We spent a good 40 minutes just sampling pâté, hams, cheeses, prunes & figs! Bought it all! So delicious! Vance was amazing! So helpful & knowledgeable. Thank you for all your help. Wine guy was great too. Nice to have people helping you that love the product & know so much on how it’s made & where it comes from. We’ll be back to eat next time we’re in town!

Market review: Unless you’re a tourist there are only a few really good things about the Farmer’s Market. Monsieur Marcel is one of those things. If you’re not a foodie, you might not be too much into their incredible assortment of international and domestic delicacies. Some of our favorites are… duck sausage, reasonably priced black truffles, basically everything in the cheese case and their Italian and Spanish grocery items. They also carry Canadian/British chocolate bars, so of course I’m a fan. The little café outside of the store is great for and hour of wine, cheese and people watching.

Excellent quality French cuisine in a relaxed market atmosphere. The experience was a bit like eating in Europe. I ordered a half bottle of the house red wine(a Grande Vin de Bordeaux) and it was spot on for the price. Just like a 12% house Bordeaux at a mom and pop restaurant in France. I had the quiche Lorraine with salad and could only have been happier if it was a slight bit warmer. Very tasty though. This is not high end French food. It is marketplace style comfort food, and in that category it is delicious.

This review is not for food, but more of how they run the restaurant. I have tried going to Monsieur Marcel a couple of times around 8:30pm and got turned away. We got some lame excuse like the pipes in the kitchen aren’t working or there’s a holiday party even though half of the place is empty. I understand that they close at 9pm and would almost prefer them to tell me that they simply stop seating at 8:30. Even with that said, I don’t think I’ve been turned away from any restaurants like that. Clearly they don’t need the business, so I will spend my money else where.

While walking around the grove, we got hungry and found this place on Unilocal. its located in the«farmers market» and not the grove… apparently they’re two parking lots. one at the grove where you’ll have to drive onto the roof to find parking, and the other near the farmers market… parking at the grove during the holidays is downright crazy. we didn’t make reservations, but we were able to get seated at the«bar» area. i mean, its not too bad, because you get to people watch while waiting for your food. albeit, we did wait for a while to receive our food, i’m glad we were situated at the bar, it made the time pass by more quickly. the bread and crackers also helped pass the time. we got the hanger steak with fries and the beef bourguignon with a side of ratatouille. when we got our food, the steak was a little lukewarm… i knew i should have complained and sent it back, but after waiting for a while for our food, i was really hungry already. the beef bourguignon and ratatouille were good though. we also asked for ketchup for my fries, but never received any. i had high hopes for this place, but don’t think i’ll come back and check it out. they do have a small market place that sells cheese/wines and other misc french stuff if you’re into that.

I have to update my review from several years ago because I come here frequently. It’s simple classic food done really well. There are many other great place to eat here at the Farmers Market, but I come here when I want to sit down, relax, have a glass of wine and a good salad and a steak or coq au vin or even a great burger. The service is excellent and very friendly. It is one on the reasons I come here often.

Inside the enjoyable old farmers market… we had mignon steak, thin fries, fire roasted artichoke, and onion soup. All were very good: tasty seasoning on the artichokes, perfectly cooked to my desire mignon and those thin cut fries were very good. Never seen fries so thin cut. The onion soup was slightly watery and lacked a robust onion flavor but, it wasn’t any where near so bad I wouldn’t eat it. Just needs a better onion to start with. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about french foods. I wish they would have checked on us a few times more. Ask for bread otherwise you won’t get any.

Went there for Sunday brunch with my wife while at the Farmer’s Market in the Grove. I ordered a Salmon omelette and my wife got the Chicken Caesar Salad. My order came without the Salmon, so I sent it back. My completed order was as a result delayed. They made up for it by not charging me for my meal. The service was good and the food was tasty. Would return again.

Foie gras!!! Grabbed some brunch here after a workout this past weekend. Marcel was our waiter and he was super friendly and sweet. I loved all his suggestions, but it was difficult to choose! I started off with the foie gras, scarfed the the croque madame, and finished my meal off with a chocolate croissant. All delicious! FYI — the croque madame is on the richer/heavier side. I didn’t finish the whole thing. I recommend getting lots of chocolate croissants =) yuuuummmmmmmm

Located in the Farmers Market, this place has a variety of yummy products and things like doormats and canvas bags. You can sample different olive oils(the balsamic was kind of amazing) and various jams/butters. While they have a great variety of meats and cheeses, you won’t want to buy the normal stuff you find in your average grocery stores because it’s simply way overpriced. They have an assortment of sweets behind the counter. I tried the passion fruit and chocolate nuage cakes. They were very rich, with a meringue interior. The flavor for the passion fruit was surprisingly accurate, with the right amount of tartness to it, and you can never go wrong with chocolate. I would definitely come back to this establishment!

Great spot to eat and drink before catching a movie or meeting friends for a more substantive dinner. I love sitting at the bar to people-watch on a busy day at the Grove! They also have an awesome happy hour menu, and yummy cheese and charcuterie! They have the cutest little wine glasses just like they do in your home in France. Their wine selection is awesome! Whatever your favorite wine is, you’ll find it on the menu. I like the St Tropez rose wine — light and fresh, just right for a hot day. At one point or another, my friends and I have tried all of the 3 Happy Hour specials. The Burricota Crostini is delicious! Very fresh and soft burricota, and I love the use of yellow and red cherry tomatoes on top. Super refreshing and colorful! I personally love smoked salmon, so my favorite of the three was the Smoked Salmon on yummy baguette, some sort of creamy spread, and topped with caviar and capers. Filling and rich, just the way I like my happy hour dishes while sipping on wine. Finally, the avocado toast was good! Classic take on this California favorite. They also have yummy and light salads, and the Croque Marcel is delicious! I’d love to try their nutella crêpe next time I’m back!

I’ve been to the Farmer’s market every time I visit LA, and was excited to see this place. They were very pleasant, and the food was really good. We had a few small plates while waiting for friends, and they were all fantastic. I highly suggest the burrata and heirloom tomatoes, perfect fresh dish. Really taking wonderful advantage of the produce they have available to them.

The best BAGUETTE ever! Besides the baguette, this little gourmet food boutique has my heart. I have been going here for over a decade and love every corner of it. From candies to wine, everything is exquisitely curated. Although the floor staff are helpful, the cashiers can be passive when it comes to customer service. Soupe A L’oignon is to die-for if you are eating at Monsieur Marcel. I get giddy just saying… Monsieur Marcel.

Restaurant /Lunch Review … Nice little French restaurant inside the Los Angeles Farmers Market. The setting is very casual, with open-air seating. Service: The service is nice … nothing special, nothing bad. Food: 1. Bread Basket — Nice, but nothing special(much like the service). 2. Burrata and Heirloom Tomatoes — The burrata cheese was terrific, with a creamy texture. There was also bit of saltiness from the black salt they add, which was great. Unfortunately, but only because the burrata was so good, the tomatoes and balsamic reduction were average by comparison. 3. Potato Gratin — Good, solid dish … potatoes were nicely done and the dish was cheesy. 4. Coq Au Vin — Somewhat underwhelming, with slightly dry chicken and an overpowering sauce. Bottom Line: I’ll probably be back, but mostly for the cheese and charcuterie. Nice place for a bite on a sunny afternoon.

Nice wine merchant and all around purveyors for culinary goods in the Farmer’s Market. They have everything from wine & champagne, accompanying snacks and pairings, international candies & chocolates to regional picks. I saw everything from artisan ketchup from san francisco, bacon and srriracha mayo made in small batches to candy bars that I love from other countries such as violet crumble to coffee crisp. Nice to know I can find them there whenever a craving strikes. The place was busy. Super busy. I cant even tell you if I came across a member of the staff. If I did they did not present themselves. Monsieur Marciel is a nice store to browse through and pick up gifts or some treats for yourself. Probably best to browse through during the week as the weekend brings on quite the circus of people.

The only thing good here was their white wine flight. They paired them with cheeses and nuts which I really enjoyed. The clams in white wine sauce was not good at all. The French onion soup was ok. I love the farmers market but this place was just a bit overpriced and the quality was not that great.

Met with some Co-workers and I completely forgot how quaint yet accommodating this hidden gem can be! Not only a fantastic place for lunch but also dubs as a French market. I used to make the drive to LA to meet my Hubby for lunch back in the day and this was among our favorite spots. Monsieur Marcel was the only place that really encompassed our trip to Paris … Sipping wine, indulging in cheeses, oysters and clams, the pastries, the coffees and of course the wines! Oops! Already said that :-) Today the location seems so much more in tune and alive than ever before! I loved the Normandy sandwich with its creamy Brie and tart, crisp green apples but I would have loved to try the linguini with clams. A co-worker ordered the linguini and I was immediately jealous haha! This place is truly Parisian and worth a visit!

Okay seriously, the most quaintest place at The Grove/Farmers Market. It’s like a beautiful mix of seriously outstanding cared for food + relaxed environment. I would totally go on a date here. Someone take me. .____. HAHA uh. okay but forreal, the first thing I do is whenever someone visits me is taking them here. Or trying to make all happy hour/meet ups happen here. Good wine(and I don’t even care for wine!), awesome food. Macaroni n cheese(err written in french lol) — Rich cheeses in a piping hot cast iron skillet Apple Tart dessert — comes w/ice cream, not warm but like a chilled tart. Yum. Linguini w/clams — oh my LAWD. You do have to wait a bit for this but it comes out fresh from the stove and it is so rich and delicious. I want to try other eateries at the grove/farmers market but I honestly cannot because always I find myself seated here instead.

This little gem is tucked away in a little corner in the Farmer’s Market. Such a nice surprise to find an amazing selection of exotic cheese, wines, and oh my… foie gras!(My favorite!) *drooling as I type this* The sauce on the escargot is tasty. The endive salad is probably the BEST I’ve had in long time. I also love the bread(which goes amazing with the cheese & dipped in the escargot sauce! Mmmmm!!!) The service is OK, but the food makes up for it!
