Sadly the products are beautiful, the customer service is absolutely terrible. I ordered from the site three times. The first two times things went smoothly, I received exactly what I ordered, and the quality was excellent. The third time, the wrong product was sent to me. Over the period of a month I called the phone number on the site four times,(a vm stated it was Mimi A La Mode– so no mistake) and wrote four emails explaining that Ii had received the incorrect product and was hoping for information on sending it back to the company and being sent the proper item that was ordered. I never received a response, by telephone or email. Nothing. No communication whatsoever. Basically the company did not care that they had sent the wrong item and made me deal with the mistake. The item that had been sent by Mimi was actually less expensive than the one I ordered and had paid for. So not only was I extremely unhappy with being sent the wrong item, I was ripped off by six dollars. Unbelievable that they did not even attempt to resolve this issue. Very disappointing experience and absolutely unprofessional. I will never order from this company again and I would advise anyone who does that they are taking a huge risk.

In Oct. 2011 I ordered 5 shower caps to be used as Christmas gifts. When I received them they were so large that they were not ‘wearable’. I made many attempts to call to arrange a return as they were unusable. «Messages full’ was the phone reply so was not able to leave a message for days. Finally I returned them in a box(the one they came in was damaged when it got to me). Each was in its plastic bag and all were returned ‘unused’. The owner not only kept my $ 136.00 and would not credit my credit card but did not send them back to me as she said she would do.(I would have donated them to a women’s shelter.) She had the audacity to claim that the PLASTIC, foldable shower caps were damaged because they were not in the same box and that they had been folded inside another box. This was not Lalique crystal! These are shower caps!!! I see from other sites, that others have made complaints about Mimi Alamode and I can now see why. There are better sites from which to buy shower caps without the miserable service I and others have experienced. She still has my money.

You could almost go here with your mom… almost. Somehow it manages to have sex toys, games, lotions, potions, outfits, and all that good stuff, and still be goody two shoes. The(female) owner is friendly and helpful, and the resident dog relieves you of any sex-shop-jitters. I’ve gotta say the boutique-feel and non-sex-yet-pampering related items are equally disarming. They carry local products, which means it’s more affordable. It’s a small space so the selection is somewhat limited, but you’re bound to find something you/he/she wanted to try… give it a chance.

This is the cutest store ever. I saw the aprons in the window and they were so sexy and adorable that I thought it must be a coy lingerie shop and had to stop by. I couldn’t believe there was a lingerie store in this town that I hadn’t seen yet. Well I was wrong. It’s not a lingerie store, but is instead a fun and flirty female pampering boutique. The friendly owner explained that they specialize in unique shower caps and eye masks, but have branched out to also carry adult novelties after seeing so much great merchandise at a trade show. I ended up buying a pinup style towel wrap, matching hair keeper away from face thingy, and matching sandals. Plus a silly shower cap that I will treasure. This place is the cutest and will for sure be my new favorite place to buy people gifts.

A sex shop for the shy girls is how this place was described to me. I am not a shy girl, so I had no problem admiring the small selection of vibrators — they have samples you can touch and turn on, if you want to handle before buying. If I was a shy girl, I could find plenty of other stuff to gawk at. It’s a tiny shop filled to the brim with frilly frocks, eye masks, outfits and stuff. So much stuff it was a little overwhelming. Quite a bit of the merchandise is made by local companies, which makes it feel much less sleazy than other sex/novelty stores. In fact, the sleaze factor was nil. The owner was friendly and helpful and good at making you feel comfortable It’s a fun store to stop in and browse and buy some bachlorette party supplies(cause you shy girls would NEVER buy that sort of thing for yourself, right?). hehe. Their website has a ton of unique stuff, check it out.
