truck!

Growing up, I would have to eat my bacon quickly otherwise my Dad would snatch it off my plate. I had that same nervous greed when I was in line for Lardon. Mine mine mine! They serve breakfast all day and the burrito and french toast brioche were calling my name. Along with the bacone, the baco, and the Lardon BLT. I wasn’t sure that Lucy Y and Ciara G would be able to roll my body back to the car, so I only ordered two things. Self control was my mantra. And it was hard trying to limit myself. Having read all their reviews, I was torn between the french toast brioche and the BLT. In the end, the BLT won. Baco Taco: This is what dreams are made of. My baco was exceptionally large — with the perfect bacon shell and filling. But I have to rave about the bacon topped horseradish. I’m not a huge horseradish fan, but I was eating this straight off the fork. It helped enhance the flavor of the baco — it wasn’t less bacony it just cut the potential greasiness of potato, cheese and bacon. Definitely get the Baco, you won’t regret it. Jerry said they are working on three more varieties of bacos and I can’t wait to try those out. Lardon BLT with fried egg: Sandwiches should be messy, and here the egg was the star. The yolk was perfect and ran over the entire sandwich, melding all the flavors in something much better than the usual mayonnaise. Yay for yolk! The tomatoes were perfect, even though they aren’t in their prime season. They weren’t heirloom, but tomatoes so good in flavor that they could have been. The baguette was nice — toasty where it needed to be, but soft enough that I could easily take bites. The bacon blue cheese combination was nummy. This really worked as a sandwich, I just wish it had been cut in half. I’m sure Jerry and the gang will be happy to do that next time. I tried the pancakes(yum!) and more than tried the brownie. The brownie was well made — it had the touch of coffee to enhance the chocolate flavor. Somehow it wasn’t tooth-achingly sweet. Kudos Lark Bakery. Small Details: I flove that Jerry asked people if they wanted the edges or centers of the brownies. I’m a corner brownie fan and have never been offered that choice before. Lardon doesn’t park in front of restaurants. Lardon has stools for the customers. Jerry and the Crew are ridiculously cool and not just because they have bacon swag. They took the time to quality control the orders. They remade Lucy Y’s pancakes because they weren’t happy with the first batch. They also fried up extra eggs for my BLT to make sure it was the right consistency. Jerry learned our names and came out of the truck to check on how we were doing. I wish I could get that service at 5 star restaurants.

It seems like I visit Lardon every week! Well, honestly, how can I stay away from Jerry and his bacon team? Tonight it was Ciara G, Amy B and me — plus a special surprise meeting with fellow Unilocal Elite-ster Fanon P and his friend Chelsea — AND a coincidental meeting with a guy whose actual last name(he showed his drivers’ license) was BACON. Lardon, bringing people together though bacon: D. This is how I got my lard on tonight: Pancakes with bacon pieces and bourbon bacon maple syrup($ 5.50) — OMG these two fluffy pancakes were super-studded with thick cut bacon pieces, and the syrup was the perfect accent. This is now one of my top faves on this truck — YUM!!! Bacone($ 4) — the thick cut slices of duck and wild boar bacon was so good the last time, I had to get it again! In addition to having some AWESOME food, I also learned something very important about this truck, and Jerry — the brain behind the Bacone: *THEYWILLNOTEVERPARKINFRONTOF A RESTAURANT* That’s right — Jerry, on principal, refuses to park in front of a restaurant! So they parked on Olympic, east of the Sawtelle corridor(which had the likes of The Flying Pig, Bool, Phamish, Krazy BBQ, Lee’s Philly Steak and India Jones tonight). Jerry, you’re a good guy. AND you have bacon!: D

I am fairly certain that I momentarily died and went straight to HOGHEAVEN. The Bacon Gods have smiled down upon me and my beloved City of Angels… much to the jealousy of Vegetarians and health fanatics ANYwhere… LARDONISOPENFORDELICIOUSARTERYCLOGGINGBUSINESS!!! Special thanks to Catherine C. for first bringing this to my attention! Shortly thereafter I found myself ordering their Bacon Breakfast Burrito($ 6), their soon to be infamous BACO($ 4)(pronounce it like TACO) and to round out my nutritious meal… their Lark Brownie with Nutella and bacon($ 3.50)… After snapping the obligatory Unilocal pics I knew I had to send one over to my two favorite sweets and bacon fanatics, Michelle T and Ciara G! I was happy they both approved. OH, and I also inadvertently met a cool dude named Jin who gave me a sneak peek of his brownie while we waited for our food! The dude who took my order… Jerry I assume… was SUPER nice and gave me a free sticker to boot! On to the grub… One bite of the bacon breakfast burrito and I can instantly tell that this is not your ordinary bacon… www.yelp.com/biz_photos/m6OGxGCNWLBbN62-hos2QQ?select=G31qE3x8wAKiVqMV-eVznA the quality of the thick cut, smoked bacon was readily apparent and obviously went perfect with the fried egg and potatoes and delicious cheddar. My only gripe was that it could have used more bacon… but I’m a bacon whore, so just ignore me. Anywho, I immmediately(literally) ate my words after unwrapping the baco …this thing is a mini masterpiece… imagine weaving a basket… but weaving it with thick quality bacon… then creating a «taco» shell out of said woven bacon… then stuff the shell with tasty potatoes and gooey cheddar… take a bite… experience multiple porkgasms… and repeat. Their horseradish bacon sour cream went great with both the burrito and baco… tasty overindulgence done right. Now, I’m no sweets fanatic… but when you add bacon to… well…anything…you’re pretty much guaranteed my undivided attention. The bacon nutella brownie totally KO’d me after a few sinfully delicious bites… chocolatey, thick, gooey, bacony dessert perfection. My hats off to the creators of this BOMBARDMENTOFBACONBENEVOLENCE. This is a TRUEBACONBONANZA. So, roll up your sleeves and indulge in an overabundance of sizzling delights my friends… then thank the bacon gods for restoring order to the universe. But…seriously people… clear a path, show some respect, it’s a motherfu*king bacon truck.

We love BACON!!! Clap clap, clap clap clap! Prayers have been answered– a BACONTRUCK!!! The happy madness all began with a pic text from my fave pork guru Cesar R! BACONNUTELLABROWNIE what? I jump on my Unilocal app and see buddy Jin N has checked in as well! I knew Ciara G would be all over this too and wasn’t surprised to see a check in by her later that same night with ANOTHER check in by Jin! This just moved to the top of my list!!! I lucked out when Ciara told me they would be at Heal The Bay event which I was already going to courtesy of tip by Jenn G. Dude and I made a bee line to the LARDON truck and was soon followed by Ciara and later THEFOODTRUCKSTAR/ROCKSTAR JIN!!! I had to order the BACO($ 4.00): essentially a potato and cheese taco in a BACONSHELL Genius! Comes with a side of horshradish with bacon bits. A must order!!! We also got their Frisee Au Lardon Sammie($ 6.00) — fried egg on a beautiful shiny brioche with their yummy BACON and frisee(pr: frisay) lettuce. www.yelp.com/biz_photos/m6OGxGCNWLBbN62-hos2QQ?select=7psCe64Tu0qB4XYBlMdyYQ The beauty in this sammie is that it could have been a crazy greasy concoction but it is actually pretty light and the perfect snack that doesn’t leave u feeling bloated– which is perfect so u have just enough room to crave something salty sweet= their Lark BACON Nutella brownie($ 3.50)!! I love that lardon master jerry took advice from their number one fans jin and ciara and added a pinch of sea salt on the brownie. Perfect for sharing! I also had a bite of Ciara’s Brioche French Toast with BACON and BACON bourbon maple syrup($ 5.50). I can’t wait to see Ciara’s suggestion of a SWEET bacon treat! YESPLEASE! *Don’t be a bakatare– get a baco and GETYOURLARDON now fo sizzle!!!

There was a time I would chase down all the trucks no matter where they were. Over the past couple of years, I’ve become jaded with the foodtruck trend. It seems you find the same old concepts or just another label of fusion. Then along came Lardon… Like the greasy aroma of pork fat being fried in a skillet, I heard murmurs of a truck that featured only bacon. I dig pig, so bacon is any easy temptation to lull me out of a hard heart towards foodtrucks. Lardon eluded me on their soft opening week but I made it a goal to find them again. I found them in MacArthur Park when they mentioned on twitter they’d be there. I found some easy parking by La Fonda — too easy. There wasn’t a line since Lardon is a new truck. I didn’t complain. It allowed me to take some time and check all they offered. Not a huge complex menu, but you can tell they are putting their own spins on traditional as well as some of their own creations. I just scanned through the menu while I stood just enjoying the aroma of bacon. BACON. Jerry’s smiling face peeked out and asked if I was having any trouble. In fact I admitted, that I am not trying to go overboard as I tend to. We laughed but I already knew I was doomed to try everything. I thought I did well by ordering only 3 items :)(Cmon… its bacon). I asked Jerry what I should order first. I barely finished the sentence when he said… the BACO. What??? Bay-ko? or Bah-ko? Ohhh. Baco as in Taco. It didn’t take long before I ordered the Chicken Wings and the Bacon Brownie. Baco is just fantastic. Lardon makes a taco shell out of bacon(BACON!!!) and fills it with potato and cheese like a good papas taco. Dear Lord… you can eat it for breakfast, lunch, after drinking or post herbal munchies. Its that good — and so bad. Even if its just for novelty, a baco is one item to try. The chicken wings were very nice too. Cooked nicely with a tangy and spicy sauce. I didn’t realize til much later that Heather makes her own sauce. Its not from a bottle. The wings come with a couple of slices of smoked bacon. Two wings was a tease. I could’ve eaten a basketful. The bacon brownie is self explanatory. Its so dense and rich I had to take it to the office and power through it. This will send you to food coma for sure. I think the brownie could use a sprinkle of sea salt — that would take it to another level.‘1 I was having a great time in front of the truck, enjoying a long lazy lunch while chatting with the staff and Jerry about how they will slowly kill me with repeat visits. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, which was cut short because the evil parking meter maid decided to place a parking ticket on my car. DAMMIT. I was having too much fun! I went back to the office and slipped into food coma. I posted pics on Unilocal and FB. I got instant responses through both as well as txts on the phone. I started gloating and taunting with some friends. Ciara G mentioned she wanted to go to Lardon and said they would be at NoHo that evening. At first I thought it was a joke until I found myself heading up to the Valley meet Ciara G. for my second visit to Lardon. Yes… two visits in ONE day. And I loved it. I love eating with another foodie. It allows to order more and try many other items off the menu. Baco, Wings and Brownie of course. But the night visit included a sample of the French Toast(fantastic), the BLT(the bleu cheese they use instead of mayo bumps it up), and the frisee sandwich(perfectly fried egg? YES. The tiny crispy lardon chunks were so good. And its frisee… its a vegetable … its healthy). We were having major food coma from all the variations of bacon. It was such a fun evening with the Lardon staff as well as the customers. We would joke about bacon, or recommend items to newcomers to the line. It was a pleasure to see items on the menu slowly post as OUT. We cleaned out the truck. HAHAHA. This leads me to my final and hopefully lasting note. Jerry and Heather(and Mariel) are such good people. I prize the food trucks/restaurants that are run by good people. Such warm and gracious people who welcome you to their truck. They are genuinely happy and thankful that you visit them. Whether its a little sample of bacon or just a friendly banter they make good food what it should be… a good experience. They are worth visiting and supporting. They’ve won a loyal fan in me. I look forward to seeing how Lardon grows and develops.

May the Pork be with you. And also with you. I am not religious in any way but I do believe their is a higher power. The Lardon Truck is the perfect example that a higher power does exist. Let’s all join hands for a moment of prayer… I give us this day our daily pork… When my bacon buddy and SoCal VP of Ourdailypork(keep a look out for this ya’ll as it will be HUGE one day. I’ll tell you when it goes mainstream) sent me a text with a pic of the Bacon Nutella Brownie I almost lost it. And then I saw that Jin N. also checked into the truck at lunch time. Of course my first reaction was to get my computer, bookmark it and see if the guys posted any other pictures. OMG they did and I PORKGASMED! Cesar and I made plans to hunt the truck down next week. But I saw via twitter that they were going to be slangin swine in NoHo starting at 5pm. I knew tonight was the night and there was no way I could wait until next week. I canceled my dinner plans(Sorry Mom) and braved the traffic on the 110 through DTLA and on the 101 through HWood to get here. I arrived to see the shiny new bacon truck on the street and Jin N. We walked to the window and the whole truck crew screamed«Jiiiiiiiinnnnn». It was really cool. Two words pretty much sum up this truck. EPICGENIUS. The Baco – Come on seriously… a bacon breakfast«taco» that can be enjoyed any time of the day that is filled with hash-brown potatoes and cheese but nix the taco shell and instead make a shell of goodness out of BACON. This swinealicious treat is served with a Bacon Horseradish Sour Cream. GENIUS! Ps…If you see a Sweet Baco on the menu one day send thanks to the way of Jin and I Or how about Chicken Wings tossed in a bacon infused hot sauce and topped with strips of hot sauced up bacon. EPIC. And Bacon Blue Cheese Dressing. GENIUS. So combined comes the EPICGENIUS. The French Toast was porkgasmic as the perfectly grilled brioche was stuffed with bacon in the center and then smoothed in bacon bourbon maple syrup. Jerry showed me the bottle of the bacon greased up bourbon and man it was a beautiful sight. The BLT was out of this world! The bread was perfect(they get it from a small mom and pop bakery in LA), fresh butter lettuce and heirloom tomatoes. And the blue cheese. Oh that blue cheese. So creamy and strong. No mayo needed as that made the perfect spread. The Frisee Lardon Sammie was simply delicious. Perfect fried egg, crispy yet fatty cubed bits of bacon, nice shiny soft fresh brioche and the right amount of frisee. LARKBACONNUTELLABROWNIE! Enough said with that. If you see it topped with some sea salt that was our idea. But it was delicious as is. Lardon does not mess around and the kicker here is they use great quality bacon. You can seriously taste, see and smell the difference. Service– WOW! Service was beyond fantastic. Jerry, Heather and Team your friendliness, warmth, love for bacon and openness to new ideas will keep me coming back for more. Keep up the good work and you will go faaaaarrrr in this food truck world. Plus having a bacon truck on your side helps as well. As a true Pork lover I am in complete awe of this truck. The pig is a beautiful animal. When I think of the Pig I think of Ad Hocs logo, Kim D’s Boo Mr. Ryan Farr’s 4505 Chicharrones, the crispy bacon that my Grandma used to make me every morning for breakfast and the saying by the Chef God himself Thomas Keller, Respect for food is a respect for life. For who we are and what we do. I rejoice and Unilocal praises dear Lardon Truck. Pig on. Bacon Rules. PORKGASM. Fo Sizzle.

Bacon that has been smoked– Peppered Bacon— Bacon marinated in Buffalo Sauce– Extra lean Duck Bacon— Lardon(rhymes with uh never mind) gets it’s 5 stars just for having options from all 4 food groups. 5 If you count Diet Coke. And all 4 choices of bacon were awesome as well. I had the«Lardon»(doesn’t rhyme with garden) sandwich with the same name as a truck. The Lardon(doesn’t rhyme with pardon) Is just a BLT, but only in the same respect that a Testarossa is just a car. Start with the baguette, you can’t find a better one anywhere. They butter and toast it and add lettuce and 2 thick tomato slices. Then they sprinkle the right amount of imported Blue Cheese and some thick crispy peppered bacon specially imported from a strange faraway land called Wisconsin. As the late Billy Mays would say: BUTWAITTHERE’S MORE!!! The truck is run by 2 of the nicest people in the whole food truck business, Jerry and Heather. As I was finishing, they asked me how my meal was and I told them the truth – It was very good but the bacon didn’t seem to be Peppered. It looks like I got the Smoked Bacon by mistake. It was still a great sandwich, but it wasn’t precisely what I ordered or what they wanted to serve me. Jerry offered to let me try another slice of the Peppered, and I am not one to ever turn down free bacon, so I gladly accepted. This was the real thing. I am going to be having bacon dreams tonight. Meanwhile Heather(who I hope will adopt me) came out of the truck and let me sample the Buffalo Sauce and Duck Bacons. The Buffalo Sauce is designed to be served over Chicken Wings, but if they allow substitutions, I’ll bet it goes well in some of their breakfast offerings as well. The 4th bacon I tried was the Duck. it was my least favorite of the 4 styles I had. I only give it a 9.8 on a scale of 10.00. It had a great flavor, but it was too lean to really crisp up. They comped the sampler, but my sandwich and Diet Coke came to 7.75 including tax. If it happens that you are hungry when you see the truck, stop by and try them. If it happens you aren’t hungry, just stand in the back and inhale the bacon aroma. If it was my truck, I would charge 2 bucks for that, but Jerry and Heather will let you do that for free. «Gourmet Food Truck #22 on my never-ending quest to try every truck in So Cal»
