I am so very pleased with my haircut! I wish I took a before picture to show what Kira had to work with! My instructions were simple, try to keep as much length as you can, layers are okay as long as they fit into a ponytail/bun and my cowlick widows peak rules my part lol. Kira was very friendly, quick but not hurried and did an excellent job! My hair is so shiny and healthy I couldn’t be happier. she cut off 3 inches, evened out my grown out layers and fixed my poorly cut side bangs. I’ll definitely be booking another appointment

Called this place on a whim and got an appointment with Kira. I wanted an a-line bob and she did an amazing job! I love it! And it’s affordable

Just called to see what a trim would be. The girl on the phone said«35 and up». I then asked«what would cause the price to go up?»…to which she aptly replied«hair length». I said«okay so if my hair is chin length it shouldn’t cost me more than $ 35 — right». SHETHENSAID… «It costs $ 35 and up» and abruptly HUNGUP. I think it was a fair question and I’ve worked in the service industry — no matter how annoying she might have thought I was for asking a simple question — she had no right to hang up on me. Very rude… not sure I even want to go now…

MP was the FIRST. How are there, like, twenty other salons on the block now??? None of them will ever be as cool or play the best music. No frills. Family biz. Love.

After twenty-five years of conservative, I wanted to get back to my roots — and I wanted them fire engine red. Contemplated the change, researched salons and picked Manic Panic based on the Unilocal reviews and on Cindy’s fantastic cut and color photo on Unilocal as well. Went in nervous and jumpy — major hair changes with new stylists are the ultimate big commitment, right? Nikki custom mixed my color and got to work — friendly, sweet, sense of humor and mad hair skills. Laura took over at the end and worked on my cut. She kept working on it when I needed changes to the original idea to be comfortable, stayed sweet and really listened to me and what I asked for. I walked out looking like a punk-rock supermodel, or at least I felt like one. These ladies are badass. Another stylist with long blue hair was working as well, and everyone she touched looked amazing afterward. Service was kind, courteous and understanding of my very nervous take on radical hair change. Got 5 compliments before I got home including«You look so much younger!» from the cute punk rock femmeboy at the bakery counter. Going back and suggest you go too. This place is the bomb and I am over the moon. 5 stars.

I had a black/vampire red ombré done by Jessica today. She did exactly what I wanted. I love my hair!!! I am a very happy customer and will be returning. I have finally found a hairstylist that meets my standards.

I had an appointment today with Nikki, who did my roots, and toned my patchy blue-lavender hair a gorgeous steely gray. She walked me through the process, explained the limitations of some of my ideas, and I was in and out in about two painless hours! I’ll definitely be back!

Price: Awesome(~$ 25 for a men’s I believe) Environment: Great I used to come here all the time a couple of years ago when I lived nearby. Hannah gave perfect haircuts — required very little instructions and somehow knew exactly what I wanted. 5+ stars for my experiences then. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem that Hannah works there anymore so I took a haircut with Michelle. She was friendly and great at small-talk, but the haircut was a bit choppy/uneven. I’m really not picky about haircuts but I do expect a reasonably even cut/attention to detail. I’m sure she would have fixed it if I noticed the choppiness then but alas I don’t have the quickest eye for these sorts of things.

I had very high hopes for this place. I love their products and think their an amazing company. However for their salon I cannot say the same. I walked in their very hopeful that they were able to accomplish my hair style. I wasn’t upset about how they didn’t have that certain color do to it being out of stock. Nonetheless I was appalled about the unfortunate customer service. The lady at register was more calm but the lady that could have done my hair lacked some manners. I understood that my hair needed more lightening but her continuously telling me that my hair was going to fall out without me even getting a word out. I believe that was a bit redundant. I do hope to come back here one day but not until they have a new hair dresser. Highly unprofessional.

If you have wavy, curly, frizzy kinky hair and need to look fab, you can pretty much come in here blindfolded and wake up to absolute gorgeousness galore! My hair is kinky with weird curls, meaning that if you cut it the way you cut ‘regular’ hair, I look like giant frizz ball. And as you know it takes FOREVER to grow. So one bad cut and thats months of bad hair for me. I am used not having a hair dresser make my hair look pretty and flattering which is why I only get a trim. This is the first time in years that I have found a hair dresser who made my face look prettier by cutting my hair. I came in looking and feeling super ugly and hating my hair and I walked out feeling fabulous and sexy without even having to style my hair. I didn’t worry once about how much length was getting cut off etc (you know. that daunting wait in the chair all the while you keep your eye on that pair of scissors to ensure that your weird waves which kinda sit good now might get butchered and have another 3 months ahead of waiting to grow it out;) Anyways…on that note she actually cut my hair dry which is fantastic. there aren’t enough hair dressers who KNOW curls(which are naturally dry and frizzy). PS also super cheap bonus! I won’t be getting my hair cut anywhere else. PPS lots parking and cute little shops and cafes on the street as well

I left the salon with barely blow dried hair(everyone knows unless you blow it out with a round brush, dried hair looks awful). Nikky did a good job with the color nevertheless, but I asked when I booked the appointment if they styled the hair before I left and they said yes, unfortunately I left the salon as if I had dried it myself, and worse when i got to my car I realized they had left clumps of dried hair dye still im my head! Needless to say I had to get home and wash my hair again, blow dry it straight and style it. So much for a $ 130 salon job. I told both Nikky and her assistant that i had a company Christmas party i had to go to that afternoon and that I needed my hair to be at least blown out so I could curl it later, their response was that it was Saturday and all they could do was dry it to see how the color came out. Im very disappointed :( P.s the young lady that works as an «assistant» needs to be further educated, if she cannot properly wash off hair color and do a simple blow out then she shouldn’t be dealing with clients.

I meant to write a review my first time going in but forgot so taking the time now after my second visit to say how happy I am this place exists. I’m a completely sane and rational woman about everything except for my bangs. For some reason I save alllll of my OCD goodness for that. I also get nervous when other people cut my hair because I kinda feel like if you don’t have bangs you just don’t get it. I feel super at ease here and had Laura the first time and so sorry I can’t remember the other girl(green hair and nice bangs) the next time. I messed up my bangs and they were able to fix them up for me and even squeezed me in the second time despite my incoherent grammar and desperation for help. :) Toooootally appreciate that. And will def keep coming back for bang trims, as whatever I spend will save me thousands on therapy I’d have to get to quell my anxiety over keeping my bangs perfect on my own.

After searching Unilocal FOREVER for a salon I thought I could trust, I landed here based on the reviews. They were very friendly and even gave me a same day appt which was awesome! It all went down from there… I went in to touch up the balyage color in my hair, I have a baby and hadn’t gotten around to doing it in a while. As the stylist was rinsing my hair I can feel her struggling… there was a huge hair KNOT which she had to cut out INTHEMIDDLEOFMYHAIR!!! I tried to be nice about it, even when both she and the owner blamed it on me and my postpartum hair falling out!!! When she completed the color and cut I was feeling a little better as she did a good job of blending the layers with the chunk of missing hair. The color, however, was awful. It wasn’t anything like I explained and showed her!!! I said something, but left with hair I didn’t like. I called a few hours later and told her I really wasn’t happy and she agreed to fix it. I came in and she not only did she charge me for color but didn’t come close to succeeding in fixing it!!! Also, she said she wouldn’t blow dry it, so I was left walking out like a drowned dirty yellow skunk. Thought I should write my experience and maybe save someone some heartache… and cash!

I had a great experience here. I saw a barista at Intelligentsia with a dope haircut, and asked her where she gets it cut. SO, I decided to try out Manic Panic. I called the same day and made an appointment. I walked in and didn’t have to wait at all. Kira really took time to understand what type of cut I wanted. If I wasn’t sure how short I wanted some parts of my hair, she gave her opinion and gave me different options on how to style my hair. She knows her stuff! Manic Panic will be my go-to place from now on :) Street parking is an hour, which is how long the cut took. Prices are reasonable.

Absolutely love this place. Kira is the best when it comes to pixie cuts and trust me I have pretty curly unruly hair but she managed to tame it into a cute style I’m loving more every day. The staff is super nice and make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. Parking is a bit of a challenge if you want to park for free but there is always metered or paid lots. I would definitely recommend making an appointment.

i just got back from a cut and color with Kira!!! she’s awesome!!! love the cut! she took my boring bubble mom cut(granted it was cute before but grew out tons) and made me feel young again! super cute short pixie cut with bangs… i wanted turquoise tips on the bangs. but my hair wouldn’t bleach out yellow enough… so went with fuscia! i think i’d go hot pink next time something a bit more bright! but still fun!!! she colored the rest of my hair black. which rocks!!! usually i ask for black and other salons never get it to be jet black… but Kira did! love it and love Kira!!! would definitely go back! parking in a public lot in the back. $ 2.50 all day long…

I’m growing out my bob, and when I went into Manic Panic weeks ago, my hair was in a weird triangle shape. I talked to Laura about my needs, and she kept my length while giving my hair more shape. The true test of the haircut was me styling it myself days later, and I’m happy to say that the shape still looks good.

These girls are AMAZING! I had very long, boring hair, and have always wanted to go super short, animé/pixie/boy cut with it, but that’s a big gamble! I searched around LA and researched places for about 3 months, trying to find a punk place that knew the look I was going for. These girls did. Instantly when I showed them my reference pics they got excited. Kira said she loves doing pixie cuts so I felt I was in good hands. The cut came out amazing! Couldn’t be happier. I get nothing but compliments. Even random strangers feel the need to come up to me and tell me how cool it looks. My confidence couldn’t be higher! Not to mention even with taking off about 10 inches the hair cut was only $ 35 bucks! Can’t beat that price. I’ll definitely be coming back to Kira/Manic Panic forever. I plan on going full White in the new year, and they’re the only ones I’ll trust with it!
