Dr. Morse-​Solky is a perfectly fine doctor. I haven’t had to seen her for more than routine checkups. But I finally switched to another doctor at Cedars during my 1^st trimester (and am SO happy that I did) b/​c I got sick of the inevitable 1-​hour long waits for her office visits — it’s really ridiculous how much time I’ve spent in her waiting room!

My first appointment with dr solky was to remove my copper IUD as my husband and I wanted to start trying to conceive. The procedure was easy and she said «make an apt for 6 months out for your annual and if you get pregnant before then come see me». I expressed to her that I am a competitive runner and have had irregular periods in the past and she offered no advice, she was unpahsed so I thought maybe I was over thinking it. She suggested I get GNA testing with counsyl and said that I would get a quote and could then confirm if I wanted to do the testing. It was $ 1600 when I got the quote and before I knew it she was calling me to tell me she had reviewed my results– I didn’t even want to get the testing nor had I confirmed! I skipped my period the month after getting my IUD taken out and emailed her concerned and asked if there was anything u should do as I now would not know when I was ovulating. She offered no advice and told me in all caps over email «getting pregnant is a long process». Incredibly insensitive and she did not even suggest something like an ovulation test– very simple. Hands down the most insensitive Doctor I have ever met and made me feel like all my concerns should wait six months or a year to even be discussed. Finding someone else!

If you have a perfect pregnancy she’s a great doctor. If you have any trouble along the way, good luck seeing her. I assume she’s overwhelmed with patients, but I could only communicate with her through email. She never wanted to see me in person after I started bleeding early in my pregnancy and was told by her staff to wait till the 8^th week to come in. When I did get to see her, she failed to diagnose what turned out to be an ectopic pregnancy. All the clues were there. Two weeks later my tube ruptured at work and I had to have emergency surgery by another doctor in another hospital. She didn’t even follow up with a phone call. I got an email asking if I was ok.

I was able to get a same day appointment with Dr. Solky thanks to my rheumatologist calling to see if I could get in as I really needed to be seen. As luck would have it she happened to have a cancellation and I was so grateful. She’s so nice, puts you at ease and is a great doctor, very happy to have found her!

I feel so fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Solky that I want to do the same and help others who need an amazing doctor! She’s so caring, responsive and just makes you feel so comfortable in her office. I very much look forward to my Doctor’s visits and it’s all because of her and her wonderful staff! If you’re able to see her — you’re very lucky!

Dr Solky is THE best. Had my baby 6 months ago and had the most wonderful experience with her. I delivered on a Sunday night and she stopped by the hospital several times that day to check on me, vs. some doctors who just pop in for the pushing. She is sweet and comforting and relaxed when appropriate while also being incredibly confident and competent.

I’ve only been to see Dr. Morse-​Solky (you guys should update her name here on Unilocal) twice for regular annual exams after getting a list of providers from Anthem and picking her. She appears to be a genuinely kind, caring, and down-​to-​earth doctor without a god complex like so many of them have. I have a problem with tardiness so I’m always running a few minutes behind, and thus am out of breath and panting by the time I get to her office, just racing from a mile away where I parked (to avoid the exorbitant Cedars parking garage fees), only to be kept waiting quite a while (last time 30 minutes after my scheduled time). That’s my only quibble, but it’s a small price to pay to have a gynecologist you can actually feel comfortable and happy with. She never seems rushed and will take all the time you need to answer any questions of generally banter and make you feel at ease, in the most un-​easy environment there is. Nowadays when less and less doctors are health care providers, it’s such a thrill to find someone who’s not only on top of their game professionally, but is also very personable. I actually don’t dread my annual exams because of her. Thanks, Dr. Morse-​Solky! Definitely a 5-​star doctor, I’m only giving 4 stars because of the waiting and parking, nothing to do with the great doctor herself.

I had a terrific experience with Dr. Solky and her entire team. Cedars Sinai where she delivers is a great place to have a baby.
My husband and I lean towards the natural side of things, but wanted an OB as opposed to the midwife/​home birth route for our first baby since everything was so new to us as first time parents.
Dr. Solky was so personable from day one and would respond to emails or phone calls promptly. She was never pushy with the medical side of things and was open to our ideas for a more natural birth.
When it came to delivery, we had a lot of curve balls thrown at us (water broke and no contractions for more than 10 hours), but Dr. Solky was respectful of our requests for time for my husband and I to discuss our options and make a game plan. She worked very well with our doula and also respected her opinions and her role in our birth.
She’s smart, capable, listens well, and knows how to put your mind at ease as a mom. Everything you want in a doctor.
She took such great care of our whole family from the first trimester to the postpartum appointment. I cannot recommend her enough, and hope she’s able to deliver our future babies.

I could write for hours about how amazing Dr. Solky is. I moved here a year ago and used all of these review sites to find an OBGYN. And before I got to my first visit we were pregnant! Dr. Solky was amazing from the start. She is a no fluff tell it like it is person but comforting at the same time. I’m a control freak who worries about everything when it comes to health so she kept me in line and calm throughout the entire pregnancy. And through ten months of a billion appointments you really have to like someone to make it through! She was never annoyed (at least it didn’t show) at my crazy questions or emails, and always got back to me quickly. Now let’s talk about delivery. That was rough, but not because of Dr. Solky. I mean your pushing a kid out, it’s not fun no matter who your dr is. But Dr. Solky was there on time and kept me focused throughout, even joking with me when I could handle it. I won’t get into details but it was probably the best case scenario delivery one could ask for and a lot of it was because of Dr. Solky. We move around a lot for work and I sad to think that she might not deliver our next one. Oh and her nurse Lorena in the office is wonderful. She was so nurturing and kind throughout the pregnancy and after!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Morse for a few years now. From all the OB/GYN’s I’ve seen, she truly is the best. Very nice and attentive. The office is very clean and the staff is professional and helpful. I usually make my appointments early in the morning or right after their lunch break. I’ve never had to wait more then 10 – 15 to get in to see her. Making an appointment with her is actually a different story. It’s usually a couple of months out. My overall experience with her and her office has been great. I highly recommend.

Dr. Solky is wonderful. I’ve been seeing her for about six years. She’s a great doctor. I don’t remember having to wait that long as a gyn patient. She doesn’t rush you once you are in the room with you. I prefer to wait and get the right amount of personal attention. Most doctors run a bit late. She and her awesome team at Cedars delivered my first baby in September 2013 and it was a wonderful experience. I was so scared before walking in but as soon as I got in there her team put all of my fears at ease and I had a beautiful baby. Best possible experience I could have had. She answered all of my crazy pregnancy emails promptly and always reassured me when my worrying got the best of me. I think she is worth waiting for. Good all around doctors are really hard to find. Love her! Her office staff members and nurses are super sweet and accommodating, too.

Wouldn’t trust my health to any other OB GYN in all the world. Was referred to Dr. Solky (maiden name is Morse — someone should update this listing!) by a colleague. I have an extensive history of cervical abnormalities and I feel like Dr. Solky knows my body better than I do – she knows when to treat me, and when to wait. She is not one to just jump on doing procedure after procedure that can leave you at risk for pre-​term labor or miscarriages during pregnancy; she monitors you as an individual case and proceeds accordingly. I remember the first time I saw her, she sat me down in her personal office and spent 20 – 30 minutes just talking about my case, asking me what I had been through, how I had been treated, and discussed in full detail how she would be treating me. She allayed my fears and made me feel like there was hope.
Dr. Solky was also the one (not any of my regular doctors, who I usually go to for my annual check-​up) who discovered a lump in my breast — mind you, I was only 28 when it was discovered. She referred me to Pink Lotus — maybe one of the best medical establishments in all of the US — who monitored me with precision before diagnosing my tumor as benign.
Dr. Solky has brought me peace of mind and a feeling of safety that no other doctor has been able to provide — I feel like my health and well being are in good hands, and I can leave the worrying to them. Their office is beautiful and so warm and comfortable, the staff is AMAZING (I loooove Melissa at the front desk!!), and Dr. Solky responds to all of my emails the same day I send them to her — and I’ve sent her MANY! Not to mention (sorry for the TMI!) I have recurring YI’s and am fully drug-​resistant to treatment. I suffered under the hands of so many doctors who pumped my body full of toxic, kidney-​overloading drugs to help me with my problems, all to no avail. I finally went in to discuss it with Dr. Solky; she prescribed me a simple treatment of Boric Acid (natural, safe, and you don’t grow a resistance to it) and it has CURED me. Why didn’t any other doctor prescribe this for me??? It was the first thing she recommended.
I just can’t recommend Dr. Solky enough. I don’t ever want kids, but if I do have them, I can’t wait for Karyn to be my doctor.

Dr. Morse Solky is nice, and a pretty good doctor, but I don’t think she is worth waiting months for an appointment. She simply has too many patients. I wait literally months to see her, then wait in the waiting room for an hour, then see her for 4 minutes. I’m not pregnant so maybe I’m low priority for her.

Dr Morse Solky is the BEST doctor hands down. She is super nice, follows up and has taken amazing care of me. Yes, you have to wait sometimes. but I have yet to find a doctor you don’t have to wait for… and the reason is because she is taking time with her patients. Sorry but to me that’s not a bad thing.
You will not find a better OBGYN out there. End of story… so if you want to see someone great this is your doctor.

My experience with Dr. Morse was great. I never waited more than 15 minutes. In fact, when I was 15 – 30 minutes early a few times, they managed to see me early. :)
Dr. Solky responds to emails if you have any questions. That’s amazing.
Staff are super nice and resourceful. Monica, in particular, helped me a lot with applying for SDI when I was on maternity leave.
When my baby decided to come out 3.5 weeks early, Dr. Morse was on vacation. At first, I was nervous about having her colleague Dr. Hackmeyer deliver the baby (just because I had never met him before) but he was GREAT! He’s just as professional, friendly and great at what he does.
I recommend this dr office to anyone!

Dr. Morse now Dr. Solky is a fantastic doctor. I highly recommend her. However, you have to wait for an appt for a ling time, she’s very busy and you wait in the waiting room for a while also. But she’s a great doctor. I give her 5 starts.

If you don’t have a life or a job, this is the doctor for you. Everyone waits… and you never know how long you will be waiting. If you have an emergency and walk in, or if you have scheduled your appointment a year in advance… its all the same. Two years, and I was done. I can not possibly wait 2 hours EVERY TIME I have to see this doctor. I understand that sometimes baby’s are born. Or emergency surgery happens. But the last time I noticed that patients are scheduled at 10 min intervals. I don’t know what, if any gyno exam can take 10 mins. Again, if you don’t mind waiting, she is a good doc. But there are other good docs that get you in at a reasonable time and out in time to go on with your life. A regular doctor’s appoint should not take your entire day.

Quite simply, the kindest, most competent ob-​gyn I have ever had. She returns my calls/​emails ASAP and never treats me like a number. She delivered my son after nearly 24 hours of labor and never once suggested a c-​section. Was willing to work with me so I could have the labor I wanted. I tried another well-​reviewed ob who had St. Johns and UCLA privileges, as for this pregnancy, I wanted to be on the west side. But, midway through this pregnancy, I got fed up with the sub-​par treatment and returned to Dr. Morse (now Solky!) who welcomed me back with open arms. I sometimes wish we lived in a more midwife-​friendly society, as I would prefer that medical model, but I adore Dr. Morse so much that I’m willing to overlook that.

Dr. Morse delivered my first baby last year and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. Leading up to the birth she was very attentive to all my needs. She was always responsive via phone and email, and she wasn’t a fear-​mongering doctor who pushed extra ultrasounds and tests (just what was standard). I appreciated her approach because with an uncomplicated pregnancy it is refreshing that a doctor tends to your needs without assuming the worst and intervening when it might not be required.
Dr. Morse isn’t as well known as some other Cedars docs which is surprising because, like the other reviewer mentioned, she has a reputation within the medical community as being one of the best OBGYN/​surgeons in LA. Because I know she is such a highly respected gynecologic surgeon I was a bit nervous about ending up with a Cesarean birth — after all, OBGYNs are surgeons at the end of the day, which likely contributes to the very high cesarean rate in our country — when I was very much hoping for a natural birth. However, I had heard that Dr. Morse was a doctor who was supportive of natural birth. One doula/​midwife described her as a rare doctor who «loved and respected birth and delivering babies,» which may sound simplistic but I don’t believe that all OBGYNS still feel that way. I chose Dr. Morse because I decided that if it should be necessary that I needed a Cesarean, I would know I was in good hands; but if I didn’t have any complications, then she would be respectful of the natural birth process — a win/​win situation. Ultimately, Dr. Morse was completely supportive of my desires and when the day finally came, she totally respected my birth plan and never suggested pain meds, per my wishes. I was fortunate enough to have a pretty straightforward first birth and she was calm and encouraging throughout. It truly was a beautiful experience and I was grateful to her for helping me along.
As for her office, I have mostly had a fine time with them and only had to wait a few times. The reason was usually because she was still at the hospital delivering a baby. While it is always annoying to have to wait, I can deal if there is a legitimate reason. I know that by the time I got to the hospital for my birth in the late afternoon on a Tuesday, there wasn’t a lot of time but she came right away. I hope she didn’t have to bump a patient or rush anyone through an appointment, but I appreciated that she was there when I needed her. I also appreciate that SHE is the one to deliver her patients so you can feel comfortable with that.

I HATE looking for GYNs and Dr. Morse was the best decision I ever made. She is kind, gentle, informative and overall just very comforting. Do the research, there are several women online who swear by her and her office is FILLED with pictures of super happy families and babies.
