Great customer service, great selection of meat with great quality. The fact that they provide wide variety of self served side dishes add merits to the restuarant. This will be my go to korean bbq spot in Koreatown although there are tons out there. Attention to detail, they know small things can buy the customers heart such as the sauces they provide for the meat as well as super affordable AYCE prices

I was in Koreatown and naturally had to try out the barbecue. It had been quite some since I had been to that type of establishment. And even though there are many places elsewhere I seem to only really crave it when I am on the west coast. This review is late and has to deal with the quality of experience I had at the time. During the winter months, even a place like Los Angeles gets cold at night. I did not have any particular restaurant in mind when I set out to get barbecue. One spot I walked past looked very busy where even the parking lot was packed. It was somewhat late at night and as I previously stated, the weather was colder than I expected. I was walking up 8th and came across Man Soo. It looked kind of busy but looked like a nice spot to try. There were already a few people waiting. Most customers there were either a party or at least two people. I was there alone but that did not seem to be a problem. The waiting was fine and they had to clear a table for me. The all-you-can-eat(AYCE) required a minimum of two. No big deal eating for two here. The place had a good crowd. Banchan is at a self serve bar so you can ha e unlimited kimchee if one desires. Service was up and down. Getting the meats to the table was fairly quick. Getting a soda pop was another issue. I think I asked three different people including my original server. They all acknowledged the request but never came back with anything. There is a display refrigerator near the waiting area. At one point I was going to get up and get one myself. Chicken, spicy beef, brisket and some other things were all looking fresh. I think I ended up eating for four by the end of it all. One funny thing was hat when they were getting the bill, my server verified with me to see if I had three sodas. I politely corrected him with no argument. The market there is full of the same places. This place was decent I believe and the employees seem to be very diligent workers regardless of what happened with my drink order.

The food was pretty good, I love that there are a variety of meat options. The brisket was my particular favorite but not much of a fan of the pork belly. It’s pretty cool watching the meat being cooked right infront of you(if your friends are doing the cooking for you that is) and overall it’s a cool experience. But the service wasn’t too great because it seemed like they wanted us to leave by the time we were ordering more rounds. It would have been nice if that kind of pressure wasn’t ruining our appetite you know.

This is my favorite Korean BBQ. I love sides that they offer. There is also an excellent selection of meat to choose from. I especially like the octopus!

Definitely a hidden gem for Koreatown. The meat was great and the service was fast! I love the self-serve banchan! Definitely a nice place, situated near a lot of other good dessert places! Enjoyed a great experience. Absolutely recommend it.

I’m very surprised to see that Man Soo doesn’t have higher reviews. I’ve only been here once so far but I had a spectacular experience with a large group, trying many different kinds of delectable meats. One thing I really like about this place that stands out is the high-quality self-serve banchan. Usually the«buffet» style banchan isn’t as good because it’s just sitting out there and getting man-handled by the public, but Man Soo had amazing banchan. Some of the tastiest kimchi I’ve had in awhile! I couldn’t get enough of it. The selection of meats was amazing. There were all the classic thin cut pieces, thick steaks, and more exotic cuts as well. We tried pretty much everything and were thoroughly impressed with the freshness and flavor of all the meat. We really took the concept of AYCE to the max. Overall, Man Soo has instantly become one of my favorite KBBQAYCE places in K-Town. Excited to go back again!

Bona fide Korean restaurant! From bbq to traditional Korean dishes, the quality is A+ Unilocalers, give em your love and try this place. The lunch special is outrageous pricing! Now, we can go get some expensive Koreatown coffee ;)

I LOVEAYCE Korean barbeque, so I’m always trying out new places. Clearly, I’m a big Unilocaler so I tend to mostly go to places that come up first on the website. This place never comes up, so even though I’ve driven by it many times, I never felt the urge to check it out until I had to attend a birthday party there. I was pleasantly surprised. They have a huge menu of various meat dishes, including high quality sirloin cuts, kalbi, and gopchang. They also have a banchan bar, which is pretty unique to such types of restaurants. Service was good, valet parking was available, and the atmosphere was not nearly as hectic as some of the other AYCE restaurants around in K-town. There’s nothing fancy about this place, so if you’re going for marble table tops, huge grills, dozens of servers hustling and bustling, then you’ll be disappointed. This place is simple and good. I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a low-key K-BBQ place to go to.

I came here once for a company dinner and it’s great for groups. Since there is the self serve bar for your«banchans,“or small side dishes, it makes service really easy. You just go up and help yourself and can grab some water for yourself while you’re at it. The only thing I had to ask for was soda, those rice papers and salad. I tried some exotic meats that I don’t usually try by myself, I am more of a get full on as much chadol as possible type of girl but I came with a big group of Koreans and they liked weird cuts of meat. I couldn’t NOT try! Tongue, intestine, jowl, etc. One of the cuts I also really enjoyed was the very thin pork belly. Yum. I like to grab some kimchi from the self serve and grill on the side and eat the two together, SOGOOD. Because there are just so many korean bbq places to choose from, it’s hard to distinguish which is better or worse from the others. I definitely like that this has a restaurant feel and you can order real dishes or kbbq which you grill yourself but it’s right there in the middle. Not necessarily a bad thing. I have come here about twice now, and both were recommendations from the other person so I guess it’s pretty popular!

I’d give this place 3.5 stars because the food is great, but the service isn’t as good. I haven’t been to an all you can eat kbbq place in awhile because I was tired of all the cheap quality meat, but this place was pretty good. It’s $ 15 per person for AYCE during lunch and $ 23 or $ 29 for dinner, depending on which package you choose. Pros and cons for the side dishes: PROS: — you get to get as much side dish you want — you don’t have to constantly ask the waiter CONS: — you have to get up frequently — servers take awhile refilling the dishes when it runs out Also, this one lady gave us an attitude throughout the time we were there because we kept asking questions. We asked to switch tables and she gave us sass by almost tossing the utensils and paper on the table rather than gently placing them. Her face definitely showed that she was annoyed and her actions clearly showed it too. I thought it was their job to serve us with quality care.

I came here by accident when I first moved to LA, and didn’t know my way around. We just drove around Ktown until we saw a decent place that didn’t have a long wait for KBBQ. It’s been months since I’ve been there and their lasting impression on me is they have the BEST steamed egg – I’m not sure what it is. In the past when I’ve gotten steamed eggs at other places it’s standard, nothing special. But I literally ordered two when I was here because it was so good. I don’t know what they do but I highly recommend it. Everything else was pretty standard, I like that they have a bar where you can get your sides, and the prices were very fair. They do not serve AYCE if you go alone, or atleast they specify that on their menu so I’ve never tried, but if they did I would definitely go!

Decent AYCEKBBQ. Employees here are super nice and bonus points for taking reservations. Food-wise though, this place has a lot of room for improvement, especially in such a saturated KBBQ market. + Lots of options on the AYCE menu + Woo samgyup was really good + Ask for the rice cake wrap! So yummy wrapped around some meat and dipped in sauce + Dongchimi guksu was the perfect way to end the meal. So light and refreshing, great as a palette cleanser after eating a crazy amount of meats. + Can accommodate big groups Negatives: — Banchan is self-serve and the selection is really poor. The few that they offer really suffered in quality. The muk(acorn jelly) was such a gross consistency and tasted old. — Some of the meats are tougher and not of the best quality — The servers don’t cook it for you — Even water is self-serve by the banchan buffet(aka they are lazy, they don’t even bring you a bottle and cups for the table like most KBBQ places)

They have both AYCE and a la carte options. My review is for the AYCE. The quality of meat is pretty good for AYCE and they have some interesting menu items — skirt steak, hangar(or as they say, hanging) steak, beef belly, rib«finger» meat, and a seafood based ssam jang sauce(yum!). Their middle tier even offers shrimp. Their self-serve banchan bar is a bit basic and limited but everything tastes fresh. For $ 5 they will make spicy fried rice for you at the end, but we’re such pigs and end up too stuffed to try it out. They also have dongchimi gooksoo and I must say it is very very good — comparable and maybe even better than that OTHER place :) The space is nice and airy which provides for good ventilation. Service could be a little better — I’ve found some of the ajummas to be a bit huffy and slow, while others are on the ball.

Came here over the weekend for a birthday and it was okay, just that I’ve experienced better. This is an AYCE Korean BBQ which I am not usually a fan of to begin with… but it was spacious and crowded, so I was hopeful. We went with the 2nd combo out of three and here are some things I noticed: –You can pick up the banchan and other from their buffet line at any time(but make sure not to be greedy about it if you are not going to eat all!) –Service was on the quicker side if you can actually get a hold of the servers –There are many different meat selections to choose from –Meat quality was not the best; most were too hard to chew or had some off-taste –Their meat portions are pretty large and will you up fast –Get their dwenjang jjigae, even though it took us literally 40minutes to get ours –They also have rice porridge option at the end –Restroom overflowed while we were there so I couldn’t use it… –Valet parking in the back Overall, it was an okay AYCE restaurant with no highlights.

Came here with some friends who found this place on Unilocal. We were in the area so decided to stop by. For what I have experienced at other Korean BBQ’s this place did not impress me at all or even came close to others. They did have plenty of seating but ironically we waited about 20 minutes to be seated yet we could see soooo many empty tables which was a bit sketchy already. Food wasn’t terrible actually, everything taste fresh and good and for $ 14.99 you get the all you can eat which was bad at all. Their salad bar was also good. The service was also ok, we did get good help from our waiter and he was helpful. I don’t think I would visit this place again however unless I am in the immediate area and nothing else is open or I have to come here.

I came here for the first time with a few friends and we happened to drive by and said lets just go here! For a Korean bbq restaurant in Koreatown we didn’t even wait a long time. We only waited about 20 minutes. Food was pretty good and we got the all you can eat for just 14.99. They have a salad bar where you can get up and grab some goods which I thought was different but pretty convenient! The food wasn’t something that I was amazed about, BUT it was tasty and they brought the meat out every time we rang the bell and asked for more. Service was great also!

*****I give this place a solid 4.5 stars!!***** We came here when we didn’t want to wait an hour for oo-kook just down the street. No wait for a party of 4 on a Saturday night(around 8:30). It was definetly a bonus since I was starving. It’s AYCE for $ 23/person. The banchan self serve bar was limited but had the basics like kimchi, seaweed, spinach, marinated peppers. I thought the meats was good quality, flavorful and well marinated. I can’t remember everything we ordered but my favorite was the pork jaw and shrimp. We also got cold noodles($ 3), bean paste soup, and eggs. I wasn’t expecting much since there’s not a lot of reviews. But I was surprised! Overall, service was great, food was good, and prices were reasonable. It’s authentic Korean food and not as popular as the other well known restaurants in Ktown, but I wasn’t disappointed! I would recommend this place if you don’t feel like waiting around… meat was just as good. I can’t speak for the soup, egg and banchan but everything else was great :)

Great alternative AYCEKBBQ spot! Came here after we were disappointed that there was a 2.5hr wait at the original place we wanted to go. My family and I were really hungry by this point and my dad suggested we go to this spot. I’m glad we did! The service was really good~! The lady was super attentive and came by often to help us cook our meat and cut it up n stuff, too! Went above and beyond :) They had a self serve bar for side dishes so you can get more of whatever you like best. Not a bad idea since I only like certain side dishes anyway. Meats were all really well marinated and tasted really good. Valet parking right in the back. Convenient and only $ 2! Only thing is that they close pretty early compared to other spots. noticed more of an older crowd coming here. Not so «hip» for the youngsters lol, but I’m getting old anyway so I don’t mind! :P
