Michael Fischer has restored a viola from the 1660s that has an incredibly beautiful tone, and is testament to his craftmanship. Sadly it is out of my price range but at under 16″ interested violists should drop by and play it. For me it is always a pleaure to drop by on occasion and see what he is working on. In my last visit he showed me a viola under 15 inches he restored with again, a most beautiful sound. He is most kind, thoughtful and helpful. His shop is a lttle hard to find, and parking scarce, but the trek is worth it.
