Fried chicken sandwich, breakfast burrito, cuban, fried egg sandwich– they’re all good. Tropicana to your right for a fresh juice or smoothie and a quaint indoor or outdoor seating area. What more could you ask for in a local deli. Don’t skip out on the fries but if you do you have a whole chip/snack isle to choose from. Also if you are the devil like me when you’re hungry you can call in your order and save yourself some time and your boyfriends life.

I do not see the hype surrounding this place. We waited, along with a number of other people, for over 30 minutes for a sandwich and a salad. The service left a lot to be desired. I got the buffalo chicken which was pretty good, but nowhere near as good as I see it reviewed. Maybe it was an off day? The Greek salad was drenched in dressing and was missing several key ingredients(feta, cucumbers). I think the unique atmosphere of a neighborhood market with an unexpected higher end deli and coffeeshop contributes quite a bit to the hype.

This place was a little neighborhood secret. It’s inside of a market but once you get inside, there is so much to choose from! Every choice better than the last. The people were super nice and my order was very quick! There’s also a seating are inside and out, It’s no wonder people try to keep this place under wraps, they want it all to themselves. But cat’s out of the bag! This place is great and the food is even better, you won’t be disappointed.

Hands down the very best gluten free Ruben I have ever had. They make their own pastrami and the own sauerkraut! The sandwich is perfect and very consistent! I have had the Ruben about 20xs and I still crave it weekly! Tropicana also has great gluten free beer and cider. Estrella daura and stone IPA delicious to name a few!

Monte 52 is located in a market, in the back. Parking on the streets might be hard to find. The person behind the counter was pretty helpful, though I was ready to order something on the menu in the pictures on Unilocal that is no longer available(the French Dip), so I was pretty bummed out. Tried the Cuban instead, which was pretty tasty. I think it was a combination of pulled pork meat and reuben, with mustard, though I might be mistaken on the meat. It was $ 7.63 after tax, which I think is an okay price for a sandwich, but the sandwich was not very filling. I will come again to try a different sandwich, but if I’m very hungry, I might go elsewhere.

The Cuban sandwich here is absolutely fantastic. I can’t recommend it enough. It can take a bit to take a number, order, and then get the food, but the meal is well worth the wait. I can’t wait to eat here again!

Great reviews on Unilocal,so I had to try this place for a take out lunch(working from home). I would’ve never figured out that there was a great sandwich joint in the back of a supermarket, but it works! I’d ordered a Reuben — which was served with pickles instead of sauerkraut, but I do appreciate twists-and-turns in traditional fare, but it has to work — and it does! the wifey ordered the Arugula salad and we had soup as well. All well prepared and tasted great! Parking is a bit challenging as the market is located in a residential area, but within the La Tropicana market is a great selection of wine and drinks. Their vegetable section is also fantastic!

A delicious sandwich shop. Had the Red Dragon with turkey. It was a great sandwich. The guy at the counter was extremely helpful and gave f*** unlike many places today. There’s a juice, coffee and ice cream bar there as well. The market is a great neighborhood market with all kinds of choices that cater to the diverse neighbors — doesn’t leave the hipsters out, isn’t taken completely over by them either. Love it!

Amazing local food(i live up the street from this hidden gem) with fresh ingredients and lots of variety. Super tasty! I split a fried egg breakfast sandwich and a breakfast burrito with my boyfriend and we snarfed them down they were so tasty! Minus one star for a little bit of a wait time and not much seating inside, but worth it once we got the food. I would recommend phoning in your order because that was pretty much the only reason I had to wait, other wise perfect. We are vegetarian and they can change or customize most menu items for your diet. Located inside the Tropicana market

The Monte 52 got them grilled cheese grills, Got them hollaback chips and those no frills thrills. Love all those smoothies, yeah, and got them groceries, too, don’t forget about them soups and those mothaf***in’ stews. Location’s weird as hell, but I got no complaints, I go there cravin’ fries and a sandwich and a drank. Chocolate strawberries for the girl with whom I mate, don’t forget the free samples, perfect for a cheap date. That big dude dishin’ sandwiches is super cool, Got a smile on his face cause this sandwich shop rules.

Not that this place needs good press, every time I go to get some food, there is a line of hipsters patiently waiting for their order. The sandwich and salads are delicious — my goal is to try everything on the menu. So far I have had the chicken salad sandwich, the red dragon, a burger(which was the weakest thing I have had), the club, the cuban, the greek and chicken caesar salads. ALL of it was great, especially the chicken ceasar, the cuban and the club. Each sandwich has really great ingredients made to order at a reasonable price. It is rare that I give a place 5 stars and worried that it will just add to the line and jack up the price, but this place deserves the rating. Call ahead rather than wait there for your order.

Whatever«Chef» is working today 6÷29÷15 between 2pm-3pm needs to take a few days off to work on his/her skills and their love for food. First off, our fries were horrible!!! Some were over cooked, some were left in oil too long and some were literally raw. Do you know how hard it to mess up fries? My 10 year old niece makes better fries than the ones served to us at Monte. Second, the sandwich was bland and just lacking flavor over all. The Buffalo Chicken sandwich was just plain BLAH… Oh, can’t forget about the bone I bit into that almost broke my tooth! Monte has def lost its Mojo! Sad because i started going when their sandwiches were just $ 5. One would think that since prices went up, the quality of food would too. $ 10 down the drain. Don’t know that I would go back, but I do know… I’m not recommending it to our friends anymore.

I picked up a couple sandwiches here to have later in the day; they were really good even after sitting in the fridge for a few hours. How much better would they have been freshly made? My grilled veggie on multigrain was not soggy and my friend raved over his roast beef. We both liked the(homemade?) pesto a lot; the horseradish could have been spicier. Minus one star for the ridiculous wait, but it’s totally worth it.

Now open 10am — 3pm on SUNDAYS! The Italian Sub here is also amazing. Sometimes, I have sandwich dreams about it and wake up disappointingly(and disgustingly) chewing on pillowcase.

BLT add cheddar extra mayo on gluten free bread is my jam!!! I seriously think it’s the BESTBLT around and was reminded of it’s awesomeness earlier today when I popped in for lunch. Perfectly crisp bacon, lots of mayo, warm semi melted cheddar cheese, a juicy tomato, a layer of lettuce in between two perfect toasted slices of a bread of your choice. It’s the stuff dreams are made of… in fact it’s so good that I am afraid to try something new and as much as I want to branch out and take the tuna out for a whirl I simply can’t pull the trigger. Also if this is your first time coming here be warned that you actually get two sandwiches with each order(not 100% sure if this is the case with other sandwiches but definitely holds try for the BLT with GF bread). During my first visit I was pleasantly surprised to open up my sandwich wrapper only to discover twin BLTs. Seriously the BEST thing ever!!! APPROVED!!!

Great Neighborhood Sandwich Shop(5 stars) My barber is across the street and I happened to be hungry after getting a cut. There were people sitting outside and I thought I’d check it out. I walked in, took a look, and almost walked out, but the bottles of wine in the back got my attention. Cubano sandwich was delicious. Definitely worth coming back.
